Thoughts after "The Elite": Team Maxon or Team Aspen?

Whether it be Maxon or Aspen, America and Aspen need to quit sneaking around because that it just all kinds of bad juju waiting to happen lol. NO MORE SNEAKING! I freak out every time they meet with each other just waiting for something bad to happen!

Like' okay. I understand that the sun rises and the sky is blue and Aspen endlessly loves America. Okay. But to put the girl you love in that kind of position? To put her in harm's way just so you can try to fight for her, which is illegal as long as she's in The Selection?
He saw what happened to Carter and Marlee. And I was just really irritated that he was so willing to endanger her, as long as he had her.
Maxon will probably find out in the next book... GAH. Will not be pretty.

I don't know..I like Aspen a lot more know, but (SPOILER) after she saw Maxon's back I feel bad for him. (Maxon)
I was kind of dissapointed with this book... I loved The Selection, but I found that The Elite had no real plot to it. As in no rising action, climax and falling action. I'm Team Maxon all the way... But I kind of want him to end up with Kriss and not America. He's way too nice of a guy to end up with America who can't even make up her mind. :I
I'm more reading this series to see what happens to Maxon than anyone else now. :)

Neither. but if i had to pick, i'd pick maxon.
TEAM ASPEN!!! i still think he's better than maxon. I don't have nothing against Maxon, But Aspen have proved what he can do for America. and Maxon screw everything up when america talks to Kriss and saw Maxon kissing with Celeste. I'll chose maxon when he clearly prove he can do anyting for America.
Yeah that was my other theory that she would end up NOT picking either of them lol.
I don't know how anyone can say Aspen acted any better than Maxon did in the Elite. I mean sure, Maxon acted like a jerk with the whole Celeste incident but you can see just how much he truly loves America in every single scene. Aspen is just simply self centered with his actions. He knows he could get America in serious trouble by sneaking around AND that he isn't respecting her wishes.

I don't know there is just something about unrequited love that I just adore. While I agree Maxon is a great guy there is just something about Aspen I think he would be better for America. Just my opinion but #TeamAspen all the way!!!!

America is cheating with aspen on Maxon the guy she "claims" to care about.
People are always like "oooh, Maxon is doing this with Kriss" or "Maxon is doing that with Celeste"... Like, are you guys serious? America is cheating with Aspen since the first book! Besides, Maxon needs to choose a girl. America can walk away one day and say "I don't want to be a queen"... What will do Maxon if he doesn't have a second choice? And Maxon already explained the thing with Celeste and Kriss... America doesn't trust in Maxon... She could be more honest with him like she is with Aspen.

Ninguno. Me gustaba Maxon en el primero, pero nunca acabe de tragármelo... y luego de leer "The Elite" perdió todos los puntos que tenia. Aspen nunca a sido mas que un secundario para mi, así que realmente no me importa este chico.
Esta trilogía no esta hecha para un triangulo amoroso, no se por que la escritora sigue tratando con el.

Team Maxon all the way but honestly the three of them annoyed me some times on Elite :)) So frustrating! But I gotta say Maxon deserves America and she better choose him and fight for him or else I'll be damn pissed. I don't hate Aspen though, I just don't like that he's still approaching America under Maxon's nose and I hate America for that. I feel pity for Maxon whenever America is indecisive and favoring Aspen (which is Maxon don't have any idea about) but I don't want him to end up with the other Elite. He's for America only. He deserves the girl. I like Ameica's character I just hate her indecisiveness. She better choose Maxon and fight for him because the guy would choose her for the world.

At the start of the selection I thought Aspen was cool. I thought it was gonna be one of those forbidden romance novels.... and then Aspen did stupid stuff and then Maxon was awesome so I've been on team Maxon. BUT GOODNESS THE ELITE REALLY TOYED WITH MY EMOTIONS!
hm. I liked Aspen in the beginning,and maybe this is because in the selection we dont really see much of his side, so i kinda thought he was unnecessary, AND after reading Prince, i was all about TEAM MAXON, but i do have to accept, Aspen really is caring-though hes made his fair share of annoying presumptions and crabbiness,and Maxon did some typical testosterone fuelled dick moves, but in a way, i don't blame him,cause he has responsibilities and America really never made any promises,It does n't help that he's muddled and spurned, So honestly, I'd say America is fighting for a place on the top three for most annoying Protagonist. But by the end , it gave me hope that she'd movie her arse out of her little pity-party,And while i understand why both of them did what they did - ULTIMATELY it comes down to who i felt America had a better and more passionate connection with,who she could talk to,who was a friend, above all- and thats Maxon :/ so yeah, TEAM MAXON,i guess.

I get that,BUT Take into account that America was extremely Indecisive, she was n't really..Faithful,i guess you could say, to either, and while she kinda professed her love for aspen in the very begging , alot has changed since then,so it was annoying that aspen would n't give her breathing space and expected her to unconditionally flat-out choose him, where as Maxon, His is the story you 've read before, Guy does n't get girl,so he trys to forget her, its a classic mistake, and hes been spurned before, he has the whole Kingdom and his abusive SOB father and KING after him,he's feeling confused and hurtso yeah, he tried tactic escapism,slipped a bit of his Perfect Facade,but that just makes him human-what they all do now,is what will matter.,
He also had a pretty BIG reason to loose his trust and be a little wary of America, And yet he never really abandons her,he does n't have her claim and yet he gave so much of himself away,to her,shared things he's never shared with anyone,And really i just find she's truely happier when shes with Maxon,this sense of fulfilment-wholeness, he drives her crazy sometimes, but thats passion, the closer you are to someone,the harder you fall,I do BELIEVE they should be together,your heart swells with- love,joy when you read about them/
Aspen is caring,he's done his share of stuff,good n bad, He's a good guy.i guess it would n't ne a love triangle otherwise, BUT man,its not the same .

Okay...you realize how this kind of looks, in a way Maxon and America are both cheating.......so....atleast America's cheating on one person and really cares for this one person, and this one person it utterly amazing!

Well in Maxon's defense, she revealed a secret that he told her to keep. Possibly in front of the whole KINGDOM. Who wouldn't be wary of America if she goes against her word just because she's angry?
And I guess I can understand Aspen more now. He left America because she deserved better, he didn't want her to drop in the caste and live a lesser life because of him. And I really liked that about him. He puts her before almost everything. And now he can provide for her the way that she deserves. And Aspen has only known and imagined his life with America in it.
But the sneaking around just upset me so much. Risky and unnecessary. He should wait until The Selection is over if he was so sure of America and her feelings for him.

It adds to the suspense, so when this or if this becomes a movie they can put that suspenseful music in the back ground....dun na nah ne dun na nah na dun DUN dun

Make up your mind sister!"Ummm great Idea....the only hitch, and there's only one minor tiny weeny thing is that...well...America wouldn't have this idecieveness, and then the book with end after a couple of chapters after she got to the selection. Maxon would either fall in love her and she would love him back and say she truly loved and they would end the selection just like that (sort of adding some action with the other girls ) and the book would be done in one novel. If you she were to choose aspen it would be done in like a couple of chapters with her going to selection, says she loves someone else. Has some indecision to leave, then leaves, and she works out her problems with Aspen they have a family in a lower caste, happily ever after! :D

Though tbh, the reason I don't really have any attachment to Aspen is because we didn't get to read about how his relationship with America developed. It was just there.While with Maxon we see it grow from a friendship out of necessity to something more. We get to see America's POV of meeting Maxon and falling for him and the little moments in between. And it was nice to see the transition.
There hasn't been enough Aspen to get me to like him really. It's just been America talking about these feelings for him that we never got to experience with her.
The light bulb isn't actually mine but I took the picture, it was a light bulb in a lamp in Home goods. I didn't even take it with my own camera, I took it with my friend, but it turned at really pretty, kind of a rustic classic.

LOL. You don't need to shoot down someone else's opinion just because you don't agree with it. Lessening Maxon's sacrifices for America isn't going to make America choose Aspen.
