Lol...now I'm at 46%. Alas, it's time to stop reading and rest my eyes for another day of reading. The story is so sweet. There's nice tension between Matt & Layla. He's this blushing growling bear. Adorable like Shelly Laurenston's shifter bears. Makes me happy.

January 2016?! Ugh, but I expected that. :) I assumed what we didn't know about Dani was the act that had been done that affected Mac - -interesting, I am going to look back I bet my perspective is different now.

I am really enjoying Arcadia Bell. :D Thank you!

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am really enjoying both Six Impossible Things by Fiona Wood (protagonist is a 14 year old boy, set in Australia -- Australian author) and Mortal Sins (World of the Lupi, #5) by Eileen Wilks -- I love the performances of graphic audio.

message 7055: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i've had the world of lupi books on the pile for a while - wonder if its maybe a better in audio than print for me

message 7056: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I read the first one and listened to graphic audio for the rest. For me, I love the performance. I did not listen to the first one, there is a free short one on the graphic audio site for this series, but I haven't listened or read that one (it is a preqel, and I generally don't like prequels) so I don't know if it is a good introduction to the series and/or graphic audio.

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments listening to One Dom to Love - nominated for an Audie in the erotica category (i'm listening to all of those as well as the paranormal category) - so far so good - new to me narrator - Christian Fox

message 7058: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I love finding new narrators.

I am excited that I have delved in to two new to me urban fantasy series, I didn't know I would be finding new series that I could have fun with.

message 7059: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments have you considered picking one of the Audie categories and listening to the books? (there are about 4-6 in each one) - normally I do the romance category but was very underwhelmed this year - so doing paranormal and erotica - but they have a bunch of different ones

message 7060: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I was looking for the links, but only saw the individual author announcements. Now I see it: http://www.audiofilemagazine.com/cont...

I guess the ones I was interested in I already read/listened to. I have never just picked, maybe I will, good idea.

message 7061: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i can't remember if you blog - but there is the Armchair Audies group - where bloggers do the categories and pick - I know the she is still looking for people

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I like this presentation so much better than the dry pdf I had above. There is a book on there that I have been wanting to read Life Drawing by Robin Black -- I am going to do it in audio.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments I am reading Wind Catcher A Chosen Novel by Jeff Altabef and listening to If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman .

message 7066: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Right now, I'm listening to Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop. It's pretty good and I'll probably move straight onto the next in the series Vision in Silver when I've finished.

I have a few audiobooks sitting there waiting for me at the moment. I started The Switch by Lindsay Sands which was OK but the international audiobook smuggler and indie-book spellcheck enforcer has only given me 14 days to get through Murder of Crows so I put that on the back-burner.

I also have Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman which I have high hopes for.

Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop Vision in Silver (The Others #3) by Anne Bishop Shadow Scale (Seraphina, #2) by Rachel Hartman The Switch by Lynsay Sands

On my Kindle at the moment, I have Once Upon a Rose by Laura Florand, and His First and Last by my favorite author, Terri Osburn.

Once Upon a Rose (La Vie en Roses, #1) by Laura Florand His First and Last (Ardent Springs) by Terri Osburn

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Read Laura Florand's "A Rose in Winter" located in this holiday anthology No Place Like Home (Includes La Vie en Roses, #1.5) by Linda Lael Miller . It was ok. Once Upon a Rose (La Vie en Roses, #1) by Laura Florand is better.

Also read Worth the Wait by Jamie Beck , which was okay.

Now, it's time to read YA fantasy Close Kin (The Hollow Kingdom Trilogy, #2) by Clare B. Dunkle . It due soon at the library. Someone finally requested it so no more renewals are available. Some poor kids has probably been waiting weeks for it.

Read Florand's [bookcover:The Chocolate Thief|13585501] Outstanding!

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) @Telleluh... The Chocolate Thief (Amour et Chocolat #1) by Laura Florand is on my TBR list. =D

Are you enjoying it, Dee? It looks good. I've never read Skye Jordan.

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments So far - I'm only a couple of chapters in - but the PT is a fiesty one

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Feisty is good. :)

message 7075: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I started Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas, #1) by Charlaine Harris and am enjoying it but trying to be cautious b/c Harris always seems to go south for me eventually.

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Regina wrote: "Why am I the only one in the world that didn't like the Chocolate Thief? I hate being that one reader."

*pat pat*

Some say it's chick lit. Maybe it felt too light? Once Upon a Rose (loved it!) read like a contemporary romance. I'm reading The Chocolate Thief next. Will compare.

You're not the only one!!

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I put aside The Chocolate Thief (Amour et Chocolat #1) by Laura Florand for now, so for those that didn't like it I say give Once Upon a Rose (La Vie en Roses, #1) by Laura Florand a try. It's different - contemporary romance vs. chick lit.

I started The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston , but I think I'm in the mood for something drastically different. Maybe it's time for a historical romance or kinky BDSM erotic.

I started The Unleashing too, and it's kind of exhausting me. Relentless pace.

Re: The Unleashing...I know! The secondary/peripheral characters are driving me batty. They's a manic atmosphere with all the jabbering. I put it down and picked up The Chocolate Thief again. It's really good now. Sylvain is so vulnerable.

I started that last night and am 16% in. It's feeling a bit like the Gilmore Girls on crack - and they were already fast paced!

Gilmore Girls? I never watched the show, but I do understand the crack reference. The Crows are really all over the place. I'm only at 14%. Let's hope the plot becomes focused or this will be a long read. :(

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Regina wrote: "Which one are you starting wih? :)))))) hopefully #4 - Kiss"

It's me. I have to at least TRY to read in order. If I don't like the first, I'm going to go directly to the fourth!

message 7092: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Okay. But keep in mind it isn't really "in order". It was consecutively numbered by the publisher not the author. she herself says on her site and has said in Q&As and on her forum that the Highlander "series" was not a cohesive story arc until book #4. :D

I have heard so many people say what you have said (and on this thread or in this group!) and they drop the "series" after 1, 2 or 3 b/c they are just not strong or enjoyable. Crossing my fingers!

LOL If I don't like one, I won't even try 2 or 3. I will toss my OCD tendencies to the wind and hop straight to four! :)

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Reading The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires (Half Moon Hollow, #1) by Molly Harper . Molly Harper can be hit or miss, but this one is cute in a good way.
