This one is on my to be read list, too. There's something about this time of year when the cold is just starting to rear its ugly head that makes me want to cuddle up with historicals.

I just want to get my reading groove back. :(

That's near the top of my TBR so I can't wait to hear what you thought of it, Regina.
Just finished

I am close to quitting my job just to concentrate on reading again. Real work life has been so hard for me the past two years.
It is good so far, not the same beautiful magic as the earlier LK historicals -- but it is much better than her most recent contemporaries. I am enjoying it a lot. I believe it is a different narrator.

I don't appreciate my area enough, that's for sure.
I hope you get it back, too. It can be such a stress reliever.

I'm sorry to hear things have been tough. And I'm glad I can pimp good books your way. :)

Anyway bought the audiobook and have been listening to it. It's pretty damned good. She's kind of out there on her own as an author. She's a proper romance author so the fantasy is there, but her writing is pretty damned smart and her characters react to things in more believable ways than in most CR.

My husband and I started watching The Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime and I'm interested in reading the book. Has anyone read this author? Is he overabundant with the sci-fi lingo? I'm guessing it won't be too much in this book because it's alternate history (post WWII), and focused more on how the world would be if we'd lost the war, but I'm still curious about the writing style as a whole.

My memory of Phillip K Dick is not too heavy on the lingo. Though it also depends on the story. He wrote Blade Runner, Minority Report and Total Recall as well.

It sounds really good!"
It was decent. I wasn't thrilled with the way things were wrapped up, but I think this author brings something out of the ordinary to the genre, so I'll be looking for her next book.

That would be quite the series name!! Ha-ha! That would make this an interesting HR.

i'm itching to read the new Hart book Angie. can't wait to tear into it. glad it was so good.

i'll be starting it after i finish Fifty Shades Darker. yay!!

i finished Hold Me Close and it was awesome. i loved Effie and Heath.
now i'm reading

Also The Color of Light by Emilie Richards. Maybe more women's fiction than romance, with a spiritual thread running through it.
Rottweiler Rescue by Ellen O'Connell. Was kink of expecting a romance along the lines of her Western romances....not so much. It was OK....I think it was good....honestly I don't remember.
And Goody Two Shoes which was great fun. Perfect.

That cover on Who's Afraid? is stunning.

Isn't it! It was the main reason I requested it.

i really enjoyed

Megan Hart is a master at writing characters with depth and drama. i just love her books. i'm super glad u mentioned this book.
i totally loved Heath and was on his side the whole time. Effie was cool too, just needed to realize her destiny.
i'll definitely read this one again in the near future.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this book! Her books do have so much depth. And even when you're frustrated with her characters for their choices, it's almost like you can't be mad at them, because you know it's their messed-upedness that's causing it.

I did enjoy it after the last book which was a nightmare.
