I drank way too much Wine last night... 2 1/2 glasses hit me hard for some reason and I just went to bed at 9:30... I swear, taking aspirin before bed really works for me.

I'm adoring the book but haven't had the time to fully dedicate to reading it. There's something about the writing feels like a fulfillment of what I'd been hoping to get out of my Jojo Moyes reads but was never realized. I'm about halfway in now and the writing style is so very lovely.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments LMAO @ the timing. I just made a comment on your page.

The texts have been a lot of fun. I like that kind of thing. It's weird though because of the galley formatting the texts are showing as sentences butted up against each other, so you have to make sure you read the PoV switch. I'm sure that will be fixed with the final copy though.

message 655: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Yeah, that confused me at first... i'm sure it will be fixed.

I'm going to a concert tonight, picking up the kids a little early from school and heading out. Last time we went to this arena it took us 2 hrs to part and another hr to get into the concert so we are leaving extra early and bought VIP entrance tickets... Plus Jim gets to go backstage and meet the band. Should be fun!!

Sooo, basically I can't read much more today. Might be able to pick it up on the drive to my lovely SIL who's watching out kids tonight!!

message 656: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments fun - did I miss what concert? I'm going to Kenny Chesney in a couple of weeks, and then Tim McGraw in june

message 657: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Miranda lambert, Deirks Bentley (that's who Jim's gets to meet back stage) and I'm really excited for pistol Annie's!

Have fun Dee!! I really want to see Jason Aldean again and Brad Paisley.

I loved that song as a kid. I should have known then that I would always love the bad boys.

Haha, ya same here!

All this wine talk is making me regret not stopping at the new Total Wine store on my way home tonight! Does anyone have one of those? It is now occupying our old neighborhood Borders book store. It's amazing actually. But I can't help but feel nostalgic as I walk up to it.

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Do you live in Albuquerque? I used to live there! That shop looks like so much fun!

I just finished Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle The Benson (Experiment in Terror, #2.5) by Karina Halle I absolutely loved them but I forcing myself to take a break. I don't want to run out of these books! So I am going to read Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn -- I remember I was supposed to read that maybe with Stacia? Did you read it yet?

message 663: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Ladyhawk, we have Total Wines here in Vegas. It's a great store, but it's not too close to me. And while they were happy to order a case of a new wine I found at a wine tasting, it was a bit of a hassle. So I confess, I haven't been back since. But I understand they do tastings and things, so I should give them another try.

Welcome, Elize!

I'm in the middle of Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare , but I'm... hesitant. The Infernal Devices is my favorite part of this series, and I don't want it to end just yet.

So... I decided to plunge into Shayla Black's Ours To Love (Wicked Lovers, #7) by Shayla Black . As usual, a steamy romance (this one is a menage with BDSM, what could be bad about that - LOL) can clear my "palate" a bit.

message 664: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I'm finally getting some time to read this morning... it's slow going because I drank too many beers last night at the concert. So fun!

I'm half way thru Spirit (Elemental, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer and I now know why the reviews say this book pushes the limit or is so good. Hello Hunter!! There is more steam in this book already. I have such a major crush on Michael, I need this book!!

Ok, twist my arm! I'll put it on my tbr!

Yes, I'm in Albuquerque. I didn't know you used to live here Regina??? Where? For how long??? And you have a few books in the EiT series to get through. Though I know most of you ladies are speed reading demons.

I need to go back to Total wine too Lori. They have a great selection and they're not over priced. Btw, I can't believe up you went through TMI and TID so quickly!

Hi Elize!

message 666: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I spent a semester in grad school at UNM and ended up transferring to a different university to work with a certain professor to finalize my thesis. I lived in a not very nice area (accidentally, lol, but I realized it soon enough -- it was called the "war zone" at the time). This was in 1996. Every morning I would wake up and take my dog and we would hike in the Sandias for an hour. I completely miss that -- and a few college restaurants.

message 667: by Ladyhawk (last edited May 11, 2013 09:03PM) (new)

Ladyhawk Wow Regina that's awesome. I went to UNM too. The 'war' zone is now referred to as the 'international district'. Ha!
The Sandias are still awesome as well as the food. ;0)

Leea | 1437 comments I finished Spirit (Elemental, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer and it's such a good book. My crush on Michael got even bigger from reading this book.

I have no clue what to read next...

I hope everyone has an amazing Mother's Day tomorrow!

I was there for a writers/readers conference - we took over the Hard Rock Cafe hotel for like 5 days - for GayRomLit12 - basically a huge gathering of m/m readers/writers - it was awesome! I'd love to go back so I could sight-see some more

message 673: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Happy Mother's Day to all the moms here! Finished All Through the Night A Troubleshooter Christmas (Troubleshooters, #12) by Suzanne Brockmann It wasn't my favourite because I like stories with the initial fall in love part, but it was very sweet!

message 674: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments After finising Down London Road (On Dublin Street, #2) by Samantha Young , I am back to finishing Texas Glory (Texas Trilogy, #2) by Lorraine Heath . :)

message 675: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day.

I'm currently reading Coming Home (Jackson Falls, #1) by Laurie Breton . It's full of more angst than I expected.

message 676: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Angie, hope you liked Texas Glory... love this series.

Still don't know what to read next. Tomorrow i'll just have to pick something off my Kindle. Haha!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

message 677: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all the moms out there... I was caught up this weekend in all kinds of things, not the least of which involved in pampering and cooking for my mom. I logged on Saturday for awhile, because I was building my list on Out of Milk, but yesterday I just couldn't do it.

ANYWAY... finally finished Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare - amazing book! I kept waiting to cry... and when I got to the Prologue, that's all I seemed to be able to do. I hope that the "feeling", the nobility, and the tie-ins with The Infernal Devices continue into The Mortal Instruments - TID is the best part of that series, IMO. I wasn't completely shocked or surprised by much that happened; if you see my review of City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5) by Cassandra Clare , you'll even see that I made a prediction... I just wonder, now, how that comes about in light of the Prologue of Clockwork Princess. I'll have to ask a question in that thread...

Also got through Ours To Love (Wicked Lovers, #7) by Shayla Black , and it was OK.

Moving on to Dream Of Me - "Believe in Me" part 2 of the Viking romance. And later this week, Dirty by Megan Hart by Megan Hart.

In the meantime, I have to re-read some Experiment in Terror... BTW, anyone see last week's CSI (Las Vegas) about the ghost hunters? Made me think of Dex & Perry for like, 2 minutes - LOL!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Wasn't the ending of CP (view spoiler)

Finished Spirit (Elemental, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer yesterday and did like it but this was my least favorite book of the series so far. Overall though, I have no complaints, because this is still one of the better series I've read in a very long time.

Imo, Michael was the best part of the book. I've never had a big connection to Hunter, except for when he's interacting with one of the other guys.

So sorry I wasn't around to talk about it yesterday, Leea. Mother's Day sort of got in the way. :p

Started School Spirits (School Spirits, #1) by Rachel Hawkins and will probably start on book 2 of Dream of Me/Believe in Me (Viking & Saxon, #1 & #2) by Josie Litton tonight.

I didn't forget about the MacKinnon's Rangers book and I'm still liking it (about 2/3 through) but I had a couple scheduled reads I needed to get started on.

message 679: by D.G. (last edited May 13, 2013 01:22PM) (new)

D.G. I'm listening The Deep Blue Good-By, a book I got in today's Audible sale just because it was narrated by Robert Petkoff. So far so good.

I'm also reading Shattered Sky (Star Shards Chronicles #3) by Neal Shusterman to finish the trilogy.

I felt the same way about Hunter. But there is just something about Michael that I love. I need his book. haha!

message 681: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I don't know what to read... I might start Dream of Me/Believe in Me (Viking & Saxon, #1 & #2) by Josie Litton today. You ladies have raved about it. Wish I could have watched more episodes of Vikings before starting this.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments How far did you get into the t.v. series? I absolutely loved Dream of Me. :)

My brother's name is Michael, so it throws me off a little, but he is my favorite character, so I am with you in being excited for his book.

I wonder who will get the next .5 novella? There's been a 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, so I'm assuming there will be a 3.5.

message 683: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I finished Coming Home (Jackson Falls, #1) by Laurie Breton and I really enjoyed it.

I need to get back into the Elementals. I really liked Michael in Elemental and was disappointed that it was such a short novella. It doesn't look like we'll have his book until book 5...seems such a long time away.

Maybe she'll do on on Chris or on Michael. Fingers crossed.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I'd like to see a Chris novella. I feel like once he had his book, he's been relegated to the background.

What is up with our families having interchangeable names? My Father in Law is Tim. Your brother's name is my husband's name, my brother's name is your dad's name, our kids have the same names, etc. etc. It's so bizarre!

message 687: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Yeah, I feel the same way about Chris. He needs something to happen to him or we just need to get more of him in general.

I know it's so funny!! All the men in my family, their names are basically James, Troy, Tim (Timothy), Michael, or some combination of those. My nephew is Timothy Michael (After my dad) and my Brother it Troy Timothy (after my dad)... You get the idea.

message 688: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments Reading Robin in the Hood which is a cute story. Robin is a boarding school girl who doesn't really know her parents but has plenty of money.
When pop has a heart-attack she quickly finds herself on the run from the law and the mob and living in a trailer park with a bunch of folks who would be turned away from the average trailer park.
Has the perfect mix of odd characters and am loving it.

Robin in the Hood (Robbin' Hearts #1) by Diane J. Reed

Just read Elemental (Elemental, #0.5) by Brigid Kemmerer , which was very short and very - drat! It left me hanging! How you NOT want to read the 1st book now?

Starting "Believe In Me", the 2nd half of the Viking story from the group read.
