That's what I was thinking too...about the same storyline. That's why I haven't picked it up yet. I really liked the first few books but the last one was just not impressive at all. I still can't wait to hear what you think of it when you decide to finish it.

And it's true, my heroes have to be an likable ass!

Can I crash your buddy read, Regina, Kay, and Leea? I was supposed to do another buddy read, but it got pushed back, and I want to read this book!

I felt the same way... i'm sorry. Keep reading because with 16 + book in the series, there are bound to be some that just don't do it for you. I always found the books I wasn't that interested in or the characters were not my favorite were the books that rocked!!

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Regina wrote: "Yes please do!!!"

Thank you! I will probably start tonight.

message 458: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I finished On Demon Wings (Experiment in Terror, #5) by Karina Halle and man that book was scary in all kinds of crazy ways. the ending is a sort of cliffhanger so I cannot wait to find out what happens to our dynamic duo :)

I'm so glad we're doing a buddy read of Dancing on Coals by Ellen O'Connell because I need a genre change and something light. I have some stuff to take care of but I hope to start in a few hours. I'm trying to prep for another crazy busy fun weekend, so i'm no rushing around.

Kay, have fun in your sons class! I get to work in both boys classes tomorrow. It's going to be 95 here - say cool in the bay!

I am, too! I'm just sad that this is the last one of hers to read. :( She's right up there with Pamela Clare for me.

message 461: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I missed your post Angie, so glad you're going to join us :) you're always welcome - heck anyone is welcome. haha! It's crazy this is her last book for us to read. I wonder if something is in the works, she's a great writer?

I experienced that with Sam's book. He was my favorite Troubleshooter, but his book is my least favorite. I think I had set my expectations too high for his book.

message 465: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Tellulah, I liked Breaking Point (Troubleshooters, #9) by Suzanne Brockmann , but I, too, was annoyed by the way Brockmann told the backstory in the first 1/3rd of the book. But I still love Max & Gina, Jones & Molly, and of course Jules! But the book felt like a fragmented "Lost" episode with so much back-and-forth.

Leea - girl, you are rolling through Dex & Perry! I can understand you needing a break! Hope your son is feeling better.

Dirty by Megan Hart - Regina and company, I'm in to buddy read this whenever you are. I picked it up yesterday. I've read the Alex Kennedy books ( Tempted (Alex Kennedy, #1) by Megan Hart , Everything Changes (Alex Kennedy #1.5) by Megan Hart , and Naked by Megan Hart . I wasn't as hot on "Naked" as the other two, but they were pretty good. I'm willing to give Megan Hart another try.

I couldn't help myself. I put aside Ravished by a Highlander (Children of the Mist, #1) by Paula Quinn again in favor of Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare . Once I start on a series, it's tough to get me to stop - especially if I'm pulled in. I have to get back to the Troubleshooter series soon, too. I'm kinda bummed that I can't seem to get back into Highlander mode, though... hoping that when my massive work deadlines are over (end of software cycle, about to release end of May), that I'll be able to go back to yummy Highlander alpha males!

message 466: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Oooh--Highlanders.

Do we have a Highlander thread? Do we need a Highlander thread?

I felt the same way, Angie. I was soooo looking forward to Sam's book, and it didn't hit me the way I'd hoped. I liked the book before it better - believe that?

But I still love the Troubleshooter series... something about those hot, alpha males and those feisty females! Can't help but love 'em!

message 468: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Angie wrote: "Oooh--Highlanders.

We have a historical romances thread, which includes Maya Banks' Highlander series... But maybe we need a separate Highlander thread, instead? Dunno. Books like Anita Clenney's Warrior series cross-over into PNR as well as Highlander. But Monica McCarty and company are pretty much historical fiction/Highlander.

Mods? What do you think?

message 469: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Navarro (kanarenee) Finished Storm, starting on Spark (Elemental, #2) by Brigid Kemmerer

message 470: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Lori what did you think of Tempted? I liked it.

message 471: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Lori that would be great if you would join us in reading Dirty!

Leea | 1437 comments Angie wrote: "Oooh--Highlanders.

Well... We should have a few HR threads you could use but let me pow wow with the other mods and see. :)

message 473: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I finished Dancing on Coals by Ellen O'Connell and it was so good, I just love O'connell's characters.

My sons sick so I have to stay home and not go to the family Rivercats game - which sucks so i'm going to read something on my Kindle that I need to read.

Taken by Selena Kitt , I haven't read a Kitt book in such a long time.

Lori (lorimcd) Regina wrote: "Lori what did you think of Tempted? I liked it."

I liked it, too. It was sad, but good. I liked Alex's POV in "Everything Changes", although the cover is stupid, since it implies something m-m, which doesn't happen. I was in a menage phase for awhile - LOL!

Just say "WHEN" to start in on Dirty.

message 480: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Leea, that's a wild book! Short, too. I got it on a freebie (also in my menage phase). :-D

message 481: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments Haha. And since I did, I had to go with the thriller theme and start Kate's book.

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments my copy of Dirty should be here Monday (it was on 4-14 day shipping, but the UBS was in the same, so i'm hoping sooner rather than later) - I think we said 15th ish, so a potential start date

I don't usually have that problem if I get up first thing in the morning and start going. But if I laze around in bed reading, I won't get to it. LOL
