Jennifer | 1747 comments You can if you want to but you don't have to. People can't leave comments on w/e pics you post. The only way anyone can say anything to u is if u post a question post on tumblr or have an "ask" link on ur page. You can choose whether to have it there or not. Picture wise ppl mostly post random internet pics and fanart. But there are some on there who will post a regular pic here and there. Haha its ok.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh ok. I guess that makes sense now. Interesting.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: Do you have or want a new tattoo or new piercing?

message 204: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'm getting my belly button pierced next week and if all goes well then I'll get a couple of more done and also thinking seriously about getting a tattoo next month. I already have a couple of designs in mind and my sister is sketching them out for me

message 205: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments A lot of SK fans posted their tattoos on fb and many of my friends and colleagues have tats, I really would like to get one but I can't as I am allergic to some of the colours and I just don't want to find out I am reacting when the colour is already under my skin. So, no I will not have a tat *cry, sniff, water my eyes*

As for GR I read that amazon wanted to buy it but I don't know what will happen if they do. They will probably send you messages that you can buy certain types of books from them after they checked out your reading lists...

message 206: by Kimmi (new)

Kimmi (kimmi_wakefield) | 3 comments I got my 4th tattoo about 3 weeks ago and as soon as I lose a little more weight I'm getting my belly button pierced. I can't wait!!

message 207: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments I want to get a tattoo but i haven't the courage to tell my mom that i'm thinking of inking my skin. (i know, it's my skin. i should be able to do whatever but still...)

Oh btw, i also like tumblr better than other sites like facebook or twitter. swing by my blog @ ariannekic.tumblr.com =)

message 208: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I understand that arianne but I have that issue with my dad. I know I'm gonna do it anyway but I know my dad isnt going to be happy. He flipped when my sister got that Monroe piercing and she just was impulsive about it. seen a shop one day walking home and went in and got it. I'm a bit nervous about his reaction

message 209: by Jennifer (last edited Apr 04, 2013 12:53PM) (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments I only have one extra piercing. Second hole in bottom of earlobes. Not interested in anything else. A small tattoo would be nice but knowing the ingredients in the inks keep me at bay on that with paranoia LOL. Besides, don't wanna give my mom a heart attack haha.

message 210: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Have the standard one hole in each ear piercings. But I don't want more even though I think a eye brow or upper ear cartilage is cool. As for tats I have a few design ideas but am muy scared of needles. And do to all this allergy to the ink talk that has me wondering about that possibility as well. Those two issues aside I think I would get one. But still likely well after I got a job first. I would hate to get one and have it be a splurge purchase and still no work under my belt.

New question: If you could, do you think you would ever want to be a part of a reality show? Rather with your family/significant other or maybe one where you and other random participants are learning something from one another? Or even just have it be more fun(not Jersey Shore fun per se, lol. Maybe like Real World or something).

message 211: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments no way, stripping oneself bare in front of millions of viewers for your 15 min of fame, unthinkable. And once you have been in the limelight everyone things they have a right to go through your trash or know the colour of your poop, that is not my idea. I don't think you can learn much in a reality show (especially when it is a good chance to be voted out by whoever) and there are only a few who made it to a certain stardome or at least getting successful in the show biz afterwards.

message 212: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I don't think I would ever really go through it cause I like my privacy but me and my sister actually considered doing the Real World a few years back. Well more like she tried to guilt trip me into doing it because she didnt wanna do it by herself. We looked up the requirements and what we needed to do to get an interview and everything......and then she had a baby

message 213: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I actually don't think I could do it simply cause I know I don't do enough crap in a day that is worth the world seeing. Nor does my family. We are definitely dysfunctional for sure and don't need other people loving it or dissecting it. And not only that but most reality shows are really silly to me.

As for the reality shows where you learn something. I was actually meaning ones like this newest one I saw. Forever Young with X amount of older people being in a house with X amount of younger peeps. And they have to do various activities together. And learn to bridge the gap between both generations. Which I think for the most part is pretty cool for those that don't have that.

That's interesting Shari. Sounds like the sis was really goading you into it then had to bow out at last minute on ya. Guess it is a good thing you didn't have to go through it though and got to be an auntie instead.

New question: If you could be Willy Wonka for a day, what kind of candy would you invent in your Chocolate Factory?

message 214: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (last edited Apr 06, 2013 10:35PM) (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I would have to say if I was Wonka I would invent new flavors of gummi bears or even new flavors for Mike and Ikes. Like maybe cinnamon flavored or a juicy fruit flavor (as in the gum, love that flavor). For the mike and ikes maybe do a chocolate and vanilla mix. Have it called chocolate creams or something.

New Question: What's your author pen name?

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: If you could be any kind of paranormal or supernatural being (vampire, werewolf, fae, troll, etc.) what would you be and why? Also what would you do with your abilities?

message 218: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments Depending on which world's definition, i would probably go with an Elf. More of the kind in D&D or LOTR, not the short little ones.

I love how they are basically part of nature. In most Sci-Fi/Fantasy they are kind, work with nature not against it, are usually decent, good & smart fighters and very deep emotions. Not sure what i would do. I guess it depends on if it is like current times, or something from the past/fictional? Probably lots of exploring, traveling, etc. Find a group of folks and have an adventure! (alternatly i would say Time Lord and i would have tons of fun travling in my TARDIS)

message 219: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh cool Valerie. Elves can be pretty interesting for sure. However I would like to be a witch a la Charmed style. Having active powers that can help me through daily life with stuff would have been awesome. Particularly telekinesis or Temporal Statis/ability to freeze time. Would be awesome to have either of those powers. If not that version of things maybe something like Bewitched too. But definitely nothing like Sabrina the teenage witch style. As that magic was a bit too hilarious to be practical. Wouldn't mind having Salem the cat though, even though I'm not a cat person, lol.

New Question: If you could time travel either to the past or the future. Which would you choose and to what time period?

message 220: by Manuela (last edited Apr 09, 2013 01:12AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I think I settled previously for demi-god, I thought we had that question somewhere else before. But only if I don't have to deal with the stress at the Parthenon and the sibbling rivalry and the jealousy etc. etc. etc.

Time travel is fascinating but dangerous. Can they see you? Can you interact with the people you meet? It would be a brain melt to think about the consequences if you bring something from the future or if you cause an accident, etc... I'd love to go to the Highlands of Scotland in the 16th century but I am afraid that most is not as described in the love novels and also I am very close to my creature comforts, so I would prefer only daytrips or short stays. Then I have to admit that I suffer from allergies and have to wear glasses, how to explain that? Can't take contact lenses into the past... LOL
The future would be frightening. I don't want to know whether my plans turned out to be successful or not. I don't want to know what will happen, I am afraid of being disappointed or even angry.

message 221: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments Valerie, I'm so in love with your display photo! (I've been wanting to do a plushie of an adipose to go along with the Tardis plushie I made)

On the subject of time travelling, I'd love to go travelling the past. I wouldn't want to alter how things go, I'd just want to be there to witness how history unfolded. There's so many events in the past that I'd love to see with my own eyes --ancient greece, the building of the pyramids in egypt, Vikings!, victorian england and much much more.

message 222: by Valerie (last edited Apr 09, 2013 06:11AM) (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments Arianne you can actually buy a plushie and they have an adipose stress toy. I'd love to see your TARDIS. Wish i could do that!

Time travel..Well..I have a list of what i would love to do. (happens when you watch lots of time travel shows). one of the first woudl be Midieval England assuming i could avoid the battles, etc. Love the castles, swords, knights...all that. Have to go to the future at some point just to see how it changed. One specific time would be in the 70's so i could see my late hubby playing hockey (before the injury the ending his playing).

message 223: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments As far as supernatural being, I'd love to be a werewolf. Like the Lycans in Underworld. They seem to still have control of their more animalistic counterpart and immortality. My senses would be out of this world and of course having the superhuman strength to go with it. And any other wolf like behavioral characteristics. Since I've always had love for wolves, this was a no brainer. I could ho live in a cabin out in the woods near a small city. Not a town tho, it always ends badly werewolves live in towns

As for a time period I'd want to go to the future. The future where there are flying friggin cars >.< The Jetsons said we'd have em, the Fifth Element said we'd have em and yet...we don't. So yes I'd like to be where the flying cars are. :-P

message 224: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments On some level and once upon a time I would have been with you on being a were if I could. Given the whole duality of the being. But knowing me with my usual worry and stress about things would have me all wolfed out all the time and totally give away what I am and end up in a lab some place, lol. That and the fact that I love wearing silver jewelry and would hate to be of the breed that would get burned or branded wearing it so yea, definitely not a good time to be a were.

HAHA, I love you Shari. I so would love to go to the future where it is like Fifth Element. That was epic. Not a fan of the aliens per se. But definitely would love to be part of a future like that with that white outfit she watched. I would also like to go back to the past and at least try on some of those dresses from the Victorian era. Not one for the whole whale bone and petticoat experience. But they were definitely very classic and most tasteful for sure.

New Question: What is one fashion trend do you wish never started or one you wish would take off that you currently rock right now?

message 225: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments @Valerie: I love crafting (especially when I have the time) so I wanted to make one for myself. here's a my Tardis plushie (hand sewn) with some papercrafts I made

I have this unrealistic dream of seeing women in corsets, crinolines and bustles. I just fancy the entire regency england.

message 226: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments That is so awesome Arianne! Very nice. I so need to learn to sew and try I make one.

message 227: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Would have to say that I think the one trend that I wish never got started was that of spandex and stir up pants.

Arianne that is a really cool Dr. Who plushiethingiemabob. Same for yours Valerie. Although it sort of reminds me of the frosted mini wheats commercial a bit. I didn't realize there was such a big community with the Dr. Who show that consisted of fans making plushie items. Very cool ladies.

New Question: If you could undo one thing in your life, what would it be and why? And what would you do to make it better?

message 228: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I was very shy as a teenager, even if I looked outspoken (which was a defence mechanism) and forward it took me a lot of collecting my courage to speak to people (see my meeting with Jeff Bridges, no I did not speak to him, too shy :( ). I would love to have more courage and live more in the here and now, instead of being off in my fantasy world. A friend of mine said once that it takes a long time to get to know me (for being friends) but when that has happened you can steal apples with me. Thought that rounded it up nicely.

message 229: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments Hmm...Lots of 'if I could change.." thoghts here. I would have been a bit more social with other groups in high school, been more honest w/a few people and about dealing with depression back then(even if it was not that bad) which would have probably beena huge help to my confidence. I have also thought about a few things i would do differently with a specific relationship in the past. of course, that would have most likely changed my time with my hubby (if i got toegher with him at all) so no telling.

message 230: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I have plenty as well. From fighting with a crush to not insisting on going away to college(although that was a logical enough choice as there is no way in the H-E-L-L I could have afforded the room and board even with a part-time job). But honestly I don't think I would change any of that stuff. Be great if some of the regrets weren't so many but hey plenty more life to live to not regret as many things either.

New Question: Have you ever considered making a bucket list(and a bucket list for those that don't know, is a list of goals/things you wish to achieve before you die. Usually fun stuff but I'm sure can be serious things too)? If so what is on it? And have you achieved any items off of it already? (even though you obviously aren't going to pass on any time soon of course).

message 231: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Yes, a lot, not as many as I would like to have done...

message 232: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments LOL, I love short answers but then you all put me in the corner everytime when I read what you all write and then I feel compelled to write more and we are by then already in the next question... LOL

I have a few items I would like to do like
-traveling to Scotland
-go on the Rocky Mountaineer and stay at Lake Louise
-go back home to Germany
-have a baby
-find out what a Scotsman wears underneath his kilt
-learn to ride a horse
-get a dog
-loose some weight
-read books
-ok, I am doing this anyway but read more books
-learn another language or improve one of those that I started to learn but never moved past the first semester
-have I mentioned to read books?
-get more active/do sports
-winning in Lotto

... to be continued

I started walking with a friend but (just like today) there is lately always something that gets between us, grrrrrr
I do read, a lot
I can't travel much as it costs a fortune and hubby and I paying a house off now.
the lotto wins so far haven't exceeded the $30 mark but I can hope and dream :).

message 233: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Wow that is a lot of great stuff Manuela. And a lot of it looks very doable. I honestly have no clue what the heck I would put on a bucket list aside from getting in some travel to different places in the U.S. (Vegas, Disney, Florida, California, New York), try some different kinds of foods, go to a concert, definitely read more books, even though not really big into fitness I would love to try out dance exercise class, taking a few cooking lessons, get married and have a family, clear my debts, finally learn how to walk in heels properly, buy 1 flattering dress that I actually like to wear, and maybe add one little black dress for my closet too wouldn't hurt. Haha, I guess I could come up with some things for a bucket list or at the very least a get up off the couch list.

New Question(delayed as I could not get on GR at all after a certain point for some reason): If you had the chance to be a character on your favorite tv show, who would you be ? Or would you rather be a new character on the same show and what would your character be like?

message 234: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Buffy the friggin vampire slayer HA....she was the first to come to mind

message 235: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments before Buffy and Angel there was a vampire cop named Nick Knight, I would have loved to be bitten by him then...

message 236: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments We are three sisters in the family. We always like to imagine that we are the Halliwell sisters from Charmed.

message 237: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Interesting choices ladies. I would definitely want to be in Charmed. Be a witch or a white lighter. Or when I was younger on the cartoon show Captain Planet, lol. Always wanted to have abilities over elements in nature.

New Question: What is the most anticipated book(s) have you been waiting for? And once you've read them were they worth the wait or no?

message 238: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Arianne wrote: "We are three sisters in the family. We always like to imagine that we are the Halliwell sisters from Charmed."

Haha awesome Arianne. Always wished to have abilities like Prue or Piper.

message 239: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Wow, guess some of the most anticipated books aren't that hot I guess. And I was looking forward to really getting into Inferno too.

New Question: How do you eat Oreos?

message 240: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Waited for Born of Silence and sucked it in and loved it, still waiting on my libraries to get Lover at Last, but i have read some of the reviews here and I am not sure now what to expect.

message 241: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments not anymore, too sweet...

message 242: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments How are you liking Lover Reborn Manuela?

And honestly I only ever eat the oreos that come out around Christmas time. The ones with the white fudge. They sell the little 8 in a box pack. And so I get two boxes and some egg nog around that time of year and that is my holiday treat/tradition for myself.

message 243: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments The few books I was 'waiting' for were more like 'yeah, i will read it when it comes out/next in series' etc. Not all have been great but not that bad. Got Inferno but have not started it yet.

As for the Oreo's....Sometimes it depends on my mood. Most often, dunk in milk. Sometimes seperate & dunk, sometimes crumble on top of icecream...Mm....Now i want some Oreo's! Glad I don't have any and no money to get them.

message 244: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Many different ways to have them then I take it Valerie. I'm not usually a big cookie eater. Actually for that matter most sweets. But when I do have them like them traditional or with that one little extra something to them, like the white fudge during the holidays.

New Question: Thought I would choose an interesting flip on the what are we reading question we normally see in other groups or in general on this site. And ask instead what are you DREADing right now?

As in are you dreading an upcoming work project? Doing your taxes this year? Or even hosting some guests this weekend you aren't really looking forward to seeing?

Read only the first two pages so far, wanted to keep it so I can read it back to back with lover at last but it is not working out. I also have to return Caillens story from the Born of series un-re-read because I am running out of time (damn kindle, everytime I should read my paperbooks I end up reading some download). I have read it before (was my first) so no big deal (although my ego is bruised now), I can get it again later. I finished Frozen Heat, now I have another compilation of SK and two other writers to read. After that it is Lover Reborn all through the end, have to return it too. The library is really putting pressure on me now!!!!

message 246: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments New question! I have uninvited my mom from coming to visit as my place is not hospitable right now. I am just recovering from a bad year of depression (undiagnosed) and I lost my cat. Work keeps me from falling too deep into a hole but I am hiding behind those books I am reading and dreading when I feel the time for the clean up. It will come, probably faster than I think. That will be a massive mission. I guess when I am finished with the pile of books I have from the library I will not get new ones and I will start reading those 700+ that I downloaded as freebies from various book dealers... (that will also help finishing off reading my Santa books)- one down two more to go.

message 247: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Definitely sounds like a heck of a lot of what you are going through there Manuela. Hope everything pans out from reads, depression, and your mom visiting. Big hugs and well wishes to you.

As for me dreading anything. I would have to say nothing too major to dread save for the job part of things.

New Question: What is the most irritating thing about the internet in your opinion?

message 248: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments that I am addicted and can't get off it once I am on it!!!! Social media like Goodreads and facebook where I have too many things to read and check out...
Before I had wireless I would have said, the wait on everything, now I can't complain... but the day is still not long enough for all of it... It is just tooo much... ;)

PS My mom is coming next year, I am saving for going to Germany in December...

message 249: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments The fact you have to pay an exorbitant amount of money to get access and it is expected that everyone have it. If we all SHOULD have it, it should be free or at least way more affordable. And the fact that there are data limits is just total BS. Just people wanting to make more money. I have a wi-fi hotspot so i can do work from home when needed (like ill, appoitments, etc). Limited to 5 gb per month. All it takes is a little fun on youtube or tardisblue.net and I get charged $10 for every GB i go over.

Other than that, the addiction factor is next. Sorry for the rant..just one of those annyoing things.

message 250: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Totally understandable Valerie. My dad used to complain about the same thing til we switched to wi-fi as well. It is definitely ridiculous. That aside I second the thoughts over the net being super addicting. And will also add what I find to be super irritating at times is those sites that say they will remember your ID and they don't and you have to keep re-signing in all the time. Or in general when you join sites where you have a common interest and then before long there ends up being freaking trolls that bring down forums or the group. So I definitely hate that about the internet.

New Question: What is one of the most surprisingly good reads you have thus far and would you recommend it?
