Question Of The Day

College comes after high school and university comes after college.
I assume in USA college and university is the same thing."
Kinda and kinda not. Colleges are basically schools after high school that you can go to to get a bachelor's degree. A university is a school that you take after going to college or high school and it's where most graduate degrees such as Masters and Ph.D's are earned. But you can choose to get a bachelor's degree at a university if you want to also.
But oftentimes you'll find many colleges on the same campus as a university. So sometimes the colleges on campus aren't entirely separate from the university. The colleges on campus are usually if not always part of the university, just a separate section or path of it.

University is where you study Bachelor and Master Degrees.
At A-level the subjects are designed to fit courses taken into University.
A-level subjects include:

The reward you get for BTEC is Entry Level, Level 1, 2, 3, (4), (5)

It seems confusing."
Haha I totally worded that wrong. How many weeks you go per session. Or as defined by an online dictionary: a half-year term in a school or college, typically lasting fifteen to eighteen weeks.
A quarter: The difference is the amount of weeks you are in the class. A quarter school (like PCC) is comprised of 4 terms per year: fall, winter, spring, and summer term (optional) each lasting 11-12 weeks

That's a great thing you're doing Shari! I think it would so great for there to be more people who can do pro massages! Especially since a lot of areas don't have a ton of them

What kind of art do you do? Landscapes? People? Abstract?

Ummm, nature and animals mostly. I wanna illustrate so I gotta work on (people) anatomy, (that darn) perspective, and whatever mini-studies of objects/whatever I wanna draw.
Rn I just work with ink pens and markers since it's easier in that there's no rough sketch and it looks clean on the paper (cuz I'm too much of a perfectionist) (but i'm trying to cut down on that by having no rough sketch so i'm forced to accept mistakes). Atm I'm aiming to have the whole sketchbook done with no pencil. The downside of no rough sketch is that it takes more time if you're drawing based on detail (which I do).

When the world, leaves you feeling blue

Shaggy's skinny condition and him eating a lot was just meant to be a joke nothing serious. Most people attribute it to cartoon-logic. But it could just be that he has a skinny body structure with a high metabolism.
Meaning he can eat and eat and almost never gains weight because most of the food just goes right through him. For instance, I have a small frame and as a child I never ate veggies and would forever eat carbs and sugary foods. I've never gotten fat and most of it just went right through me. And still does cuz I have a high metabolism. Even if i'm not active and exercising I don't gain weight.

Olaf from Frozen. I just hate him and he's so annoying. He doesn't do much for the plot and I thought his song was overrated and boring.

Exactly. I don't think he really adds anything to the group.

Never really thought much about Shaggy's weight or size all that much. Scrappy and Thelma were usually my peeps on the show. The one's I never really understood doing much was Daphne and Freddie.
As for characters I wish I could have eliminated from another cartoon. Was actually John and Garfield from their own show lol. I strangely enough liked Nermil the kitten and Odie best.

That should prove to be interesting then. I wish you luck on completing your book and you learn more about your art and ability as you progress through your book.

Awww thanks Shari!
I thought that Daphne didn't really do much to begin with. Until I watched the New Scooby Doo movies (the darker ones). Daphne actually did stuff in them.

Haha yea. Something about kittens and dogs will do it to me every time.

Oooo this one's good!
So in elementary school there was another girl named Taylor in my class (we were in every class together in elementary school except for like two of the grades). Anyway, ever since kindergarten she was always the "perfect" student and teacher's pet. I was the Taylor that was overshadowed by her seemed perfection.
In 1st grade I tried being her friend and she kept dunking my head under the water of her pool for fun after I told her to stop and that I couldn't swim. Skip to 4th grade I attempt to be nice to her hoping that she has changed her ways. I tell her who my crush was. I made her pinkie promise not to tell anyone at all and told her I take such promises and secret-holding very seriously. She told my crush I liked him. Attempted friendship try #2 scrapped and in the trash to be lit on fire by her devious ways as she could not be trusted.
4th grade she really was the perfect girl in the class. The teacher would always nag at me for nothing while other Taylor did no wrong. She even got to put the grades for an assignment into the computer. The teacher promised me I could one day. That day never came and it was almost always other Taylor at the desk with the binder. We would raise our hands to answer the questions at the same time. Nonetheless, it was the other Taylor who was always called upon.
Cut to high school and we don't see each other because thankfully we go to different high schools. There she is. I saw her. Working at the ice cream place near our elementary school. My favorite ice cream place (as ice cream is my fav dessert) of which I frequent more routinely than most people. We greet each other with feigned surprise and excitement and as she smiles there be a front tooth missing. The other Taylor was perfect to the world no more.
I took this as karma treating me well. I smile in satisfaction as she hands me my ice cream and I say thanks. (I never did ask how her tooth got to be no more and I don't wanna know). (She now has a replacement tooth fyi and works with her bff from 2nd grade at the ice cream place).
Karma really is sweet and cold. Like ice cream.

I can't remember when someone had gotten themselves in a Karma. Backfire of your enemies is sweet.

Oooo this one's good!
So in elementary school there was another gi..."
Your story totally reminds me, me of why I never told ANYBODY my feelings on different guys in school. Just never liked being that vulnerable, and at anybody's mercy for revealing my biz. And also having the dude being a butt hole when he found out.
But yea, karma does show up in sneaky ways.

Now, for anybody that knows me personally and in real time. Even if it doesn't always seem like it on here. I'm one of the most laid back people on the planet. And I have never, not once, said I know EVERYTHING about ANYTHING. If anything, I know a little something about a few things. And I take things at my own pace. It may not be warp speed, but it's not tortoise speed either. Just who and how I am.
But apparently, for "Cathy" that never seemed to be good enough. She always would have to come behind me and re-organize things. Act like I was making her life miserable if I wasn't moving fast enough. Would even try and make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about in regards to receiving our supplies in. When I would be the one that has gone back to the back dock, looked on the truck AND in the back up freezer back there. And DID NOT, see what she said should have been there. Would even try and say how "precious", I was saying this or that. And that I wasn't filling the floor good enough.
All of which, would annoy the living daylights out of me when having to work with her. I mean I get she was with the company longer than myself. And 12 or so years older than me. But dude, she was majorly riding my last nerve. But I wanted to show I was an adult and could get along with others, even if they drove me nuts, and I never brought up what she did with our managers.
And over time, we eventually found things about each other to respect(Me: Her OCD ways about organizing things and getting through particular tasks quickly enough to be able to lend a hand when need be. Her: Respecting the fact that I show up on time, get the work done, actually follow directions, don't duck out of important work that doesn't get us behind to do the bare minimum like some of our other co-workers), and eventually have a pretty decent rapport between us. We even poke fun a bit at each other about stuff sometimes. Good naturedly. And I just discovered she is a type A kind of person. And was doing the same ish to others really, and just was trained far differently than I was. But we both had a common vision of keeping the bakery running up to snuff.
Fast forward to last week, two days ago actually. She was telling me about this customer that wanted a cake with a copyrighted image on it. To which she told her that we can't do those AT ALL(which is a major offense and a major fine). That was Saturday as I had to help her with the next day production reports(in simpler terms, scan a bunch of stuff, so we can see what needs to be baked for tomorrow, cookies, pies, and how much you need to take out the freezer to be thawed and sold).
Then come Sunday, I find out from one of the deli back up managers/and someone I'm cool with. That apparently at 9:30 that morning, when "Cathy" had come into work. They told her that she was going to be taking a "paid" vacation, because apparently when she told the customer she refused to do that image for her. And once management had gotten involved and tried to make her, she refused again. And even when they had to call corporate type higher ups about it. And they said she HAD to do it, and again refused. They said she was "out" for insubordination and would be getting investigated do to the $25,000 fine that would be pending against her, in regards to that copyrighted image.
Now even though I get that it's never nice or kind to kick someone when they are down. And although "Cathy" and I have gotten onto a better footing. And although I would never wish any of this kind of drama on anybody. But a small smidgen part of me feels like this is well over do karma for her. As she hasn't always been the best of people to not just myself, but quite a few of the deli people, our direct supervisor, etc. more times than not. And sometimes for truly NO reason. So although I feel for her and would naturally back her up, cause she was very much in the right for refusing to do that image. But, yea, can't help but feel like it's that moment in life/movies, where the clouds part and the hellajuah song is playing.

Wait, so was it the corporate people that put the $25,000 fine on her for refusing to do the image? That part confuses me.
I bet it smells nice to work in a bakery all day.

This site actually explains more about the legalities of this kind of thing:
http://americandreamcakes.com/wordpre...
And the big problem with the copyrighted stuff is that people don't just keep things to themselves these days. They share it on Facebook, or whatever public platform. And that's when it gets out to the rightful owners, that someone is using their image(s) and nobody contacted them about usage. And they have a right to action against the person that used that image.
What is so crazy is that a corporate person WOULD say that Cathy had to do it in the first place. And store management was no better in throwing her under the bus either. Like how are you going to do that to one of your employees? And given how much she does for the department. We have like the DH, and 3 back up managers helping out in the bakery as we are super understaffed with Cathy gone right now. So it has royally screwed the pooch for the department. And I kind of wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to come back after this.
Oh yes, it does smell awesome and can sometimes sample and eat on a few extra cookies at times. But having a lot of work with re-stocking the floor, baking, etc. with so few people on...the struggle is real working there at times. And can be kind of stressful too.
