That's awesome Rachel. Sounds like you had quite the adventure. Haha, loved the part about showing your friend's husband your real. Kind of reminds me when my mom used to say stuff like, "talking to your imaginary friends in the box, today?" When I would talk to people online. It's like they are real people, I'm not grown making folks up, lol.

Which place did you like the best? I think I've heard a time or two how nice Denver is for the resorts. And it being more scenic.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome to the group Rumell. And I'm happy to hear it. Sorry that you weren't feeling as well before. I forgot to ask you, have you read any of Kenyon's books before, by chance?

message 3304: by Mystic Orange (new)

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) I have.

Rachel Smith (rlsauthor) | 626 comments Dhfan, I loved both. The Boulder part was research for my shifter series, and Denver was attending the Romance Writers of America conference.

My favorite day of the trip was the day driving in the mountains. I have my pride lands all marked out, and we were able to drive through a significant portion of it. And I found the heart of my lands, where the alpha's house is. It was magical. I slammed on the brakes and pulled over to the shoulder really fast because there it was almost exactly like I'd imagined it.

Wow, nice. Sounds like a truly awesome trip all the way around. And very multi-purposed. But have to admit I love the part about seeing your characters in the real life setting. Can really see how the story comes together better for sure.

5/5? That's great. We'll have to chat in some other threads about different characters and all that.

*hulk huggles* Have missed you around these parts as well Shari. That's really cool on the vacations. I had 12 days off(vacay week and some days) myself from work. But unfortunately the majority of it was spent cleaning/re-arranging my room and starting on the basement too. I caught up on some of my DVR'd movies and did get to see Darkest Minds though for the 'fun' portion of my time off.

But for next year when I earn 2 weeks vacay off, I'm going to make some plans to go anywhere and totally do NOTHING!

message 3313: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments *superman tackle hugs* Totally missed yall and definitely took huge breaks from GR. I'm really trying to get back into interacting with everyone.

Well on the up side, you finally got to do something you probably didnt have time for. Now it's something off your checklist. Did you finish rearranging everything!? Next time, definitely go on a mini vacay. That's something to look forward to.

message 3314: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Mhmm, totally understandable. Always good to take some time away to take care of yourself and re-group.

True enough. Salvation Army definitely knows me quite well for so much stuff I donated in that time too. And not quite, as we just have so much junk in the basement. And still have the guest room to do as well. Not to mention, with me being back to work and just down to 2 days off a week again. It's going to take even longer. But we'll figure it out.

Rachel Smith (rlsauthor) | 626 comments Hey, Shari!

Colorado was AWESOME. I had the best time. Every bit as good as meeting SK and Disney World last year.

message 3316: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Wow that's a glowing comparison. I definitely need to vacation there one day. I've always been curious to visit. I'm glad you had such an amazing time.

message 3318: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome to post one Rumell.

message 3319: by Mystic Orange (last edited Aug 16, 2018 09:26AM) (new)

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) Okay.

Question: What question are you still wondering to ask and yet still haven't found an answer yet?

Me: How many comment have I made all together in Goodreads and how do I find out?

message 3320: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That is a good question. I wonder if it's in our profiles somewhere we haven't paid much attention to before.

My ultimate question is how do you find a proper work/life balance. So things aren't falling through the cracks all the time.

Marie | 1448 comments If you click on the last icon on the upper right side of the website, you see an icon that looks vaguely like a person's silhouette behind a book (or, possibly, it's your profile pic). A list appears: profile, friends, groups, discussions, comments, reading challenge, etc.

You go on comments and you'll be able to view every comment you've ever made.. they are sorted by order of the most recent to the oldest. There is something at the top that says "Recent posts (showing number of comments shown on this page of number of comments total)"

Mine says "Recent posts (showing 1-50 of 1,834)"

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) Question: If you had to build a funky crazy house what would it be made out of?

This dis-includes regular objects such as: Bricks, Stone or Wood.

Me: I would build a house made of sparkly stars.

And for some reason the sparkly stars answers reminds me of the whimsy of that Stardust movie. So that would be interesting.

I'd want a house like the one from the Elemental Assassin series. Not sure what it would be built from exactly. But I would want something that could tell me when someone tried to break in or was up to know good on my property. Maybe out the jewels or something that doesn't look really expensive. But I remember the author had often said that jewels were often sounding like they were full of themselves for being the prettiest and best. But if someone died wearing them or was hurt holding them or something. The pain and trauma would sync into them as well. So being able to have the ability to pick up on that from your house, would be really cool and interesting.

That's a cool, creative question!

Hmmm the first thing that comes to mind is that I would have my house made of moonlight, gemstones/crystals, and clouds!

The gemstones, crystals, and moonlight would make up the walls. The furniture and floor would be made of clouds kinda like in Carebears. The clouds could be stormy or not depending on what color I wanted them to be! The ceiling would be storm clouds and the lightning would be the lights in the house! I could turn on the thunder and have it crank out some beats depending on what song I wanted to listen to. But each song would be translated to various levels of thunder with background vocals being translated to thunder that sounded far away! :D

The doorknobs would be carved gemstones all smooth and each door would be a slab of a different gemstone! This is so much fun to think about ;D

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) Question: What is your MBTI personality type?

Me: INTJ

If you are unaware you can do MBTI test online.

message 3333: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments It's been a minute since I've done mine. But I've always found based off my mood at the moment I'm often something Introverted Thinking Judging/Feeling. Will have to do a updated one to see what it says.

message 3334: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Smith (rlsauthor) | 626 comments Always INTJ. As in an extreme INTJ. There's no waffling with me, lol.

I got behind on The 100 while I was gone last month and now my dad's off work for the next two weeks. I may not get to finish the season until he goes back to work. I hate watching TV on my computer. Especially The 100. It's so much easier to see all the little things on the big TV.

Okay, time out. Point taken and received on both sides. But please remember to stay respectful to one another in the group please. This is just one discussion thread and we have plenty more. And everyone gets a turn to share and speak their mind fairly and evenly. And we all post things at our own pace at times. Just have to be mindful of that at times.

What are you studying?

As for me, biggest thing I did to challenge myself was to shave off all my hair. So it can grow out in it's naturally curly state as opposed to using relaxers to straighten my hair. And also in general figure out what my hair likes and doesn't like as it's been pretty damaged over the last several years. But it's worth it to get my hair healthy once more.
