Nolan wrote: "@Christine Do you have any favorite books or authors in particular?"I love mysteries and thrillers, Nolan. I have a lot of favs, including Brian Freeman, S.J. Bolton, Tess Gerritsen. I love the dark ones. I also like indie writers. Margaret Atwood is one on your list that I'm anxious to get to--do you have a fav or hers, Nolan?
Nolan

Because she is an icon and I have read nothing of hers!
I love Margaret Atwood! My favorite is The Handmaid's Tale, but I have also read Surfacing, Oryx and Crake, and The Year of the Flood. Really hope to get to MaddAddam soon.
@Nolan - I think it matters where you are in reference to your stand on women's rights and religion. I find it very relevant to today's world. But I've seen others that find it dry and improbable.
Wow....maybe you should check my profile for my favorite's shelf, LOL.J.R.R.Tolkien, Elizabeth Moon (her Paksenarrion books), Mark Greaney, Jim Butcher, Benedict Jacka...Then of course there are books rather than authors.
I liked Webber well enough when I read the first HH novel. I burned out on the series rather badly though. I don't know if they got weaker or if I just (as I said) burned out on it.I only read one book by McDevitt and didn't really get into it so I never followed it up...
Matter of taste. We won't all agree on each book.
HiMy name is Natasha and I live in Kentucky. I'm a single mother and I like reading erotica, thrillers, urban street lit.

Hi everyone, my name is Carl. I live in the uk. I love action thrillers and also legal thrillers. My favourite authors are Jeffrey Deaver, Lee Child, Harlan Coben, Karin Slaughter, John Grisham, Mark Gimenez.
I've met Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver and Harlan Coben in person. Gotten signed books from Jeffrey Deaver and Lee Child. I am always looking for something new so joined this group hoping to get some suggestions (and meet some great people).
Welcome Carl,

Have added some threads for recommendations of authors.

Hello~My name is Masha and I am 17 years old. I live in Canada and enjoy reading all sorts of genres (although thrillers are probably my favourite).
I'm looking forward to being in this group :D
Yes indeed. I love his book the Lincoln lawyer. That was the first I ever read I think. Stunning. I actually have a load of his books at the moment from my local library
I would recommend the Scarecrow by him Carl if you have that book!
Welcome to the new members. You will never run out of books to read here. I have been introduced to many great authors since joining.

Hi Carl, I like your taste in authors. I had the pleasure of meeting William Kent Krueger and Brian Freeman yesterday at separate events. Both extremely nice people. Bought books and got autographs. Got to talk to both. A real thrill.
Thank you Lavada, Dawn, Christine, and Janet! And yes, I hope the next 80 years of my life will be filled with books, haha :)
Hi All,I grew up in Scotland in the 50s and 60s - so my earliest reading was authors like John Buchan, Alistair Maclean and Hammond Innes before I moved onto the likes of Ian Fleming, John Le Carre, Len Deighton, Ken Follet, Frederick Forsyth, John Gardner and Gavin Lyall. I live in Los Angeles now - a place where you need to dive into a good thriller every so often to escape the insanity!
Hi Markus,
Thanks for joining, I know you will enjoy it here, I also like members who love good old classic noir films, enjoyed many Alistair Maclean films and read all the books.
Hope you enjoy it here, another movie friend is here in Tom who joined yesterday.
Welcome all new members
