Hey Sean, would you say Daniel Silva is comparable to Lee Child? David Baldacci?
Well I think Gabriel Allon (by Daniel Silva)is not the big tough action packed hero of the Lee Childs and David Baldacci books.
He is more well higher class assassin, more political thrillers, with crime and action, both LC and DB are more gripping action thrillers.
Ty(an author member here) will also mention to you the thoughtful, quite tough guy Joe Pike, or the comical light character Elvis Cole, and in better detail than me.
Also highly recommend Geordia Sharp the action army hero in the Chris Ryan books, and Mitch Rapp in the late Vince Flynn books

Thanks Sean for the info and yes, Ty has also recommended Robert Crais, which I plan on reading next. I am looking forward to getting to "know' all these new authors! If only work, sleep, life etc. didn't get in the way of my reading! Ha!
Have a great day!
Shoot, I should have added this.......oops on me.The day I met my husband........35 yrs ago..........I patted him on the butt! 9 mos later, we were married.
True story.
He still smiles about it. LOL.
Carmen, nope Silva and Child/Baldacci are different writing styles and pace of 'thrilling' are totally different.I am sure I've read a few Silva books, but I honestly cannot remember which ones.
I am currently on a Greg Rucka Jad Bell series recommendation binge. Worth reading them.
Erin (Paperback Stash) wrote: "Mine too, Mike, I love the first person POV. To me it helps with mystery/suspense in a story if there are twists, as well as getting to know the main character better. I do know they are less popul..."Greg Rucka's Bravo is not first person but present tense and supernova awesome.
Hi! Im Jihan Suarez. I live in the Philippines.I love to read Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson

My college years.
Welcome to the group Jihan. I also enjoy reading Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Stephen King and many others. This is a great group. Enjoy!!
Hi, I'm Kali, I live in the Bay Area and I'm working towards my English degree through ASU online. I love to read and I blog book reviews at Kalireads.com (posted this on the book blog site as well). I have two cats, and tend to read way too many books at once.I definitely have a passion for mysteries/thrillers above all else, started with Nancy Drew when I was little and hasn't abated yet. I'm not sure if I"ll actually have time to be very present here, but I thought I'd give it a go.
Hi, I'm Ava. I live in London and write novels - my psychological thriller Untouchable is coming out next March in the UK and US. Love reading thrillers - currently stuck into Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey.Nice to meet you all!
Hi, everyone. I'm here as the write (sic) arm of A.D. Garrett, a forensic thriller writing collaboration. I'm based in the north west of England. I enjoy all kinds of thrillers, having been brought up on Alistair MacLean and Desmond Bagley, but I also love slow-burn, atmospheric novels with a feeling of ever-present dread, which build to breathless denouements. In terms of modern fiction, I'd place Mo Hayder and James Patterson in the first category, and masters of suspense like Tom Rob Smith and Gillian Flynn in the second. But there are all kinds of shades in between, which is what makes thrillers so appealing to me!Recent reads I've enjoyed in the thriller category would be: No Country for Old Men, by Cormac McCarthy, Cold In July, by Joe R Lansdale, , Bad Luck and Trouble by Lee Child, and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
Welcome Ava, Thanks for joining,
welcome A.D
I grew up reading ALL Alistair MacLean books and still love them!
