Melissa - I'm not sure either of those Sherilyn Kenyon covers will work. I'll let Alley or one of the other captains weigh in.Enjoy Predatory Game! I had to read it straight through!!
@Rebecca - I have the first one as well and am planning to read it next month. If you want to read it together - that would be great!
@ Leslie and Rebecca - hope you enjoy it!!@Leslie - that's ok if neither cover work... I wasn't sure so I thought I would ask. I'm liking Predatory Game so far. I'm not sure if I read this one or not. When I first started I thought maybe I had but I think it was a different book with a night time DJ with a voice that affected others - not sure the title/series - think she had a twin sister.
What did you decide to do for dessert last night? My daughter liked the punch we made - my son not so much. My hubby took me out for dinner - it was wonderful. I had a Triple Ecstasy Martini - yummy 3 different types of chocolate liquer in it ☺
@Leslie - we could read it together. I think that would be fun. @Melissa - I am looking forward to it.
I am currently reading
which is due back at the library on Tuesday. It was recommended to me by my librarian and I'm realy enjoying it. Unfortunately it won't fit for either mini-challenge.
@Lisa Kay - thank you for the cupcake!! Hope you had a good day.@Rebecca - that would be great! Let me know when you want to read and I will set up a thread for it!
@Melissa - I made pound cake and cut up strawberries and blueberries and put some sugar on them and then served it together with some Vanilla Greek yogurt. My husband loved it! He grilled pork chops and we had roasted potatoes. It was lovely! And chocolate martini sounds awesome!! Anything chocolate works for me!

I try to make sure my kids don't give up something that will affect all of us... such as ice cream. We as a family one year gave up soda or pop depending on what you call it. Simpler when all of us give someething up together.
Melissa - I really like the idea of a family sacrifice. That is a great way to bring meaning to Lent. I wish I had thought of that when my kids were younger.I finished
and I loved it. I didn't realize I had read it before, but I didn't remember much, so it's all good! Now I'm struggling with what to read. I'll probably start with
.I have a question for Alley and the captains. Does
work for the cover challenge. The person is in silhouette, but I'm not sure if it's okay.
Alley can have the final say but I think that
would work. Even since the person is in silhouette, you can clearly see 1 person.
thanks, Rebecca! I really wanted to read it this weekend. Finished another book just now.
is the third in a fantasy series that was pretty good. It had dragons, which is always a good thing!
@~Melissa~ - those covers for
don't really work, but
would! Don't forget you can use alternative covers!
@Leslie - sure that cover works. It's clearly just one person
Just finished
. Finding Frank is a page turner from the prologue to the very last page. Frank's story had me smiling, laughing and yes even crying at times. The book is very thought provoking as well as very sad that there are senoir citizens falling through the cracks here in the United States. Frank's story also hit close to home for me because my Husband and I will be two of the 71.5 million that will be over 65 yrs old by 2030 here in the US. I absolutely recommend that everyone read Finding Frank because it is very informative and very much eye opening.

I'm so glad you told us what the book was about, Marguerite. I tried to find out and there was nothing about it on Goodreads. Sounds interesting!Great job, Alley finding an alternate cover for Melissa. And thank you for okaying my book!
Leslie people will have to get it on Amazon in either paperback or for kindle. Here is the write up on amazon below.
A chance encounter; an unusual request; two lives inexorably transformed. When self-absorbed Brooke Blake uncharacteristically sheds her narcissistic armor, she discovers that the hand we lend may pave the way to our own redemption. Finding Frank is a perplexing hall of mirrors where every image reflects agonizing - though liberating - secrets. Frank was a Silver Orphan, one of 11 million seniors in the U.S. who live alone. Most still have family members, but about 15 percent of seniors who need care have no family support. By 2030, the number of people over age 65 will soar to 71.5 million - one in every five Americans. Yet, over half of America’s communities have not initiated preparation to deal with the aging population. Unless this situation is addressed, we will soon be engulfed in a tidal wave of Silver Orphans.

I'll have to recommend it to my mom. It sounds like something she would really like. She is a very active woman in her 70's who lives alone. I will look for it on Amazon! Did you read it on your new kindle?
Leslie your mom will enjoy and love it. Itg is also a good read for young adults as well, everyone knows senoir citizens and sooner or later everyone is going to be one. I read the paperback and I received it as a galley offer.

Thanks for this - I hadn't heard of this book. I think I might order the paperback for myself and then bring to work for my co -workers. I work in a nursing and rehab facility so this should be informative.

I read the Donovan series by Elizabeth Howell years ago - I really enjoyed it! Is this your first time through or a re-read? If first time hope you like it!
Melissa that is a wonderful idea!!! Something tells me you and your co-workers will love it!!!! Let me know what you think after you read it. Also once you have read it you can go on Amazon and leave a review.
Good morning Team D! [image error]@Melissa - I've read a ton of Elizabeth Lowell, but this is my first go 'round with this series. It's not my favorite of hers, but I like it. I love her medieval books and her westerns the best!
Also, what I love most about this team challenge is the sharing and getting to know about books we would never hear about otherwise!
Just finished
which has a single person on the cover for the mini challenge and exactly 10 people shelved it as romance (I'm not one of them, this is definitely UF) for the monthly challenge.
That has always looked like an interesting UF series, Diane. And I just finished
which counts for the mini challenge and for Romance.

@Melissa - I actually liked this one better than the first. I had major problems with the first - though I liked it enough to read the next! But this one still bothered me somewhat. But I plan on reading the next one - I do find the series interesting.
I am going to start my first book of the week. I will read
I hope to finish it by tomorrow. It will count towards Singles Rule Mini Challenge but I guess it won't count towards romance.
18 has shelved it as Romance > Paranormal Romance but only 4 has shelved it as Romance

This is what I have so far! Let me know if I've forgotten anything and please post your covers!
I'm a little under the weather today with a stomache bug but wanted to give everyone a quick update. We are over 800 books and have read close to 250,000 pages!

Great job everyone!
~Melissa~ wrote: "Looks like an interesting series. I may need to check out book #1."I like the series. Although it has a love triangle, which I hate, but there are signs it might be getting cleared up soon. It also has a cool dog. I'm definitely looking forward to book 4.

I don't mind love triangles as long as a decision is made one way or the other, lol
I finished
Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon 4.5★ this is such an interesting series - still hate the heifer goddess!! I want a Simi in my life - she is a riot!!
I've finished these romances and enjoyed them all.
All except Stolen Heat count toward the mini challenge (I think).
Congratulations Team!!! WOO HOO!!@Gayle - you and I seem to be on the same reading trajectory!! I'm set to read Archangel's Consort and Stolen Heat this month and just recently finished Mariana. Glad to know you liked them all!! I will put you down for the mini challenge. Thanks!!
So I am reading 3 books at the moment - only 1 counts for the mini challenge but all count toward Romance.
I have a love/hate relationship with Outlander. I've read it twice before - the first time it was okay, the second time I didn't finish it. So I'm trying it again and trying to keep an open mind.

I love Nalini Singh!! I ♥ both the Psy changeling and the Guild Hunter series
I just finished
. I thought it was a good story - lots of laugh-out-loud moments. Most of the book was in the form of emails, magazine articles, memos and compiled by the daughter, a 15-year old, perspective.
@Leslie It does seem we are on the same wave length on our reading. I've read that series by Elizabeth Lowell and love her books. She has a new one coming out soon. And have that Amanda Quick on my TBR list. I have plans to reread the Outlander series...this time as audiobooks.@Melissa. I plan to start the Psy Changling series as soon as I finish the Guild Hunters. As I'm reading those from the public library, I am on hold at the moment.
Absolutely loved the Psy-Changeling series! Finished the last one in December. It was the best!! I have more mixed feeling about the Guild Hunter series, but I still love her writing.
I finished
for the mini challenge. What a fun read. I love those twisted fairy tale books.Woo Hoo team. We are on a role!!
thanks for posting, Jane! Such a beautiful cover! And did you hear the sound of another one hitting my TBR pile?
Leslie wrote: "thanks for posting, Jane! Such a beautiful cover! And did you hear the sound of another one hitting my TBR pile?"I had the exact same sound!
Leslie wrote: "thanks for posting, Jane! Such a beautiful cover! And did you hear the sound of another one hitting my TBR pile?"I know that sound all to well. I am not sure I will ever get through all the TBR books on my Kindle. LOL
~Melissa~ wrote: "I finished Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon 4.5★ this is such an interesting series - still hate the heifer goddess!! I want a Simi in my life - she is a riot!!"
Yeah, that is a good series. I stopped at the first Dream Hunters and need to get back into it.

It's definitely a sacrifice, but it's good for my winter weight too. :)
Way to go team!! We are finishing strong for this mini challenge!I just finished one of my books
and it qualifies for the mini challenge and for the monthly challenge.@Marla - those are difficult things to give! I gave up fast food and frankly it's the hardest thing I've given up. But I have a feeling it will help with weight loss, too!
The one year I gave up buying books for lent. Somehow, everyone tells me that I failed when I sent my husband to buy the latest Jodi Picoult which are always released during this time.
One hour left to go until midnight and I just finished
which might count for the mini challenge. No romance...
