~Melissa~ Leslie wrote: "@Melissa - I'm really liking this one so far. Very interesting premise. I love Rachel Caine and loved her Weather Warden series. I'm kind of a weather buff and really enjoyed all the weather talk. ..."

I'll have to find time to read Rachel Caine. I think I bought a couple of the weather warden books last time I went to the used bookstore.

@Leslie and Tricia I will have to try the vampire series. I forgot I have laready read the first of her dragon series and enjoyed it. So many books to try to remember, lol

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Time To Start Reading!

Hi Team! Don't forget our DIAL M FOR . . . MINI CHALLENGE starts tomorrow. Any book that is finished between Wed Feb 6th and Sunday Feb 10th at midnight will count towards this challenge.

Remember - post your books that have a word that starts with M in the title, author's name or series name. We need to see those covers!! And if it also counts toward the February Romance Challenge, please mention that. You will get an extra point!!

message 753: by Jane (new)

Jane | 705 comments I have finished 2 books in February though only one count as romance Exclusively Yours (Kowalski Family, #1) by Shannon Stacey

I thought I had found 2 books for this short challenge of Dial M for... but it seems I actually have 4.
Cross My Heart (Landry, #2) by Abigail Strom
Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton
Twist (Mageri, #2) by Dannika Dark (Mageri Series: Book 2)
Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder (Maria V. Snyder)

How many of these I will manage to read I am not sure as I have just started a new job and I am quite tired by the end of the day, but I am hoping for at least 2.

Happy reading everybody

message 754: by Anna (new)

Anna | 43 comments Good work Team D! We're 3 books from 600 :D

message 755: by Tea (new)

Tea (prettylives) | 17 comments Loving the challenge. So many potential books. I'm going to start with Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses, #1) by Malorie Blackman as I've got to read it v for another Ichallenge. think it qualifies in terms of page numbers. I've the Kindle version.

message 756: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ I finished Blood Passage (Blood Destiny #2) by Connie Suttle - doesn't count towards romance but was really good. Most of the males in this book needs a good whack IMO. Cliffhanger at the end so was glad I already had Blood Sense (Blood Destiny #3) by Connie Suttle lined up to start!!

message 757: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments That one went on my TBR, Melissa!

I just finished Working Stiff (Revivalist, #1) by Rachel Caine I gave it 4 stars. I really liked it. Zombies with humanity and typical Rachel Caine rollercoaster ride! And 25 users shelved it as Romance!

I'm about to start
Midnight Sun by M.J. Fredrick which is also a Romance.

@Jane - I have Wait for Me on my kindle. Interested to hear what you think.

Great looking books everyone! Let's push past 600!

message 758: by Anna (new)

Anna | 43 comments I just finished It's Not Summer Without You (Summer, #2) by Jenny Han , really good book! If you're into YA you should read it :) It is also shelved in romance, since it's a romance book it's obviously there haha :)

message 759: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments It looks good, Anna. I'll definitely recommend it to my daughters as well.

message 760: by Anna (new)

Anna | 43 comments Leslie wrote: "It looks good, Anna. I'll definitely recommend it to my daughters as well."

I promise you that she will love it! But tell her to read The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1) by Jenny Han first, since it's the first book in the series :)

message 761: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ @Jane - Wait for Me was a really good romantic suspense. Hope you enjoy it!

message 762: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments I am just not on the right time frame...I finished Cinder yesterday, which counts for romance, but it won't count for the M mini-challenge. It was good, but a little too predictable, but I will read the sequel one of these days.

message 763: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments @ Marla - Cinder will count for the M challenge. It's written by Melissa Meyer :D

message 764: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Schneider (triciaschneider) | 115 comments I started Mistress of Mellyn by Victoria Holt today, which is a romance and for the M mini-challenge. It's really good so far. I always get hooked on gothic romance!

I see some of you are Rachel Caine fans. I'd like to try one of her books. I saw them all the time when I worked at the bookstore, but I never got a chance to actually read any of them. I know she has a couple different series. Any suggestions which one I should try first?

message 765: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Tricia ~ The only Rachel Caine I have read so far is Playing With Fire (Silver Dragons, #1) by Katie MacAlister it was funny and I enjoyed it. Little bit paranormal, mystery and romance all rolled into one. I have a couple of the weather warden books but haven't tried them yet. I'm going to try them, hopefully, sometime soon...

message 766: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments I have read all of the Weather Warden series and loved it! It is a crazy ride!! It's a long series, so some are better than others, but always fun! Highly recommend. I have not read the Morganville Vampire series, but I've heard good things.
And I'm putting the Victoria Holt on my TBR!

@Melissa - I think you meant Katie MacAllister LOL!

I'm loving Shadow of Night at the moment. It's finally picked up the pace.

I really liked it except towards the end there was a really stupid conflict that they both ended up over-reacting to. Otherwise it was really good and had a great epilogue.

I'll have to see if I can get it. Have you read Kristen Ashley - is it sort of like her series??

message 784: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 2438 comments ~Melissa~ wrote: "I'll have to see if I can get it. Have you read Kristen Ashley - is it sort of like her series?? "

I've read a few of her Mystery Man series and mostly liked them. The hero isn't as alpha as Ashley's are, but it does have the same sense of fun, except when they are being stupid.

message 785: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ I just went and downloaded Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson and Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell #2) by R.L. Mathewson which is book #2 ~ found them for my Nook for 0.99 each woohoo!!

message 786: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments I grabbed them, too! Thanks Melissa!!

message 787: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments Anna wrote: "Started reading: [bookcover:Ender's Game..."

I really like Ender's Game, but not the sequels. If you like it, I also like Ender's Shadow, from Bean's POV

I just reread them a few years ago and I still really liked them, but I don't know if I loved them as much as when I was younger.

message 788: by Donna (new)

Donna Wolczyk | 75 comments I just finished Wallbanger. It was pretty good. It definitely got better as it went along. This also marks my first romance book for the Feb. challenge!!! :)

Jamie | 357 comments Hi everyone! I just joined the team.

Alley (alleycatfish) | 198 comments So far for the Romance challenge, I've finished
Killbox (Sirantha Jax, #4) by Ann Aguirre Killbox - Ann Aguirre & Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr Wicked Lovely - Melissa Marr (also counts for the M challenge)

I really do love the Sirantha Jax series. I really recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of romance in their sci-fi.

Wicked Lovely was just meh. I doubt I'll read anymore of this series unless I need something Fae for a challenge.

About to start Midsummer Magic (Magic Trilogy, #1) by Catherine Coulter .

message 793: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Welcome to Team D Jamie!

@Alley ~ Thud. MY TBR just got longer - I added Sirantha Jax - will have to try the first one - looks interesting

Of course last night I had to start Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson - this cracked me up - kinda reminded me of Wallbanger
