Tower Team D: Dangerously Determined to Devour All Books
Wow, great books everyone!! @Marguerite - I love historical fiction and those both look so good! I especially love English medieval history.
@Gayle - I have the Susan Anderson book on my nook. I'm interested to hear what you think. I've never read her.
@Gen -I'm also not crazy about YA fiction but I have found a couple of good ones. This one sounds really interesting. I can't list it as a red cover book, however. But the other one works fine if you finish it before midnight tomorrow!
@Jane - that one looks really fun as well! More books to add to my TBR.
I will have the tally of books up soon.

Please let me know if I have left anyone off this list, forgotten a book or included a book you have not read yet. It's looking great!!
I haven't quite finished Dance of Shadows yet Leslie, but I'm 80% of the way through and reading it now so it'll definitely get done in time!
What did you think of it, Sherri? It looked interesting.I just finished
Normally I love Barbara Samuel, but this one I struggled with somewhat.
I've also started to read
and so far, I'm really liking it.Can I get a judgment on whether the first book has enough red?
Leslie, I think Heart of the Knight has enough red. If not, there is an alternate cover:
which had a lot more red.
Some Team Captain items:Thanks everyone for your hard work. Remember, the mini-challenge end today!
Here's the latest standings:
Team A - 517 books
Team B - 559 books
Team C - 558 books
Team D - 465 books
Keep up the good work everyone! Happy Reading!
I finished
last night. I love this author - she is just awesome. She writes the best alpha males. This series just keeps getting better!!
I just realized I never put
onto my currently reading shelf. Will this be ok? I started it on Fri night 1/25. Do we need both start and finished dates? If yes ~ how to update the start date??
Will be starting
today. I'm going right now to put it on my current reading shelf, lol
I don't know that we still need the start date, but if you want to put it in, go to Edit My Review. Scroll down until you see Date Read. Underneath that is More Options. Click on that and it will give you a place to put in the date started. Make sure you Save. And make sure it's on the Tower Team D shelf. I've forgotten that for several books and had to go back and correct. And I loved that book!! I just thought it had everything you want in a story. One of my favorites recently!!
@Rebecca - thanks! You are right that one has slightly more red.
I just finished
For those who were asking - loved it! If you like historical romance, try this one. Very original.
Go Team!! Keep reading and posting your covers!! Let's get over 500!!
Melissa and Leslie have brought up a good point. Start dates are still things I keep track of so if you could all help me out by trying to add them, I would appreciate it! Thanks!!
Finished
yesterday and I really enjoyed it (see review). A young troubled (pre)teen recruited to a spy academy, similar to YA series: Spy High or Alex Rider. Already started book 2.
Rebecca wrote: "Melissa and Leslie have brought up a good point. Start dates are still things I keep track of so if you could all help me out by trying to add them, I would appreciate it! Thanks!!"That's what I thought, so I figured I better ask
@Leslie - I liked A Little Bit Wicked. Its a typical historical romance in regency England. Nothing to unique about it but I liked the male lead and the female lead at least was not to stupid to live. I'm 51% done with Devil May Care and about 1/2 way done with Dearly Departed. Since I'm listening to Dearly Departed I'm not sure I'll make the deadline or not. But either way it will soon be finished.
We're only 32 books away from the 500 mark!! Go Team D!!!
Finished
. I enjoyed it. Romance and a little humor, it is a fast read.Starting
. I liked the book I read by this author the other day, so I decided to try another.
Okay Team, here is my update before the challenge ends tonight. Look it over and make sure I didn't leave anything out. Also, I have to sub tomorrow so not sure how much computer time I will have. So final tally may not be done until after 3pm central time. Keep reading!! The covers look beautiful.

Way to go everyone!!!!

Leslie: I really enjoyed it, though it reminded me of the Red Riding Hood film with Amanda Seyfried (which is weird, because I thought the film was pretty lacking!)It could do with a good edit though if I'm honest - just stupid things like then instead of than etc, here and there throughout the book.
@Faith - those little things really bother me! I'm a typo freak. I don't know why they bother me in books, but they do. I never saw the movie, not sure why.@Marguerite - I have it! No worries. And I'm loving all the red covers. Great challenge!
Hey guys, I just finished two books but the entry has not been updates in my tower team D home page. How do I bring that about? I challenged myself to read 50 books for the tower team challenge.
Parvathy wrote: "Hey guys, I just finished two books but the entry has not been updates in my tower team D home page. How do I bring that about? In post #2 on page 1 of this thread are the directions for how to set your shelf. Then as you finish each book for this challenge you put it on that shelf as well.
Hope that helps:D
Hi Parvathy! Thanks for being part of our team. Melissa is correct, you need to designate a shelf for this challenge and sign up that shelf by following the directions at the beginning of this thread. Then your books will count. Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Parvathy wrote: "... but the entry has not been updates in my tower team D home page."
Parvathy, I looked at your bookshelves and see that you have one entitled tower-read, but NO books have been "tagged" with that shelf. Is that the one you stipulated for the challenge on the Home Page? If so, just go in and "tag" those books.

I will be posting books and the winner later today!! Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm on my planning period (2nd of the day) and we just left Mass and soon go to lunch and then go to an Assembly! What a lovely day to sub!!Anyway, I recently finished
. It was okay. I'm not a Gena Showalter fan. I'm also reading
which is the 2nd in an amazing UF series about an assassin. Good stuff!! And I'm finishing up a freebie
for another challenge. It's meh. I am very picky about books set in New Orleans since I'm from there.
We're almost at 500 :DI lost a filling this morning so had to go and have it replaced this evening. Feeling sorry for myself, and my other half is stuck in the uni library working, so I'm hoping to get a bit of reading done.
If anyone is looking for something new to read,
is currently free on the Epic Reads website http://www.epicreads.com/books/shatte...
(have to read directly on the website though).
I'm going to give it a go since everyone raved about it and my other freebies will definitely wait!
I hate when that happens! I am dentist challenged. I have a huge dentist phobia. And thanks for the heads up about the book!
Go Team!!
Faith - I have to second Leslie - I have a huge dentist phobia also. Even though ours is really nice.I've never used/checked out epicreads before. Do they frequently have free books to read on their site?
I'm not sure to be honest, it just popped up on my twitter that it was free, and I remember everyone being excited about the sequel so I thought I'd give it a try.I'm near enough half way through now and it's okay. I like the plot well enough to keep going, though the writing style is a bit weird - people seem to either love it or hate it.
There's lots of flowery metaphors and generally wordy prose
"I'm not even human anymore. I'm so much more. The sun and the moon have merged and the earth is upside down."
That doesn't especially bother me, but I'm a bit fed up of repetition. "he spoke so so so quietly" etc.
I'm going to keep going because the plot has me curious and it's free!

You could always just skip over the flowery stuff, lol
I just think the cover is so pretty!! And it does look interesting.
