Sherri | 726 comments @Leslie, @Rebecca - No worries, I'll work on the other three and if I need to I'll pick something else. I wasn't sure about that one and the others I needed to read for review looked orange to me.

Fated (Alex Verus, #1) by Benedict Jacka Holding Out for a Hero by Christine Bell

~Melissa~ Oh I really enjoyed Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers . Read it years ago.

Jane | 705 comments I have also had a bit of difficulty finding red covers, it seems that I have a lot of zombie - horror red books but I am not quite in the mood for that. Here are 6 and we'll see where I get to and what I fell like reading

My Familiar Stranger (The Order of the Black Swan, #1) by Victoria Danann UnEnchanted (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, #1) by Chanda Hahn Deadly Legacy (A Carmedy & Garrett Mystery, #1) by Alison Bruce Peace Warrior by Steven L Hawk Shadowmagic (Shadowmagic) by John Lenahan Raven's Gate (The Gatekeepers, #1) by Anthony Horowitz

I hope they are red enough.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments @Sherri - are you asking about these covers?

@Marguerite -Lovers looks fine to me.

@Melissa - I will definitely be in that support group!

And Lisa Kay - I'm just amazed by all your Pinterest boards!! Wow.

message 506: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Do the two I'm reading count as red? Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1) by Cecily von Ziegesar City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare

message 507: by [deleted user] (new)

Leslie thank you.

message 508: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments @Jane - yes, they all look good to me. The other captains can weigh in.

I just looked at them, Melissa. Looks great. I think it was Barbara★ that started me using the zz in the front; makes it tons easier to "tag" their color that way, and they all stay together.

The operative word there is "mad." LOL!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Leslie wrote: "I'm just amazed by all your Pinterest boards!! Wow."

Yeah, and it all started here on GRs; I needed a way to keep track of the pics I posted. Some I really wanted to "keep."

I've thought of reading that, but I'm afraid I'll cry. I'm such a woosie.

message 514: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments I have to complain to someone...I am just not into most of the books I'm reading right now.
The Keeper of the Stones (Jake West, #1) by M.J. Webb Rosanna of the Amish by Joseph Warren Yoder Lies (Gone, #3) by Michael Grant A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes, #1) by Arthur Conan Doyle
I just want to finish them so I can read something else...

Only The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks is holding my interest.

message 515: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Oh no, Marla! I hate it when that happens. Maybe you could put it on hold? Get through one by one with another book that you are enjoying.

message 516: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Is this a red cover: Yavanika by Sujatha ?

message 517: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Nope. And it is only 168 pages, Vi.

message 518: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Oh, dang it. It looked like it was more. I'm blaming it on the book - it's longer than the English counterparts. Oh well. Thanks for catching that,LK!

message 519: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Well, if your cover is red and had more pages, then it works. I just didn't see that edition on GoodReads.

message 520: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Nope, it actually has 164 pages not 168. I just didn't notice the number of pages. My fault.

message 521: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments **shrugs** It happens.

message 522: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 24, 2013 09:19PM) (new)

I have changed my mind on my red books.
Bag of Bones by Stephen King , The Memory Quilt A Christmas Story for Our Times by T.D. Jakes ,Lovers, A Rose for the Crown,Cleopatra: A Life

Now here is the thing in the above pic the dress looks purple. But on my book it looks red as in this picture http://www.google.com/imgres?q=cleopa... is it red or not lol?

message 523: by Lisa Kay (last edited Jan 24, 2013 10:44PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Marguerite, I would say that is red enough...it is a beautiful red on that website. I notice sometimes GRs really has washed out colors for the books.

message 524: by [deleted user] (new)

Lisa thank you. No idea why GR shows one color and the book I have is another.lol I had to go to google images to find the image that matched my book.rofl

message 525: by [deleted user] (new)

Lisa I have been wanting to read Cleopatra A Life and A Rose for the Crown for a long time and I thought why not now.lol

message 526: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yeah, why not? ☺

message 527: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished The Memory Quilt A Christmas Story for Our Times by T.D. Jakes . I loved this book!!! There were times I laughed and times I wanted to cry while I was reading it.

Just started A Rose for the Crown by Anne Easter Smith .

message 531: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Wow, great looking books on the thread! Thanks Lisa Kay for all your help. And I agree about books looking different depending on location of book. Please don't hesitate to show us an alternate cover if we tell you a cover won't work.
I'm willing to accept many different shades of red but the key thing for me is that it must be something on the cover that is significant. hope that makes sense.
And can I say UGH!! I can't fit any books that I need to read for other challenges right now into my books that have red covers. So frustrating!!

@Marguerite - the Cleopatra book looks amazing!

message 532: by Lisa Kay (new)

I remember it being a pretty emotional read...so maybe hold off until your in the mood for a good cry☺

message 536: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ I might read this for a different challenge...would you consider this red or no The Scent of Shadows (Signs of the Zodiac, #1) by Vicki Pettersson

Hmmmm...I'm going to defer to Leslie on that one. Isn't she the one running the red challenge, or am I confused?

message 539: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ No your right...she is.
The book cover is so small and I was trying to find a bigger version of it to see if I could see the color better but wasn't able to find 8(

message 540: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Melissa, I'm having a hard time seeing the red, but I will let someone else weigh in.

I just finished Purity in Death (In Death, #15) by J.D. Robb yesterday and I finished The Queen of New Beginnings by Erica James today. Plus I found this cover for it!! Yay!! I read a red book. That was fun to say.

And I have to say that I loved Purity in Death!!

message 541: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Melissa, that doesn't look like red to me, Sorry!

Hope you enjoy this ~ have your "read" any other books by this author? I read another series by her - love it and I can't think of the name of it right now but really wonderful characters!!

message 543: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments I get purplish vibe actually!

Leslie, the In Death series is very good. I'm amazed NR has been able to sustain it with so many books!

And I really like Suzanne Brockman - I think her other series is called Troubleshooters. I've read several of those. This one looks good! THUD! There goes another one on my TBR!

message 546: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Don't worry guys and thanks for the blow up version of the book - the bottom part of the book was what I thought was red but it kind of looks brownish red now that it is big.
I'll figure out a red book or two for this ☺
