Can anyone help me with this? I've noticed this AmazonClassics series (which I love!) say "This edition... includes editorial revisions." Can anyone tell me what kind of revisions this involves? Is it abridgement? I love the old books, but I need to know if I'm getting the original book or not. I've found a number of others asking the same question online but no one seems to know the answer. TIA.

For example connexion being an old way of writing connection. There is also likely an array of punctuation thats been altered to nicer reading. With how the classics are loved any large change would be called out either get them free with amazon or for unedited versions Gutenberg project can help.
I hope that's what it refers to. Spelling and punctuation are not a big deal. I'm concerned that things which are considered offensive now may be edited and it's important to me that I experience the original, unedited version.

Yes. But the publisher does not respond to multiple requests to clarify the point. Hence my concern...
