Not just Rowling's Beedle or even Shakespeare, Bards are Celtic lore-keepers, poets, musicians, wizards etc., sometimes possessing powers from and/or threatening to the gods themselves! Minstrels/skalds etc. are ok if the flavor is highly European or ancient-Biblical. But even books w/o bards should mention/allude to the classic gods or some of the monsters/archetypes from Atlantis/Europe/Near East myth. (Please save strictly Greek, Norse, or witch/new age/religious stuff for a separate list.)
