“There is a common language, a mode of consciousness, almost a secret sign which can be read and recognized by all who are similarly engaged. Such realizations help fend off the feeling of isolation which can dog the steps of those who seek the Grail.”
John Matthews, At the table of the Grail: Magic and the use of the imagination

“The way to restore the Wasteland is to embrace it with compassion, to become identified with it in exactly the same way that the lover identifies with the beloved: for what wounds the beloved wounds the lover.”
John Matthews, Arthurian Magic: A Practical Guide to the Wisdom of Camelot

“Shamanic abilities are generally brought on by a personal crisis,”
John Matthews, The Shamanism Bible: The definitive guide to Shamanic thought and practice
