AND - Bag of Bones mini-series starts tonight! My DVR is ready!
11/22/63 is compulsively readable for me - I'm close to half done already, and plan on spending a few hours with it again today. I'm going to try have as lazy a Sunday as I can.

I've been making a lot of progress on
and am already 33% done. Not bad for a nearly 900 pager. :) I thought this may be my last book of 2012, but I think I'll be able to squeeze in another 1 or 2!

I am reading
and am 20% done - it is GREAT! I qualify myself as a "Constant Reader" of King, and this book is so much fun to read because he's in Maine and characters from other books are showing up, and it's so much fun to watch him tie his other novels in. LOVING it!

by Janet Evanovich, which I though was much better than #17. It's a fun break from reading more serious books."I liked this one too - I did enjoy 17 though, but after 14, 15 and 16 I was ready to give up on her, they were getting pretty terrible!
LynnB wrote: "I liked this southern fiction novel and gave it 3 stars. It did have some suspense, but I'm surprised it's been pegged as a mystery novel ... like Stephanie, I didn't think there was much mystery..."Lynn, I totally concur. I just don't think this is a mystery. It was all fairly plain from the start, there wasn't a thing in the novel that surprised me, and I had about 90% of it figured out by about page 50...which wasn't to say I didn't think it was well done, have great character development - but yeah, not so mysterious. I just am heartbroken for Larry. What a sad existence.

I just picked up a Kindle Fire for my mom's Christmas gift - going to work on getting it set up for her so when she opens it on the 24th she's ready to go. I know she's going to be irritated at first. She won't think she'll like it - but if I can find some good game apps for her, I think she'll really enjoy it. Ideas on games/apps for her? She won't usually be working in a WiFi environment - the internet isn't great out at the farm.

. It was my first Tom Perrotta novel and I actually really liked it. The good news? Perhaps I'll love his other novels that I ha..."As I was writing about it in my Hive thread, I was thinking that it's not that I disliked it, it's that it wasn't what I was expecting. When an author you enjoy puts something out you tend to go in with expectations and somehow I felt those weren't met. But really, it's a good study of the family and their reactions to the shock of the world losing millions of people.

I finished Demonglass (thanks Tara!) and liked it 3 stars or so. I think I enjoyed the first installment more but it may have been my mood as well.
Today I started Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter and 11/22/63. Already really like both of them. Each will fill a spot on my Hive challenge. If I'm super lucky I will make it to 80. I have a few books I just haven't been able to find slots for.

Jen, send me a link and I can look here. Sometimes it's amazing how you can find things in smaller towns. :). Santa should succeed somewhere!

We saw that one too - and are debating as well. I got several other items...first box arrived this week, I was super pleased with the glasses I bought for Kasia's Bella doll - the glasses look a LOT like hers. :) Even have the bluish hue on the back, so that was nice.

@Stephanie - for sure a library read and not one to rush to...which was disappointing. :(

Right now I'm doing a couple light ones - I figured out how to read the Goodreads eBooks on my iPhone, so I've got
going there, and Tara sent me
so I've started that one as well. :) Candy reading. I need to see what else I have. Maybe I'll add
to the mix.
Elizabeth wrote: "@ karli,
how disappointing. this is one i'm definitely interested in reading."I was bummed - I had high hopes, I'm glad I came up in the library queue quickly, because otherwise I'd have put it on my kindle...

Tara - you can, but when I called to see if any of the stores had them they said no. (My friend in Minneapolis was going to go get it for me...) So, if they have two, YES!!!!! Buy me one. But don't hold your breath...

I just finished
and was not wowed. I have really enjoyed Tom Perrotta's other works, have read fiction on the rapture before but this just didn't excite me. It was fine - but nothing that will stick with me.

I was just handed a $30 Amazon giftcard (which I promptly loaded to my account) I will FOR SURE buy
11/22/63What else? :)

On the plus side - Samuel, my friend's precious son - is doing really well transitioning to his new life, is bonding with his forever family, had a fairly good visit to the doctor today and we will hope and pray while we wait for the blood test results to come back and *fingers crossed* give this precious boy a clean bill of health.
Terrible that I'm made about a overpriced toy when there are other things to worry about...but I still think there is a special place in hell for people who hoard toys and inflate the already insane prices.
