Yes - not the first time in my life I've been thankful for books and reading!

We're reading
Igraine the Brave together and all are enjoying it.

I haven't posted in awhile - every time I start I feel as though I'm whining and stop. :)
Things with my in-laws have cooled off. They've been better of late (knock on wood) so that's been nice.
My sister is nearly 38 weeks along and I'm excited to meet my nephew.
Work has been hellish. There is just no nice way of putting it. I've been trying very hard to breathe and let it go when I'm not there, which is why I've been reading like crazy. I just want to escape and books are how I'm managing so far. I wish there was some sort of end in sight, but it looks like this is what work is going to look like for awhile. I hope come spring/summer it slows down, but don't know. It's been awful.
Yay books though, they are for sure my release. :)

I felt like a bit of a creeper, but there is so much online about Hadley and Pauline and some bitterness between the brothers - Bumby and then Pauline's children with Ernest. Evidently Pauline's children feel that she's being made out to be a home wrecker and they feel that his love for Pauline was not portrayed well by the publication of A Moveable Feast, and they want another version released with some more about their mother. It was interesting to read about the fall out even 70 years later.

The only possible reason I can think she stayed with him was bec..."I agree Katy - she didn't want to be wrong. And then she wanted to save him - so what a waste! Enjoy Middlesex. :) That is by far his best.

Welcome Angela!!!

@Allison - I don't know which was my favorite - but I re-read the first three several times as it was FOREVER between 3 and 4! I hadn't heard about 4.5 - that would be interesting!
was one of the first books my husband ever bought me - I remember he was so proud of himself as he brought it home one day when we were first married. :)

I finished
Murder is Binding last night, and I did not enjoy it - 2 stars.
I'm having a hard time figuring out what to pick up next. Thinking I may try
One Day

I finished this afternoon - 4 star read for me as well. I loved Hadley's voice, the scenes and characters. I think it was very well done. I found myself googling her to find pictures.

I didn't. I read the first 4 in 2005 or 2006 - it was a long time until that 5th was published and I never got the excitement for picking it up.

OOO - What are people reading for Charles Dickens Month?

PS - Good luck with the job interview!!!!

Good luck! All our girlies are turning 7 this spring. :) Kasia too has a birthday coming in April. I'm not sure what we're doing for her birthday yet - so if you come up with something brilliant do share!
My friend did a darling Owl themed party for her daughter - it was a Night Owl theme, so she had the girls come in pajamas, we did pedicures and had a dance party in the dark with lots of glow bracelets for everyone. She got the idea on Etsy and she's crazy-crafty and made owl stuffies for each girl. I'm not that fabulous, but maybe you are! (plus since Julie already did it I can't copy)

I'm a little over halfway through the book, I'm really enjoying it too. I have to laugh at the comments that it makes you not like Hemingway - because I took a college course on his work in grad school and HATED him at the end of it, so the book is giving me a lot more positive feelings towards him than I had before and I'm thinking of picking up my old books from that course.

That's great Garlan! Neither one takes long, hope you get them soon!

@Christine - thank you! I will have to see whether I pick up the last one or not. The library JUST got Changeless in, so who knows when/if the last will show up.

I am a cat person. I adore my kitty Sofia and as a group am not fond of dogs, though I have loved a few in my life. I have to take dogs one by one and don't tend to just like them. I've been bitten a few times, the first on Christmas Eve when I was 4 years old, and that's given me a lingering fear.

I've finished:
- the third in a cozy mystery series and I thought the best one so far. Of course it seems to be the last one published in the series, so no more of this brand for awhile.
I then read
and liked it even better than
...until the end. The end REALLY upset me. I honestly found myself dwelling on it.
Last night I finished
which was pretty good - not my favorite by Baxter, but it was written nearly 20 years ago, so I think to some degree it loses it's punch - and I'm not really sure when it was really supposed to be situated in time. It seems early 80's more than early 90's. However, there were some incredibly beautiful chapters, and I LOVED how he ended it.
