7638 Also in my pile - my friend bought us each a copy this summer...

I'm adding so many books to my Bee pile!

7638 I need to buy this one - I loved Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - it's one of the most original concepts I've read in a long time. AND...doesn't the name Blake Crouch just make you think of Barty Crouch from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling ????

(oops...I ordered it...Amazon says it will arrive Thursday)

7638 Another book I have on my shelves but haven't gotten to yet. Must move it to the Bee Cart.

7638 I have this one, and I know Tanya does too - cuz we got it in our Unplugged Boxes in June. Must move it up - I like fun, flirty reads.

7638 I have this on my list of classics I keep meaning to read.

7638 So, I usually start this around Labor Day - I'm a little early, but then there are always the people who miss the launch. So, a little bit early...and keeping it open until October 12! So if you hang here every 6 weeks or so, and you want to participate - HERE ARE THE RULES!

One of our favorite annual events here in the Bee's is to host a bookish Secret Santa. Anyone who wants to participate is welcome - as we are an international group, that can mean international shipping. Please remember this when shipping so everyone can get their boxes in time to un-box on Boxing Day (December 26)

To join, reply here and then PM me with your real name - first and last - and your mailing address. Later I will create a thread for the participants to compile a list of books you'd like to find in your box. I'll be honest - there have been years that this has been my only present! I have been a member of the bees for close to the 10 years we've been active, and when you're the mom of little ones...presents don't always come TO the mom. So this exchange is very close to my heart.

If you're in - YOU ARE IN - do not let someone go without a gift.

I'm in! How about you?

7638 Oh my goodness - just reading through threads, commenting and getting responses feels SO GOOD. My goodness I love the Bees.

7638 OH NO!!!!! That would be so frustrating!

7638 Right??? I have such good intentions of properly cataloging these and doing all the things...but I just keep collecting...and reading...and then the books that I happened to read and love and didn't own, I buy...and then if I can manage to get an autographed copy of a book I love....

7638 I know a few teachers like you! The school year gets crazy, but the summers are for reading. I hope that you've had an amazing, book-filled summer. Are you returning to your classroom soon?

7638 It's so crazy how many books are sitting on my shelves that I haven't read! But...then I get MORE!

7638 Elizabeth - I will let you experience extreme cold in real life!!!! ND was colder than Antarctica most of January and February this year.

7638 Welcome! I've visited Houston a couple times, I love Texas and have some fantastic friends there. Welcome! Enjoy your dive back into reading. :)

7638 I have a fantasy of having my house organized, rooms with all the things in proper places...but that's just not me.

I have started with adult coloring books, and I really enjoy those. I have planners and love my stickers and try to keep my planner as updated as I can so it can serve as a memory book later. In January I will sit with my phone and digital printer and print a picture or two from each week to put in my planner before I store it.

7638 I LOVE books that center around a group of friends - The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer South of Broad by Pat Conroy A Fortunate Age by Joanna Smith Rakoff

(and of course there are the authors who I will just buy as soon as published...)

7638 I'm on the "sometimes" fence for the audiobooks. My husband has and Audible subscription, and I've listened to a few books this year. I SHOULD listen to more, because they always make me clean, exercise, MOVE more than my print books. I have really enjoyed a few of the audiobooks - this year in particular Educated by Tara Westover - but print is my true love.

7638 I started and finished The Arrangement by Robyn Harding this weekend. I gave it 4 stars, but I did really enjoy it. I'm in this awkward space where I remember college years, libido and poverty well enough to understand the draw, but am middle aged enough to see the perspective of the "sugar daddy" and his family. Still, fun, quick read.
