Welcome! I love HP as well, and have a lot of Hogwarts items in my home library. I hope to read as many books as you do one day!

I've never heard of him...this does sound fascinating though. My kids would probably be interested too.

This sounds fascinating - and brutal. My daughter will be 15 in April, so I'm certainly in in the middle of the drama of the age. It makes the premise pretty easy to visualize.
The Grace YearIn Garner County, girls are told they have the power to lure grown men from their beds, to drive women mad with jealousy. They believe their very skin emits a powerful aphrodisiac, the potent essence of youth, of a girl on the edge of womanhood. That’s why they’re banished for their sixteenth year, to release their magic into the wild so they can return purified and ready for marriage. But not all of them will make it home alive.
Sixteen-year-old Tierney James dreams of a better life—a society that doesn’t pit friend against friend or woman against woman, but as her own grace year draws near, she quickly realizes that it’s not just the brutal elements they must fear. It’s not even the poachers in the woods, men who are waiting for a chance to grab one of the girls in order to make a fortune on the black market. Their greatest threat may very well be each other.
With sharp prose and gritty realism, The Grace Year examines the complex and sometimes twisted relationships between girls, the women they eventually become, and the difficult decisions they make in-between. (less)

I didn't get one this month either - just didn't feel any of these.

And...yep. Evidently I thought it sounded interesting too. I have it. Just waiting for me.

It does sound intriguing - I think it was a BOTM selection...I should look if I have it. I'm a little terrible that way. I don't always know what is on my shelves.

It's so fun finding book twins!!!

Adonica - this one sounds right up our alley!

I loved it, but it took close to half the book to get into it. It is one of those that it took me a week to read half, and a day to finish the 2nd half. It's clearly set up for a sequel, so I will likely re-read it before the next one, and I wonder if it will still seem a slow start, or if I will "get" more of what it's trying to build into.

This sounds delicious! I will have to see if the library has it available.

I loved it - I've read Firestarter recently enough that it kind of resonated with me. I also felt a tie to Dr. Sleep. Of course I always am looking for threads that tie the King Universe together.

Becky - thank you SO MUCH for the sweet stack of books and bookmark! I received Into the Black Nowhere, Dark Corners, Darktown, The Westing Game and The End of the World Running Club. Super excited to read some of Uncle Stevie’s favorite books.

I’m not sure if I liked it better than Dark Matter...but I was so excited by the ending i was speed-reading through it.

Yay Margie!!!! Babies are wonderful! I bet you're already curating a library for your new grandchild.

I own a copy of this one too, as
The Night Circus was amazing.

It's already on my shelf, Tanya. So I'll be pulling it down soon too.
