7638 Petra - you may have convinced me to try more of this series. Thank you.

7638 I read this one a few years ago, and it wasn't my favorite...it moved a little slow for me. I'm interested to hear what the rest of you think.

7638 The Whisper Man was AWESOME!!!! 5 stars!

7638 I've read it now - it's soooooo good!!!! I loved how well the book was able to mingle the science, the psychology and the emotional burden this concept carries. My husband is now listening to it on Audible. :) LOVED.

7638 So, I finished this a few nights ago - and I gave it 4 stars. I thought it was really good, and the issues dealt with feel very real to me. The central characters, Peter and Kate, are my contemporaries - so that always gives me more investment in the characters. And, there were several uncomfortable questions and scenarios...and dammit, this mid-life crisis shit is a little much right now!

But - book is legit, enjoyable and was well done.

7638 Like, so cheesy you're too embarrassed to keep reading?

7638 Yay!!! And we have another month plus for others to join the fun!

7638 I chose The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup . I don't know which other books I will choose. If Only I Could Tell You by Hannah Beckerman sounds like it would crush me at this point.

7638 I got How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper because it sounded a lot like Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman - it wasn't as good as that one, but I did enjoy it.

7638 I skipped this month, but I got Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid at Target.
Aug 20, 2019 03:24PM

7638 I got Recursion in June, but was in California in July and forgot to BOTM.

7638 I didn't know there was a limit! I chose The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood and The Whisper Man by Alex North

All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood is one of my favorite books ever, so I jumped at another by Bryn Greenwood. The Whisper Man just sounds great.

7638 So, I realize I'm coming to the party late...I listened to this on audiobook after a friend raved about it. And I loved it. I guess I've read enough books about fundamentalist religions that when it comes to some of that insanity (including BYU being willing to accept a student who was totally not typical) it was easier for me to suspend disbelief. There are a lot of things I don't know much about, and the degrees of burns her father had...and recovering...well, that does seem crazy, but I guess miracles do happen.

I think I gave this one 5 stars - if not, it was at least 4. I really enjoyed it.

7638 Sold - if nothing else, I bet my husband will enjoy reading it too.

7638 I love Abbi Waxman - she's even joined our Bee's to participate...this is a must read.
7638 This also sounds like it would be totally up my ally!!! Will look at B&N on Wednesday!

7638 Oh dear - this sounds so good, but also so hard...

Do I dare tackle it right now?
7638 Oh dear - I'm trying to learn the "me sometimes too" lesson...adding to my list...but perhaps library rather than purchase?
