I also read the Nancy Drew series...and Trixie Belden. I also loved
Heidi, Little Women and Anne of Green Gables.
I wish I had the copies of Little Women my mom had gotten me - they were beautiful. I have no idea what happened to them. My mom would go on cleaning binges and donate, so that's probably what happened to them.

I skipped this month. None of the selections were speaking to me. So, I save another credit to be used later.

Honestly, to some degree you can see how the family’s belief and trust in God would be affirmed by the fact no one died in all the accidents alone.

I love how this list turned out!!!! Great ideas, Bees.

Elizabeth - thank you for setting this up! A lot of my planning got derailed with my fall, but the cast is off and planning got more fun again!

Do you enjoy reading plays, Elizabeth? Often I get that feeling when I'm reading a play, it just doesn't grab me the way that a novel does. This nailed it for me as the characters all were vivid enough for me to get to know, and there were observations about the relationships with one another that were hilarious - there was such disparity sometimes in how they saw one another.

Done and LOVED it!!!! 5 Stars

@ Margie - tell me about renting your house for 2 months! That seems very brave! Will you travel in those months as well?

What do you think, Margie?

I’m about 3/4 through and am loving it. Some of the observations are stopping me in my tracks, making me go back and ponder...little truth bombs that resonate.

I hav had a slow reading month due to my concussion, but I think one of my favorite reads was the audio version of HP and the Deathly Hallows. I’m a huge Potterhead, and I got so much out of listening to the series, especially a renewed sense of awe for JK Rowling and her ability to create such a vivid place and cast of characters.
I’m making my way through an old Bee Book with The Count of Monte Cristo and am also reading Daisy Jones and The Six after hearing so many of you raving.

I’m so glad you joined us! Rachael is an actual Emmy winner...like fancy dress, cool statue for her fantastic work in tv journalism. Adonica was right about the big deal!

Fantastic! We will get the poll together for these. Watch for notice so you can vote.

I realized this is also on my bookshelves, so there is another reason to read it!

How many of us have Audible subscriptions, or listen as well as read? My husband doesn't enjoy reading, but he discovered that he does enjoy listening while he does other things. He's an artist, so he listens while painting, or doing projects around the house. As for myself, I get way more chores done on weekends if I have a good book in my ears.
I noticed an email from Audible today - there is an Audible Challenge! If you finish 3 Audible books (each at least 3 hours) between January 1 and March 3 you are credited $20 through Amazon! I've already got one done and am on my 2nd of the year. I've been listening to Harry Potter...I've read the series several times, but listening is awesome! I'm on
. I should have that $20 credit before March 1. :)

I picked
Dear Edward,
When We Were Vikings and as my book of the year
The Silent Patient. I am surprised that my box hasn't shown up yet.

Thanks - I’m doing better now. I will try go back to work tomorrow, but will leave if I start to get a headache again.

Wow - loving some of these themes!!!

The concussion is the worst, as my energy is squat, and I get raging headaches if I overdo it.

Happy new year! I hope it is going better for you all...
I took a tumble on Sunday and broke my right hand, sprained my left index finger and concussed myself. this has put my reading to a halt, as concussed brains don't like books. This is my first attempt at a computer since Sunday.
Have you ever had a concussion? Have you had a broken hand and had to figure stuff out? Im lucky that my family is being so awesome and supportive.
