7638 I'm in the same tribe of people happy that 2019 is DONE. 2020 gives me a clean slate and this decade is going to be one of huge changes for my family. Gabe will be graduating in 2021, and Kasia in 2023 - I'm the age now that I vividly remember my parents being. I am actually looking at retiring in 2028...I can't believe a word like "retirement" is going to apply to me! So crazy.

Some of my bookish goals are reading off of my own bookshelves. It is a little overwhelming how many books I own that I haven't read. It's an addiction!

After our basement flooded in October, we've finally got things back together and my library is pretty perfect. I plan on spending many hours in here this winter with books and planners and my computer so I can keep up with my Bees!

7638 I kind of want to make a list of books that I own that I haven't read and whittle it down, but I think that's crazy daunting...I seriously have a book addiction.

I will aim to read at least one book from my own shelves a month. I should write that in my planner. :)

7638 I have so many of these on my shelf that are unread...I am excited that they are so many favorites!

7638 I'm afraid I'm getting there as well...again. Oh well! It's not drugs. :P

7638 So, the old year is nearly done (and quite honestly, I'm super happy to see this one end). BUT - the year end means the new year is looming. I've got my library floor covered with stickers and my 2019 planners and my 2020 planners and I'm trying to figure out how I want to approach my 2020 reading. There is a part of me that wants to do a bunch of planning and lists and goals...and then the part of me that remembers that if I have a list, I'll often see it as a chore and then totally just tank...

But - new year - new goals/habits? I've started really enjoying audio books which has helped me become a much better housekeeper. Laundry and cleaning are SO MUCH EASIER while listening to audiobooks. So...that's what I'm working on currently. Trying to figure out what I'm going to attempt to do this year. What do you do? How do you approach your new year's reading? Are you fans of the reading challenges? I know I'm going to go back to the Hive challenge this year. And I've heard lots about the Pop Sugar challenge, but have never participated. So, I'm investigating.
7638 My nominations! Both 5 star reads for me - one by an author who is new to me, and the other by an all time favorite.

Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) by Leigh Bardugo
The Institute by Stephen King

7638 Everyone should have their assignments by now - so it's time to create your wish list! Remember to push which formats you prefer, and if you'd like a book for your Nook or Kindle, make sure you add the email address for your device so they can be properly gifted.

Have fun!

7638 Sorry...my basement flooded today and disrupted all my intentions. I will get this done. Sorry for the delay.

7638 It IS too soon!!!! It’s awful. Our ditches are full of water and now we have a foot of heavy, wet, slushy snow. It’s awful.

But...TOMORROW YOU GET YOUR ASSIGNMENTS!!!

7638 Yep!!!! Just a day or so. Ironically enough, I’m listening to the wind of this year’s first storm howl. That blizzard/early winter storm you see on CNN or the Weather Channel? That is me. Expecting 1-3 FEET of snow.
