I had a very ambitious list of Pulizer Prize winners when I first really got back into reading when my kids were out of diapers...this was a sad period in my life after grad school and before Goodreads, so I had NO idea how to really find books I would love. Perusing the library aimlessly didn't work, so I tried lists...and I didn't love most of them! There are a few that stuck with me - like
and
.
I am excited to see what we choose.

I haven't chosen yet. Just terribly indecisive.

I will send out assignments next Sunday, so make sure if you're in, you've signed up by October 13th!

I seriously LOVE this part of our group. I’m pretty excited to get rolling on our lists!

I'm finding this one hard to pick up again - between the current climate of blaming women for being blamed for their assaults and having a teenage daughter...this one hurts to read.

Hello Bees!
It's our favorite tradition here in the Busy Bees to do a holiday book exchange with a December 26 Boxing Day reveal!
To sign up - post that you are in, and then send me your information - Full name, mailing address and where Kindle/Nook eReader gifts can be directed. Even if you've done this every year and haven't moved, please, send me the info - It's so much easier for me to manage with new messages. :)
After you're in, you get to post a list of books you'd love to receive. Please also indicate preferences for MMPB, TPB, Hardcover, eBook, Audio....
Prepare a package for another Bee - you can put books, bookish swag, something cool that's unique to your hometown...whatever you want! Make sure you give your package plenty of time to arrive. No one likes to be left out.
International mailing is a possibility, as our group has members from Canada, Australia and Europe.
Any questions, post away or PM me. Game on!

I have this sitting on a shelf in my room - I will pick it up after I finish my traveling book.

Yay - I am lucky to have recruited a couple Bees who live close, I hope you two can get together. :)

OK - when I saw the title Picking Cotton, I couldn't help but remember this YouTube video...

So, we're to July and I haven't had a single 5 star read since April! Maybe that's why I'm slumping a little???

I started
in July, and have not picked it up much since...
I did a re-read of one of my favorites,
and found that I still love it in a re-read. When I first read it, I was close to Mattie's age, and this time I'm Mike's age - that made the re-read so interesting. I think that as I get older, there are a lot of books that I will enjoy more with my greater understanding of life.
I finished
which was a library book that came available - I believe it was a Bee book in 2017 - I'll have to look.
Summer always ends up being less reading time than I like. There is so much to do outside and I just don't read as much. The winter months are much easier for me to get my books on.

I really did love this book, I will see the movie when it's available for rental.
There was some discussion about how this is the first major Asian film released in the US since The Joy Luck Club 25 years ago. I found that so strange to think about...25 YEARS! That's just crazy.

Danielle - I'm so interested to hear what you ended up choosing for her! Do tell.

Welcome Lyndsey! We are happy to have you! Tanya lives in Ypsilanti. :)

I received
and started it last night. I think it will be a quick read, I'm enjoying it a lot already!

I haven’t but will totally check it out! Thanks for the post.

Circe is still chilling next to my bed. I'll have to see how she is doing...

Oh, I am excited by this thread and all the spoiler tags! I need to move this one over to the nightstand from the bookshelf.

I'm excited and a little embarrassed by how many of these books are on my shelves but still unread! I need to figure out a better system for my crazy collection.

I loved the characters a lot, especially how free from convention Katey makes herself. I also found the information on the original Rules of Civility interesting.
