😂 no worries. I had planned to pick it up in a day or two, and binge it.. if it's interesting enough.. I see you gave it 2 stars 😅

The moment she ingested those memory chips was when it became more interesting. And yeah, I liked the chapters with the messenger too, although the ones with the queens get more interesting later on... at least that was the case for me because I figured out something.

Corra is the Eonist queen. The girl we follow is Keralie.

I read 7 chapters. Although, Walter doesn't annoy me as much as before I don't really care about him and his constant complaining about something. I guess this isn't a book for me, so I'm dnf-ing this one.. hope you guys enjoy it much more than me.

From 38 till the end (view spoiler)[ I don't know if I'm not really feeling anything towards this book because I was reading a thriller before that still occupies my mind or if this really felt a bit flat towards the end.

The new chips that made Keralie easy to control sound interesting, however we haven't heard anything about them BEFORE they were the explanation for her killing the queens. Which also was a bit out of the blue, I though Varin would be the killer to be honest. And Arabella the mastermind that thought of everything.. apparently wasn't such a mastermind because she was caught. I don't know I just felt kinda meh 😅 (hide spoiler)]

Starting chapter 33, and I'll be also finishing the book today.

Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[😂 I think that I'm just now figuring out that this is told in two timelines. I mean yes, Kera saw all of the queens murdered so obvs they are dead, but reading from the POVs of the other queens I though that maybe they are still alive and that the murders WILL happen 🤷 And it NEVER crossed my mind that those POVs could be in the past 😅 (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 26 The book started being interesting (view spoiler)[ 😮🤯 Now that I thought that it's in a dual timeline past-now I'm shocked it's actually now-future 🤯

I would search the palace hallways for Mackiel. Once I found him, I’d drag him to the guards and force the truth from his lips. Not only would I hand over the head of the black market, but a cold-blooded murderer. I would be rewarded with HIDRA. I would see my family again.

Soooo, I'm not really confident in Kera being able to do that 😂😅

Chapter 27 (view spoiler)[The comm chips were instructions on how to kill the queens, sent to the assassin from the person orchestrating the murders. Which meant that Mackiel had delivered the rerecorded chips to the assassin, or he was the assassin.

What if the messenger is actually the killer?🤔 That would be a good way to know the kill plan.. and he can visit the place where the queens are.

Finished chapter 32, and if I hadn't had to read a book for another BR I probably would've finished this.. might even finish it later if I have time. Things really picked up in chapter 26 and now I'm curious what'll happen.

I finally picked it up; for some reason I'm not that eager to continue reading this even though it's not bad, it's well written and the POV switches keep you well informed of life in and out of the palace.. but still. I'm going to try and read at least half of what is left of the book.

Oh-oh not particularly enjoying it doesn't sound that good 😅

Okay, started it.
First thought was oh, great another Ove (I DNFed that book), but I'm laughing now as Patricia is complaining about her marital life while he's, probably, trying to fire her.

“My daughter pierced her septum,” Patricia said forlornly. “She looks like a bull. My little girl, wanting a matador to chase her own and stick things in her.”

I finished chapter 3, and I like Mai and how she's so light and chill. But other than that I don't know how I feel about the book, I'm going to read a bit more later and see.

How goes the reading for you guys?

I'm going to be a bit bad in this BR 😅
I haven't read at all past chapter 8, and I'm not going to read it today either..probably. I'm going to try and finish one other book. BUT tomorrow is its day.

I'm getting the book, so I'll give it a look (It's not like I already have started some things that need finishing 😅).

But I must say I'm not so eager to pick up this author because of his previous book, The House in the Cerulean Sea.

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ It's interesting how Corra is shocked and wants to grieve Iris when from Iris' perspective Corra was cold. Although, it also would make some sense, the four of them are the only ones that know how the other ones feel, stuck in one place never to leave, with the weight of their quadrants on their shoulders.

Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[Ooooh, betrayal. I live for this. I like how Kera and Mac (I cant remember how their names are pronounced and less how they are splled) were friends, got a bit distant but still worked together and apparently trusted each other and then BOOM betreeeeyal. Chapter 6 (view spoiler)[😮 she saw all of the queen's deaths. I expected that she would see only Iris'.. Cool, I'm definitely interested in the story now (hide spoiler)]

I finished chapter 8, and I think that's enough for today 😂
After 8 chapters I can think of the queens and the quadrants and know who is who, and where they rule... so it takes a bit of time but you get there.

😂 I don't know if the book will help. I was looking at the map and was still confused. I even read some parts and then went to the map, got back to the chapter, and again to the map.

I started the book, and I'm only on the second chapter, but I have to comment how I get confused which kingdom is which, and what queen they have.

I also find it a bit weird that we have 4 kingdoms that are opposites and all that in a small land space, at least it looks small. where's the rest of the world.

I'm going to start it a bit later, because I can't control myself and read only one chapter a day 😂
