You can start the book whenever you want in the month of March. I just thought this way, if there was a kinda definite time for the books to be read, that more of us would participate.

I want to read 2 of the books, maybe even all 3, but I knew I would have a problem which book to pick up first because I don't know what the majority would pick up first.. and I like to talk to people about the books I read.

She's a little too obsessed with fooling the Heavens that she is Zhu Chongba.

At first I was okay, that's her way of making herself stay in line, not to give herself up.. but now (in the rebel army) she's so concerned about it and thinks that if she prays strong enough the Heavens and behaves so Congba-ish that the Heavens won't notice 😅😅 yeeeeah

How can the chores of novices sound interesting? 😂 I mean maybe not extra interesting, but I don't mind listening to it. On one hand it sounds like it won't bring anything important to the story, but on the other hand it shows years of her life in the monastery and how that's shaping her.

I'm intrigued with the ghosts...

I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this book.

Chapter 19 (view spoiler)[ Ooooh, so the planet that Spensa saw in Cytonic, that was going around Detritus or the other way around it, was Evershore. That's cool to find out. Also, damn the slugs are powerful. Shouldn't be a surprise since there are so many of them. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Jorgen is in charge 🤯 I mean from the last page in Cytonic we knew something was up, but damn.. When he was promoted vice admiral I was aha, ok, that makes sense.. but Cob made him admiral. That's just great, good for him.

I like his friendship with FM. And I'm glad we had these novellas to see relationships between people develop. If we had learned that FM and Jorgen are friends friends in the books I would've just glossed over it because it wouldn't really mean a thing for me. I also would not distinguish FM from Kimmalyn, because I always think that Kimmalyn is a name and FM a call sign...for the same person.

All in all, liked it... more than Cytonic definitely, and maaaaybe more than Starsight. I really hope that the next (and last?) book will be better. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ I like that Jorgen is unique, that he has his own power he's better at than Spensa or Alanik. I think that Spensa doesn't even know about the mind blades. (hide spoiler)]

I finally started it 🥳 So I made the first step, others shouldn't be that difficult.
Even before starting this book I was intimidated by it because my thinking went it's fantasy that means it's a big book.. and even after seeing it has 300+ pages in my mind it was still a big book. Maybe, because of the color of the cover, it was reminding me of The Priory of the orange tree and boy was that a big book. Now, after seeing the gigantic paragraphs, I see I was afraid with right, but it's not that bad.

Read only the first chapter because it's late, so I'll pick it up tomorrow. I like how she doesn't have a name, that there was more behind that move. By referring to her as The Girl we are shown her value, well the value her family and the country thinks she's worth.

I read the first 8 chapters.

How bad is it that I'm enjoying the novellas much more than the actual book? 😅
I like that in these novellas we are exploring other planets and cultures.

I'm getting annoyed with Jorgen's pity party. If Spensa was here she would this, if she was here she would that, and I know nothing, how will I do it, Spensa would kick ass, she would be amazing at this. *heavy rolling of eyes*

Ooooooooooh, lost them like they weren't anymore official 😂 I thought they died. And even though I don't remember much who is who, I think think I would still remember them dying.

Started it and I'm shocked from the first page.

And of all of us, only two remained. We’d lost some amazing people in the months of cadet training.

No problem. Yeah, the A&O are a bit weaker than Mercy, but they have some interesting things going on.. we'll see how it'll go.

It's okay, we'll read it when you can get the book. Atm I have some BRs going on, so I would like to first finish them, or at least read a bigger chunk of those books.

I decided to put the book on hold. I want to read the book with Zayne's friend first. But I liked what I read here.
