Would you like me to delete my previous post so that you can have the 2nd spot reserved? Didn't mean to mess up your flow, there.
Nyssa wrote: "@ Spacechik - I should be getting back to it after The Iron King. :)"I finished The Iron King earlier today, but decided to read Geekomancy instead of returning to The Hunger Games, just yet. The Hand of Oberon will have to come after that; I'm starting to "lose" Amber, memory wise. Then I'll return to Katniss and Catching Fire
MrsJ, Does this series
The Parasol Protectorate Boxed Set: Soulless, Changeless, Blameless, Heartless and Timeless count as Victorian in the challenge?
Aww! Its so hard to give advice on this topic. Each child is so different.
People kept telling me that my daughter would be easier than my sons...Nope. She took her time too.
Sending moral support your way! Hang in there.

I've not read it as yet, but hubby has, and he's not sure our boy will enjoy it. For one, our son is in the 4th grade, and two, hes a tender heart like me - especially when it comes to other children, and animals. Well I certainly enjoyed The Hunger Games, but I'm not so sure about letting the twins read it, just yet. Problem is, if I say "no" then my son will be separated from his reading group until they're done (which could take up to 4 weeks - the group meets twice a week, they'll break it up into sections and have assignments based on where they are in the book) and I don't like the idea of disrupting his classwork like that...
I have to think about this.
LOL! I learned that lesson the hard way! Patience! The more you stress about the more they stress ... Or they become stubborn because it's something they can control. You'll get there. It just takes time.
*Smile* Mommy of 3. they are 12, 10 & 10. To be perfectly honest, the twins were and are easier than the eldest in everything but the actual pregnancies. I didn't appreciate how great my first pregnancy was until my 2nd. LOL.
The key with infant twins is syncing schedules. They ate and slept at the same time, which helped a lot.
The Guns of Avalon is complete! I'm going to take a mental break, then start The Hunger Games either this afternoon or tonight.
Ha! Twin sister just asked if she can read The Hunger Games as well! Looks like it'll be a family affair, especially if we can get eldest interested (although I doubt it). LOL
Although, The Guns of Avalon is only 134 pgs (in the omnibus edition) it is taking me forever!!Oh, I'll neither be reading Geekomancy nor The Iron King next. My youngest son informed me that the advanced reading group in his class will be starting The Hunger Games next week. I've not read it as yet, but hubby has, and he's not sure our boy will enjoy it. Book #4
Shadow Blade is complete. Now on to The Guns of Avalon.
Then I'll decide if I want to bend to book peer pressure (**smile**) and read Geekomancy or read Paranormal Addicts & Newbies - Paranormal Romance & UrbanFantasy's YA Debut/First in Series Selection The Iron King.
So I did finish A Town Like Alice, but I'm still trying to decide abut taking The Great Book of Amber, or keeping my Kindle with me and giving Shadow Blade another go.
I'm hoping to finish A Town Like Alice tonight. Then its back to Amber with The Guns of Avalon. I haven't decided, however, if I want to lug that huge book to school with me in order to read during my planning period and lunch break, or if I want to wait until I get home tomorrow night.
