I also voted for science, but I am seriously hoping for mythology. I have always loved mythology, even though I have not read much. While the MR library is sentimentally appealing, as a US resident it could cause me more grief than good.

LOL!
Forgive me friends, but I ended up opting for something completely different! **blush** **smile**We took the kids to the bookstore yesterday, and I mentioned to my Hubby that I was interested in reading The Color of Earth, the first book in a manga series I stumbled across while perusing GoodReads.
As we were still searching the shelves, (it turned out not to be available at that location), Hubby pointed out Chobits: Omnibus, Vol. 1, another anime/manga series. He saw a few episodes online and thought I might like it.
I'm now 9 chapters in, and although I could not explain why, I am enjoying it! I already have the 2nd omnibus on order (as well as the Colors series). I also watched the first 2 or 3 episodes. The show and the books start at different points in the story, and the translations are quite different, for certain scenes, as well, but both cover the same points, eventually.
These will be my first forays into anime/manga.
[This is cross posted on MR]

I don't appear to have any backups for 2007 other than Organizing Information: From the Shelf to the Web which is sounded too work related."I have a suggestion, but, its a book I have not read as yet. It is on my "wishlist", though: Tunnels by Roderick Gordon.

This in no way answers the publisher's side of the question, but here is a little of what a self-published author (my BIL) has seen, as far as Amazon pricing.Links go to his blog:

Homeinmyshoes wrote: "I'm really enjoying Michael Frayn's Spies so far."It looks interesting... but I refuse to put anything else on my TBR list right now! In fact, I want to try to make it to summer before adding any new books (other than current series).
Well so far, between here and MR , thats two votes for both library books (Caleb agrees with you, Christa), one vote for Catching Fire (Alan) and one vote for The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (HiMS).
#4 was nominated for Adventure/Travel as well, (I voted for it) but came in 9th place (out of 10). I'm glad to know you still keep an eye on the book club; I thought we'd run you off for good. I wish you were willing/able to help us pick the categories as well.
Help! Not sure what I want to read:
1. Finish The Hand of Oberon which I started yesterday.
2. In a Sunburned Country (My Library/Overdrive hold came through today)
3. Catching Fire
4. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (Borrowed from Library/Overdrive yesterday)
5. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (MRBC Selection)
6. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (Which has been waiting patiently on my dresser)
