42178 Nope! Not a problem at all! :)

42178 I've been told to interrupt my regularly scheduled book to read Origin by Jessica Khoury Origin.

My daughter just finished this minutes ago and informed me that it is my turn. Daddy read it a couple of days ago, in one sitting, so that she would have someone with whom to discuss the book, but she wants me in on it as well.

How can I possibly say no. :)

I think Alan (alansplace) reads Kate Daniels...

Ok. Thanks. :)

Ah... Easy, predictable or both?

Hmm..That's been on my "Wish List" for a while now.... along with about 100 other series.

Glad to be of help! :)

I can't wait for the next Dresden Files either. Skin Games will be #15 ;)

That sounds absolutely frustrating! You're probably liking the overall story even though you're not that crazy about the specific characters - I've had that happen before.

I hope it improves for you, or that you can get to a point where you can put it down "freely".

42178 So, I finished Night Heat (Steele Series, #2) by Brenda Jackson Night Heat last night, and briefly started Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger Changeless; Book 2 in The Parasol Protectorate Boxed Set Soulless, Changeless, Blameless, Heartless and Timeless by Gail Carriger The Parasol Protectorate Boxed Set: Soulless, Changeless, Blameless, Heartless and Timeless.
I'm starting to like Alexia more, after the first chapter, than I did in the last book. I have a feeling her new lot in life will suit her very well! I hope I can put in some quality reading time tomorrow after work.

Ditto.

She seems to go from "Are you stupid"? in the first book to "Really?" in the remaining books, with an occasional "Ugh!" thrown in. LOL But when she gets things right (especially when her friends get involved) they're pretty awesome!

Ever since #4 I just can't get enough.

I think I'm going to try the Southern Vampire series soon."

I loved the first 8.. wasn't that impressed with 9, which is where I left off once I decided to wait.

The last book (#13) Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse, #13) by Charlaine Harris Dead Ever After was released in May, but I'm not sure when the paperback will come out. DO NOT READ the Comments!!

I, unfortunately, spoiled part of the ending for myself when I read an interview a few weeks back. One of the things she actually mentioned years ago, but the majority of fans either forgot, was hoping she would change her mind, or never knew.

*Smile* I'm not sure where I left off... I vaguely remember (view spoiler) although I have a feeling I got beyond that point.

I decided however, like with the Southern Vampire series, to wait until the series was complete. I think she's stopping at book 13, as well.

I do have:
The Hollows Insider New fiction, facts, maps, murders, and more in the world of Rachel Morgan by Kim Harrison The Hollows Insider: New fiction, facts, maps, murders, and more in the world of Rachel Morgan, Into the Woods Tales from the Hollows and Beyond (The Hollows, #10.1) by Kim Harrison Into the Woods: Tales from the Hollows and Beyond and the preorder for The Undead Pool (The Hollows, #12) by Kim Harrison The Undead Pool all waiting (impatiently) in my "Cart" on Amazon, though.

No, but it looks interesting, so I've just gotten book one, don't know when I get to it though."

LOL.

Here's why I'm asking (cross posted on MobileRead):

This series was suggested to me about a year or two ago and has been sitting on my Wish List ever since. I now have a gift card that I can use to cover most (but not all) of the cost of the 8 book box set (Kindle Edition). If I like the series, then this is a pretty good deal, as most of the individual books are $7.99 each.

So, I'm looking for feedback on the series as a whole.

Other series that I've liked, that I think might be similar, are:

The Dresden Files
The Hollows
The Southern Vampire (or Sookie Stackhouse) - [I liked the first 8 better than book #9 - waiting for the paperback edition of book 13 before I read the others]
Twilight [Specifically Books 3 & 4]

I also like the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and am currently enjoying the Parasol Protectorate series, but despite their having vampires, I doubt either is similar to Morganville, although I could be wrong.

42178 Have any of you read The Morganville Vampires series ?

Any thoughts?

Yes its Winterhaven, but I just refer to the whole area as Orlando. :)

If you find something closer to you, in the area let me know. It would be really cool to meet up.

If you're a shopper there's also Ikea.

If we plan something early enough I can see if my in-laws can take the kids.
