I'm very slowly making my way through this book. Harry is now staying at the Sirius' house and is still fighting to learn what's going on. I love the (view spoiler)[ screaming painting of Sirius' mom!! That's hilarious. And Fred and George's extendable ears are too much! (hide spoiler)]

It sounds very frustrating for everyone that the Ministry of Magic (view spoiler)[ is refusing to acknowledge that Voldemort might be back and is manipulating the news and trying to discredit Harry. (hide spoiler)]

I'm up to Summer's part of the book. It's interesting how the book is divided up into different character's POV's.

August - (view spoiler)[ you've got to admire this kid with agreeing to go to school and put himself out there. He's pretty insightful for a boy who has been so insulated. It was sad that he saw through Julian right away, and even sadder that he didn't see through Jack Will. It broke my heart when he overhead Jack's conversation with his buddies. I liked how his sister sort-of manipulated him to get back to school though! (hide spoiler)]

Via - (view spoiler)[ - I feel so bad for Olivia having to give up so much of her own childhood due to August's condition. Seeing how many times her parents overlooked her needs in favor of August, even now that he's healthier was heartbreaking. I'm glad she really does love her family, though, and (at least so far) isn't acting out! (hide spoiler)]

All our spells are completed and the only thing we have left in our Classes is our 2 ARCs.

If you don't mind, please continue to include the letters for spells until we have info on the Tri-Wizard tournament (in case we need to move books around.) Once we know what that looks like, we can re-evaluate.

Grady never grew on me - (view spoiler)[he didn't get much better throughout the book. He wasn't a bad guy, but there wasn't anything special about him. (hide spoiler)]

@Martiza - I agree with you! Why anyone would think Finlay (view spoiler)[ basically trying to live her brother's life would help her recover is beyond me. Also, I realized that there wasn't much, if anything, about what Finlay wanted out of her life in the story. She's still an afterthought! Another thing that annoyed me was Caden telling her she'd make a great nurse - why not a great doctor?

As for pulling his team together - you're right! He wasn't much of a leader, and why the coach kept in some of the players when they didn't protect him seemed very surprising. (hide spoiler)]

So overall, this book was just okay for me. It felt kind-of like a first novel so I was surprised the author had a number of other books already published.

Me too Jennie. I liked how the author (view spoiler)[ tied up all the loose ends. Sometimes this doesn't work - you just feel like you've been strung along throughout the book, but it did work here. I also liked how Tiffany was helping Pat's mom stand up for herself. (hide spoiler)]

You must have read it somewhere else, Mary - this doesn't come out until almost the end of the book. 😊
