I've finished Chapter 10. Wow, I'm not sure what to think about everything.

Through Ch 4
I've got mixed feelings so far. Grace's situation is very sad (view spoiler)[ although I don't understand why she moves back to her hometown for the summer with Finn being there? There seemed to be a big deal made over a bunch of old, small suitcases - where is all the rest of their stuff? Shouldn't there be a moving van? (hide spoiler)]

I can tell that (view spoiler)[ there will be much more to Jackson than is initially shown. I was really surprised that when Grace broke down and started arguing with Jackson about Finn. I liked his quote "You don't got to know what love is to know what it isn't."

Ch 5-10
Wow! (view spoiler)[ When Grace initially asked Finn who he had his affair with and he hesitated, it figured it was someone she knew. I didn't expect this! I was even more shocked when he admitted to cheating with others, in front of Autumn, and Autumn didn't blink and eye. And again.....why is Grace staying in this town? (hide spoiler)]

I really like (view spoiler)[ Josie! I like how she tells Grace to "zoom in" when she looks at people, rather than judging them on what she sees on the surface. (hide spoiler)]

Why do so many of these NA books have (view spoiler)[ parents who are so mean to their kids? I really don't like Grace's mom! At least her sister is sweet. I wasn't surprised when Grace had the run-in with Mike, and then Jackson told her how intolerant the townspeople, including Grace's parent's were, when they were supposed to show compassion. I'm wondering what happened when Mike crashed into the church! (hide spoiler)]

One thing that bugs me about the writing is the constant use of "ya know" - even Grace's dad used it!!

I'm up to Chapter 7 and I'm cracking up.

I like how Maddie (view spoiler)[ refers to all the contestants by their states and not their names - it's much easier to follow who is who. I was laughing out loud at Miss Arkansas' answer to her interview question about euthanasia. (hide spoiler)]

Ummm.. I guess you haven't noticed that the eye candy books are my go-to! The other ones are just for Buddy Read points!!

I'm trying to keep track of all the books I've got going at right now....I told myself I wouldn't do this again. 🤪

I'm still trying to read , plus I've joined Buddy Reads for and . And then I've got as my current audible listen and for another challenge. Oh, and I want to read for another Buddy Read. Sigh.....

I'm into Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ and Avery sees him with another girl and he calls that girl sweetheart. So that must be his "babe." The one I really hate and notice is "doll," and I'm so glad he doesn't use that one - at least so far!! (hide spoiler)]

You know what, Laura - I'm in California and it's 3 hours from here. I can't remember where Maddie is from, so it may be more....my bad!

The only other books of her's I've read is , which I enjoyed - but I think it's a lot different than this one!

Just a quick note - when you post your books in the Completed Books thread, no need to include any more spells info - I think we have plenty in case we need to move things around. Hopefully we'll get info on the Tri-Wizard tournament soon!
