I've finished too! I ended up liking this book much more than I initially thought I would. (view spoiler)[ I liked Quinn more at the end knowing that she was trying to move on. I really like Graham and liked him throughout the book.

I did like that the author talked about Quinn still crying in the shower, because otherwise the outcome was a little too pat. A couple of other things that I kind-of rolled my eyes at - I don't think it's that easy to just decide to move to another country for an extended period of time. Also (and I'm sure you agree with me on this one, Laura!) why is a rescue organization adopting out a 7-week old puppy?????

Overall I really ended up liking the story - I think the letters did it for me. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I really, really like (view spoiler)[Graham. Early on he said they were soul mates and he shows throughout the book he really believes that. His letters were so touching and thoughtful and insightful. And it was so interesting to see the episode where he was holding his new nephew from his point of view! (hide spoiler)]

I'm up to this point now. Wow! Poor Quinn, (view spoiler)[ well, really, both of them. For her to have lost any chance at all of having a baby is devastating. I've been struggling with liking Quinn (although I did like her in the "then" chapters, I haven't been liking her much in the "now" chapters. I do really like Graham despite what he did.

I had been wondering why Quinn didn't see a counselor, but it looks like they did and it didn't help. She seems so hopeless! (hide spoiler)]

I'm at this point. I feel much better about Graham (view spoiler)[ that he didn't sleep with Quinn and I liked the note he left. I'm feeling a bit better about their finding their way to each other now, then when I first started the book.

I've never had any kids - it just never happened with my ex and me, but I was never obsessed with having a child. I know this isn't uncommon, though, and I feel bad for Quinn. It is hard to really like her, though - she's just an unhappy, depressed person unable to live her life at this point in the story.

I do like the "then" and "now" back and forth - it definitely keeps you interested to learn what happened "then" to get us to "now." (hide spoiler)]

We have another piece added to our TT Challenge - a spell out for characters. The link for more info is here

Basically it's another spell-out for characters from the Harry Potter books. We can use any books not previously used through the end of the challenge. Same rules as for spells:
For each letter read books with titles, series names, authors (first or last names) that begin with letters that correspond to the word you choose. You also can use main or secondary characters (first or last names, and also nicknames). You may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.)


Please start including this info again with your completion post

I'll be adding the info to our planning spreadsheet in the next couple of days (I have several buddy reads I want to make sure get done before the 31st.) I'll let you guys know if I need you to update any info from the books we've read that we haven't collected this info on (or feel free to update your book info on the planning spreadsheet.)

I'm here now. It was a bit surprising at first (view spoiler)[ that Ron and Hermione were appointed Prefects and Harry was not. But then, it made more sense. I see lots of discord ahead because of this, though! :-) (hide spoiler)]

The hearing (view spoiler)[ seemed to be a major set-up, what with changing the time and, as Dumbledore pointed out, making it such a big deal for a small infraction. I really wonder what's up with Cornelius Fudge! (hide spoiler)]
