35559 This one also jumps around in time. I agree...confusing! Plus I am a visual learner, not auditory. I rarely listen to books on tape. I'm somewhat envious of my friends who can listen while driving or doing household chores. My brain just doesn't work that way. Music is all I can manage while I multi-task. :-0

35559 Thanks, Mary-ellen!

I started listening to my Stop 8 book on CD a week ago. It's Avenue of Mysteries for my "avenue or street in title" book. I like the narrator, but finding the book a bit difficult to follow in audio format. I thought it would be good for a car trip, but then it didn't come into my library in time for the trip. Listening to it for just 5-10 minute jaunts around town is not ideal and will probably take forever to finish since there are 10 CDs. Live and learn! I'll probably end up getting the book and reading it. WOBBLE has me pretty consumed at the moment!

The Captain's Lounge said "yes" to Salt to Sea since it's a maritime disaster. I'll put it on the ss.

They said "yes" in the Captain's Lounge, so I'll add it to the ss.

35559 Lauri and Cecily,
Laura asked me to post both books to the captain's lounge for verification. I'll let you know as soon as I hear. Fingers crossed!

Hmmm...they look more like silhouettes to me, but what do you think, Amanda and Laura? Hard call to make for me.

35559 While I'm waiting for my book to come in, I'd like to take Labor 11 "set in England". I am reading The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson .

Ok. I'll skip that task for now then. If someone else wants to read for it, go ahead. I'll be reading The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible to fill Labor 3 "spell Pemberley

35559 Now I'm second guessing if Valley of the Moon will fit for a spell. I read some of the reviews and synopsis again and it's a time travel thing. I still think of that as a spell of sorts, but not sure the mods will agree. Laura, what do you think?

35559 I finished The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert for my first main task read and will add it to the Read thread. If you're looking for a sweet, simple love story centered around food that is a fast read this is the book for you. Also they included the recipe in the back for the cake and reviewers have said it's delicious! I'll be making it for book club, so I'll let you know. :)

For my second main task I will read Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon for Labor 1 "Where someone is under someone's spell". The whole town in under a spell in the story.

35559 Margaret, I checked at my library and it's not at my branch, but I went ahead and requested it. It can be to my branch by tomorrow. If you can't get it and want me to read it, just let me know.

That's been on my "want to" list for awhile too, Margaret! I've heard it's excellent.
