The Lemony Snicket book should work, even though it's classified as a child's book. I've read a few myself and while I know there's some illustrations the word count should be high enough. I can take it to the Captain's thread to make sure, if Jessi thinks we should do that. I strive to make books fit more than one challenge...hope it works for you!

35559 Great that you found another U book. That’s going to be our tough letter to fill.

35559 Chava,
How much of the timeline is at UCLA? Usually they’re looking for 50% or more.

Ok Brittany, I've got this book on the planning SS. Let me know what task you want to use for it and I'll add that.
Hope your next book is much better!

Ugh. It's hard when that happens! BA Paris books are usually so good. Sorry that happened.

35559 I've been wanting to read Pachinko forever! If I can get it from the library in time, I will read it. I can't commit to DQs because I don't know when I'll get it. Right now the wait is 3 weeks, but that can vary depending on how soon the people ahead return it.

Thanks Eunice for volunteering to write the DQs for Spin. Fingers crossed you are chosen! We could use some extra points!

Yes, if anyone else wants to volunteer for DQs, please do!

35559 Hey Brittany,
Books need to be at least 160 pages for this challenge. Here are the rules about it:

Books must be at least 160 pages in length. Children's books, Graphic Novels, Scripts/plays (movie and theater), Cookbooks and Poetry books cannot be used unless by word count they can be verified (by arbookfinder.com or arbookfinder.co.uk) as at least 40,000 words or have an audio edition that is at least 5 hours long

35559 Jessi,
My book A Piece of the World works for the "art" tag. It's MPG (158 users).

35559 Anyone planning to read either of the BOMs for July?
I'm still waiting for both to come in from my library. I'm still a 3 week out for both of them.

Really hot here in VA today! Aiming for some down time to read inside in the cool!

35559 Karen, happy to help! Sometimes these challenges take a village! :)
Jul 25, 2020 06:41AM

35559 My book, Mere Christianity works for the tag "arts" on page 4 (10 people).

35559 Good morning, team! Well at least in the US...many of the rest of you are slumbering away! :)

Time for Round 4! I know we are low on the totem pole compared to other teams, but hey it's a good thing to have room for improvement and it will be fun to see if we can move up a bit. When I enter challenges my goals are to have fun, meet new people, read more than normal, and read things I might not otherwise read.

Hope you all are doing well and enjoying our Cat team!

Hey Ann,
Looks like we could use that C book to finish up our last spell out! Go ahead and put it on the planning sheet. So glad you had that one!

35559 @Zoe,
Could you please add tasks for your books when you get a minute?
Thanks!

35559 @Celanchia,
You're good to go to use "beach" for the task on Monte'!

Yay for you, Nancy! Thanks for getting all that updated!

You've got a lot going on in your RL right now, for sure! Our kids here in Virginia are still 100% virtual, so our working parents are really in a mess trying to figure out daycare and how to also spend the time with their kids teaching them. The daycares, by and large, are refusing to set up their facilities for the school aged children to do their online schoolwork there. Crazy!

Celanchia, it looks like a big, rocky beach to me. I think it works. Any one else want to give an opinion?
