Whoa! I hadn't noticed that, Midu, but you're right!

I know! Phones are so expensive and yet we seem to need them to function in our daily lives. It's amazing how we used to be just fine without them! :)

35559 Trying to decide if my book The Wife Stalker will work for task 85 Read a book with a family relation word (e.g. sister / brother / son) in the title

I'm fairly certain "wife" is a family relation word, but just need some nods from you all!

35559 This virus just doesn't stop! We are ramping up again in the US too. Our state of VA is one of the few that doesn't have increasing numbers, but we'll most likely join the other states soon. We don't have any policing to keep people from driving from one state into another. California, and a few other states have shut down their beaches for our July 4th holiday weekend, but many are still open and Americans are going to them in droves!

35559 Good that you were able to get out, Chava!

That's rough, Chava. Hope you continue to feel better!

Yes! They are on restaurant menus as dessert all the time!

35559 Well, I've been slow on reading the last few days, so it was nice to have a quick read. I'm secretly hoping at the very end the mods will tell us that if you read the team book, you get some extra points! Haha! They are always throwing fun things into challenges, so maybe their clever minds will go in that direction!

35559 Yikes, Megan! I read a book also recently that had the Spanish Flu pandemic. It's all so much more relevant now, isn't it?

I finished our team book, The Travelling Cat Chronicles. It's a really sweet, feel-good, fast read. The kind of book you could recommend to your grandmother. A few tears at the end, but mostly charming and up-lifting.

35559 Jessi,
No worries. This is a huge team to manage and there are a lot of balls in the air with all the tabs on the spreadsheet! I think you're doing great!

Fantastic that you were chosen for DQs. I'm really hoping my library copy will come in time, but the wait right now is 10 weeks. Fingers crossed that it's a shorter time than predicted!

35559 Nice, Chava! Thanks for doing this for the team!

Meanwhile, I'm finding The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz a bit dry and a slow start. I'm only 20% in, but it feels like I've been reading forever! I adore the other books I've read by Erik Larson and this one has rave reviews, so sure hoping it picks up in speed soon. Has anyone on the team read this? Does the pace improve?

I did get our team book from the library, which looks like a much lighter read, so I'm going to take a break from the Larson book and read Travelling Cat.

35559 I will be reading Hatchet for the tag "trippy". It's listed on page 20 of the tags. I'll add it to the planning sheet.
Jun 26, 2020 07:28PM

35559 That makes total sense about answering at least 50% of the DQs. Thanks for the explanation! ;)

35559 Jessi wrote: "@Ann and Nanci, thanks for the posts. I searched and couldn't find your answers yesterday when I first looked."

I just wrote my 3rd posts last night. I didn't realize 3 was the magic number! LOL

I'm on the waitlist for the next BOM (Dear Martin). It's a long wait, but if it comes in I will read and answer DQs again. I just can't sign up to write DQs this time, as I doubt I'll have the book in time.

Does anyone else want to write DQs for round 2? If chosen it gives us extra points. :)

Hi Sally,
I'm reading our team book also for this round! Going to pick it up from my library drive through today. Hope we both like it!

35559 Never mind, Jessi. I found the tab on the planning spreadsheet and entered the links for my responses. We should be all set!

35559 Jessi,
For The Jetsetters my posts are:
Day 1 Post 194
Day 2 Post 195
Day 4 Post 308

I haven't seen a place to put these on the planning spreadsheet. If there is one, please let me know and I'll use it in the future. Thanks! I know it's a lot of work being captain...I want to make it as easy as possible for you!

Great job, Brittany, on getting a big old doorstopper done! I'm not a huge fan of fantasy, but I love Neil Gaiman!
