In the 6th spellout we still need an E and an X according to the planning sheet. However, I think some people don't use the planning sheet, so I'm not sure what else people are reading currently. I would say read whichever one you prefer!

35559 Finished my first book, so I'm reading a bit slower than normal. It was so good, I wanted to take my time and savor it! My next book up Prodigal Summer I understand is also one meant to be enjoyed slowly. At 444 pages, hope I can get it done in time. At least I'll be listening to my 3rd book, so that shouldn't compete for my time. Sadly, a few others I'm reading don't work for this round. :(

35559 Sure! I know! It can take me a long time to find them myself just for my few. It’s too bad the short cut way doesn’t work better.

35559 Jessi,
While I think of it, here's the info on my tags for round 3.
Prodigal Summer is tagged "Summer" on page 1 by 21 people.
The Summer Wives is tagged "Summer" on page 1 by 18 people.

If anyone is looking for a good read that's tagged "Summer" I recommend The Summer Wives. It works for an I in the spell out.

35559 @Karen
Thanks so much for the explanation and how I can access it. I'll add that app to my phone. I don't mind reading on my phone, but I didn't want to read it on my computer. I hope I get time to read it in the next 2 weeks; it looks really interesting! Good find!

35559 So sorry that happened to you, Sally. Thanks for letting me know the X author! If we end up needing another X, I'll see if I can get it. At this point, it seems like we might have enough X's between your book and Midu's so that's great!

I am putting a few books on the planning SS in a bit for Round 3. I chose two that have the "summer" tag. Easy to find lots of books for those tags this time around. Both of my books have high page counts, so I'm not going to enter too many more until I see how my progress goes.

35559 I just finished one last book! It won't work for the next round, so hope you can get it in for this one!

Sally, who is the X author? If I can get them, I'll try to read one!

35559 I haven't found any books that work for X, but I have some E books planned and also I've found two that fit the tag "summer".

Karen,
I tried for a long time to get the book to send to my Kindle and also my Kindle app on my iPad, but I couldn't get it to send. I'm on wifi on both devices. Any other tricks you know. There wasn't a "send to Kindle" button when I clicked on the book on my shelf in netgalley.

35559 Sally the countdown clock is in message 6. It ends at 10pm London, England time today. For me on the east coast of the US that is about 10 hours from this posting.

35559 I know just what you mean! I have the same completion-list issue! LOL

35559 Good job, all! It is hard to be right on target for books read in a month, but challenges usually cause me to read a few more than normal. I’ve been reading a bit more than planned for the first two rounds. For round 3, I have some that are close to 500 pages, so I won’t read as many books, but I may end up reading more pages. Nice that this challenge gives points based on pages and not just number of books!

35559 I thought I had committed to one more book for this round, but I just looked at the planning sheet and my books are completed! I have started a new book, but with less than 24 hours left in this round if I don't finish it I'll just use it for Round 3. The only letter it fits for this round is a B and it doesn't look like we'll need that.

Good luck on finishing up your reads, team!

Oh wow! I don't think I have any X books, but I'll be checking when I take a reading break!

Nice! Thanks, Vaidehi! I think I'm going to squeeze across the finish line close to the end time. Just one more to go now!

35559 Question about the time clock:

So the time says it's set for London. Can someone please tell me what date/time it will be in the US eastern standard time (Richmond, VA) when the clock runs out for me?

I might have been overly ambitious in still needing to listen to/read 3 more books and I want to make sure I get them done before the next round, so I don't leave us needing those letters in the spell out.
Thanks!

I love Anne Tyler and think I've read most of her books, but they definitely are not light reads. I have to gear up for them when I decide to read one!

35559 If anyone is looking for a fast read that's a fun psychological thriller I recommend The Wife Stalker. The Constantine sisters have written another winner with some good twists and turns at the end! It's their newest and was just published in May 2020. I'm lucky I was able to get it at our library. They've started a new program where you can walk up to the window (one patron at a time) and look at the new hot releases and select as many as you like. :)
