(And I'd say that no matter how many points we have.)"Thank you, Suzanne! If there's anything I need to do just let me know. I have a fairly unscheduled day today, so I'll be checking the thread off and on.

I'm trying not to bring in any new books because my physical TBR is bordering on ridiculous 😅 I'm intimidated by the Stephen King, as well,..."Good to know, Leslie Ann! You and I have similar tastes, so that makes me feel better. Elinor and Kerri we can have a support group for the King doorstopper and encourage one another to keep reading. If anyone else wants to join the party, come on in!
ETA: Suzanne welcome to the party!
Elinor wrote: "@Nanci, btw, are you OK with The Daughter of Doctor Moreau or would you like a backup? (for the DQs)"Elinor, I would love to know you're waiting in the wings! Yes, please! So kind of you to offer. If it doesn't come in by today, then you're on. Will it be enough notice for me to let you know by 5pm my time tonight? I know you're about 5-6 hours ahead of me, so you might not see my post until Tuesday morning your time. If that's pushing it for you, I could let you know by noon my time today. Usually there's a book delivery twice/day at my library. One about 11am and another about 4-5pm.
I'm not sure what we need to do to let them know you'll be doing the questions for me. Suzanne, how do we handle that, if needed?

So hard to lose a pup. We still refer to our first dog as "the wonder dog". She will always be in our hearts.
Good to know about the King book. It's rare that I read a book of that length bc there are so many other books calling my name, but it could be a good goal for the year.

Excited to write questions for Day 3. Now come on library...send me an email that it's in! I'm #1 in the queue. Fingers crossed it comes in on Monday!
I'm so tempted to read the Stephen King BOM, but scared of the huge 849 page count! My library has it, so I've entered a request. I'll start it and if it reads fast then I'll give it a go. It sounds really good, but it's going to limit my other reading in June. I'll keep you posted!
If anyone enjoys historical fiction, I highly recommend The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post that I just finished. It will fit the 400 page category and reads so fast! I don't often give books 5 stars, but this one earned it.
Cris (The Biblio Blonde) wrote: "Aw, thanks everyone. We got him before TTX started (spring break) so I probably didn't mention him specifically. His name is Toby and he's an almost 5 month old standard poodle. He joins sister Sad..."Finally checked out your doggies on Insta. They are adorable! People underrate standard poodles. My bil is a vet and he says they are the very best breed. They don't require a huge amount of exercise, even though they are large dogs, they are great family dogs, they are smart, they are great for people with allergies, they don't have any of the hip issues associated with large dogs, they live a longer time for a large dog, and they are loyal. Can't ask for much more than that!
I am planning to read Project Hail Mary, which is 476pgs, so that will take care of another book in the 400-499 slot.
Oh wow, I didn't see that I get to do the questions for Day 3! I'm glad it's not Day 1, as I'm still waiting for it to come in, but I'm sure it will be in by then. I'm not a big fan of writing the questions, but I like getting those extra points!Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! Those of humans and fur babies!
Looks good to me for black, Vi. I'm not sure of the Winners towers, but I would think if you could find a way to fit it there that would be better, as they're harder to find.
Can someone please give me the link that explains about the Winners towers? I don't know what any of them mean and someone had mentioned there's an explanation for them, but I can't find it. Thanks!

Really hard...I don't think there is an obvious color.
Suzanne, have a wonderful time in Moab. We rented a Jeep and did a few trails fall of 2021. I am familiar with your trail. Such a gorgeous area! Our group sure is a traveling team! Love hearing about everyone's trips. Our world is full of interesting places!

Now I know we have more in common than just some books. Happy early birthday wishes for your upcoming birthday!

"Lisa,
I think the orange works, but the green doesn't hit me with enough green.
Yesterday was a really fun day for me! My family showered me with love for my 70th birthday! I still can't believe that's my age and no idea how those years passed so fast! We all went to a really fun brewery with great food and games outside for all our little grandchildren. Our newest little 3 month old grandson and his parents came from Denver, so with all 7 of our grandchildren the party was complete! Feeling very blessed. Now on to books...I'm first on the list at my library now for The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, so I should definitely be able to get it read before the deadline.
Good morning all! Well for those of you in the US on the east coast, at least. I think GR was being grinchy and I'm just now getting the notifications and lots to catch up on as usual!First off- Way to go team on getting first place right out of the gates! We are doing a fantastic job grabbing those tasks and getting things completed. Wow, just wow.
Shannon- Huge congratulations on your graduation! The world needs all the smart people we can get!
Vi-Having just spent 12 days in The Netherlands, I am super impressed that you are learning the language. It's a beautiful language, but I think it would be hard to learn. I'm terrible at languages, but sure wish I could speak something other than English. Good luck on your exam!
Kerri-Congrats to you too on your first home! I still remember buying our first little house. It's an exciting time and we were always saving our pennies for one or another improvement. It's fun to be able to make those changes you want, unlike renting where you're not allowed to change anything.
I will be posting another read book soon. I just love seeing our spreadsheets fill up and peruse all the book titles everyone is reading. So early in the challenge and we’ve already made so much progress. WTG, teamies!
