I finished
. I gave it 4*. I think I liked this better because I did it audio through libro.fm. The narrator had a great tone and was very funny. I think this made it better because a few reviewers seemed to have missed some of the jokes and were just super annoyed with the main character when I thought she was funny in her quirky ways.
Currently reading
I'm way behind on my reading goal - yikes!

"I never read this series by KC. Not sure why. I'll add to my TBR.
I'm in her facebook fan group and all the hype right now is the last book in the Arcana chronicles finally coming out after her hiatus. I got a few remainder copies of book 1
for my store. I've been waiting for the series to finish before I started reading it, and she was gone for a few years.

But I think I could've skipped that part and just hit submit.

When its a netgalley book I try to make sure I finish them. Just couldn't do it this time though. I have too many books I want to get to. :)

OK, update. People shelved it on GoodReads as YA but is supposed to be adult fantasy. So I can probably get by with the OTT sex talk knowing that, but now the problem is this is supposed to be an adult book but it reads like YA, lol.

For those who get ARCs, if you are really hating a book still at like 25% do you power through since netgalley tracks you, or just give up and just give your rating and move on? This one right now wouldn't be more than 2* (and that's generous IMO) and I really don't want to read it anymore.
Its supposed to be YA, but the main character is a horrible person and there is a lot of sexual talk for YA. I really don't like this book. Its been way more explicit than a YA should be and the main character is awful. I assume as the story goes on maybe she becomes a better person or something but I already hate her too much for that, lol.
And this book is from a publisher I just got an account with for my store. oops!

4/29 is independent bookstore day. Libro.fm has partnered with stores for an audiobook promotion - find the golden ticket hidden in the store and win free audiobooks for a year (12 credits). So if you are an audiobook lover check out your local indie bookstore early on 4/29. :)

I entered a photo contest for bookstores with Libro.fm. We didn't win the grand prize but they gave everyone who entered 2 audiobook credits. I'm going to get the InnKeeper books on audio - yay!

I did get burned before by being approved for a book, I went to download it like a week later and it was gone from my shelf (that was quite a while ago). It counted against my completion so now I try to download them pretty quickly.

Oh and I placed another order with Book Depot for remainders and couldn't resist and bought the last 3 copies of The Kraken King. I couldn't leave them behind! lol

I got a store account set up with Penguin Random House so now I can order direct through them and bypass Ingram wholesale. Better discount and they have so many imprints its ridiculous. I checked and they have Kate Daniels, Iron Seas, Mercy Thompson, etc. :)
My store is mostly used but I do order new books too and have a section for those (soon adding a new section for kids too). Plus now when I want to order 1 book for a customer, if PRH has it, its not a problem because they have no minimum order for indie bookstores. Ingram had a 20 unit minimum for free shipping and I had to send people to my bookshop.org fulfillment site. I have a B&N 3 miles away so I do not want to become a mini B&N, so I some of the books I order I look for books I doubt they're carrying in store. I also just got an account with Sourcebooks which has some "internet popular" authors I've seen mentioned in various facebook groups I'm in and B&N is probably not carrying in store.
Learning so much about being a bookseller! This is fun! Just wish I had more time to read what I want to read instead of ARCs.
BTW, supposedly sometime this year bookshop.org is going to launch ebooks available through indie bookstores!

I had a customer in the bookstore yesterday talking about GoodReads and she wished she could get recommendations from people so I told her to join our group. She didn't know there were groups because she usually uses the app and didn't see them.
If you're lurking Sarah (I think that your name?), welcome!

I rescued from a library sale this morning Katie Daniels books 1-9 and The Others 1-5 to sell in my store. I couldn't leave them behind. lol. They also had Jane Yellowrock and Kresley Cole. I think the person that donated all them must've been my clone. :)

I ordered some remainders to sell in my store. I ordered 2 copies of
. One of my all time favorite books! There were 10 available through the wholesaler. I had to stop myself from buying all of them, lol. (I already a copy at home I bought new).

Libro.fm is having a February sale- some great books for 5.99 or less including:
5.99
4.99
plus an Agatha Christie for 5.99
You don't have to be a member to buy books on libro

Bookshop.org has announced that they are going to publish their first book. The author Lydia Davis did not want the book available on Amazon and no other publisher would accept that so bookshop created a publishing company. They are going to sell ebooks too!

If I recall you do need connection since the farm is in the cloud and as you do things it has to save in the background. I remember my work blocked it, lol. So I would go outside with my phone on breaks.
