222868 FYI - I saw posted on the Kresley Cole fan group on facebook a few days ago someone saying how a lot of her audiobooks disappeared from her audible account. She called Amazon and found out this had to do with the audiobooks being reissued (or something like that). Customer service did replace the books for her. She asked them if they could tell which ones she was missing (she has a big library) and they said no, and in the future you would need your receipt to get to book replaced through customer service if this happens.

(Another reason why libro.fm is better. ;) )

222868 Last week I finished the ARC of The Heretic Royal (The Scarred Earth Saga, #3) by G.A. Aiken . There are a lot of Annwyl scenes! It was great crossover book with lots of dragon antics along with the ongoing war.

Last night I finished The Golden Enclaves (The Scholomance, #3) by Naomi Novik . I enjoyed this YA series. At first I didn't like the main character but she grew on me. I really liked the 2nd book. This last book was good, but there were a couple of things I didn't care for. But I did give it 4*. It was pretty cool how everything was tied together at the end. So overall I enjoyed this trilogy even if there were parts I didn't care for.

On libro.fm audio I've been listening to Meredith, Alone by Claire Alexander . Yeah, not sure how much longer I can keep with it, but for some reason its like a train wreck and I have to see what happens. I chose this book because the author recommendation blurb said "The brilliant author of this brilliant book will have you laughing and crying as Meredith, after spending three years inside her house, figures out how to rejoin the world one step at a time." There is absolutely nothing funny about this book. It's one giant ball of depression. I'm getting depressed reading it, lol. But I feel after half the book I have to see it through how she finally leaves her house. Its like a challenge for me. But not uplifting at all.

My next ARC is A Wicked Game (Ruthless Rivals, #3) by Kate Bateman which comes out 12/27.

can you read book 3 without reading book 2? I loved The Rook but never bothered with book 2.

Wow, that is crazy that credits expire. With Libro you get to keep credits and use them even if you cancel. And the books are DRM-free so you actually own them and can listen on any device you want.

I'm assuming audiobooks that amazon has the rights to wouldn't be on Libro, or if there is publisher restriction agreement with amazon. But they do have like 250,000 titles including new releases and best sellers. So far every book I've checked has been on it.

Oh and I just remembered I think the ALC program is for bloggers/reviewers too. Not sure what the requirements are though.

222868 Audible customers - question:

I had a customer in my store yesterday saying she was going to switch to Libro after she used her audible credits up. She said her husband had like 12 to use he got as a gift last Christmas and he got an email from amazon saying his credits would expire if not used after 1 year. Is this true? Do their credits expire?

I've been thinking of getting the graphic audio versions of Inn Keeper.

My bookstore is a partner seller of Libro.fm selling audio books. They just started selling credit bundles, which is a great option for folks who don't want to commit to a monthly membership. I haven't become a monthly member yet because I get free advanced copies through their ALC program and have tons to listen to right now.

But I think I'm going to join for 1 month, get the free audiobook as a new member (so I'll get 2 for 14.99), then pause the membership account and just buy a credit bundle. Or better yet, tell hubby to get me a bundle for Christmas. Credit bundles come in 2, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24.

Here's my store link if you want to see more about libro.fm
https://libro.fm/loveyourshelf

If anyone here is a teacher or librarian here's the link to sign up for free audiobooks. Please choose my store when you sign up - LOVE YOUR SHELF, Bellingham, MA

www.libro.fm/alc-program

I don't get anything but you'll show up on my customer list and if you do make a purchase in the future I would get credit.

222868 I think I'm done with my BDB reread. I finished Lover Enshrined last night. I know a lot of folks did not like Phury's book, but I didn't mind it. I cried again at the ending with the scene with Z. So I've refreshed my memory on Lash being the Omega's son and how, how Quinn became John's body guard, the return of Tor and the introduction of Lassiter. I don't remember how Lash finally gets taken care of but I don't really care. And I don't feel that I can slog through Rev's book or Tor's. Although part of me does want to refresh on Manny's book, just ciz I like his character.

One thing I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything with Lassiter - help me out BDB gang (Vanessa!):

Lassiter just shows up and pretty much everyone already knows him and that is not explained anywhere, right? (Even Rehvenge knew him).

Just started The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams . I needed something completely different after all those BDB books, lol

222868 I'm doing a BDB reread now. Can't believe its been like 10 years since I read these. I'm up to V's book. I am getting a little...I don't know...maybe bored. I've started skipping sex scenes since they are OTT anyway. I can't believe how much I forgot, like Bella is Revhenge's sister. After that came up I was like, "oh yeah now I remember". Also, I had complained 2 books ago that coffins in the garage were important to the plot and that I didn't remember any of that. Well, in Butch & Marissa's book, Marissa goes into the garage to get her luggage and she notices coffins in there. That's all that's said though. Will see if there are any more references. If that's it then I don't feel bad for not remembering, lol. One of the reasons I'm doing reread is to remind myself about the whole Lash thing since its now more relevant again.

With a series with so much going on and so many characters I can see why some are not seen as much. But Payne I think its never again, lol.

I think the Manny thing is almost like an inside joke - he makes a snarky appearance in every book, kinda like Lassiter with his tights, etc.

I have Amazon Prime. I guess if you are going to make it a point to watch prime video then its worth it. I personally never watch anything, but hubby does on occasion. I like the prime shipping, but lately nothing is 2 days shipping. You do also get free kindle books. All in all its fine, but I'm not happy the price is going up for me again.

(Note: I heard reviews for LoTR were mostly terrible.)

Oh wait! I just remembered. You can try for a month for free! So you could do that and binge all the shows you want and just cancel if you want, lol

I'm really enjoying my reread of Wrath & Beth. Its been like 10 years. lol. And as I look at the list of books, there really aren't that many considering all the events that happen (characters who die, the raids, etc) that push things forward. I'll probably just reread the earlier ones, maybe up to Payne & Manny or maybe Tohr. And that reminds me - how some characters are barely heard from again. Manny is in like every book, but you almost never see Payne....

Hubby is doing well. The surgical staples came out last week. But one of his incisions from the surgery is bothering him. He is off next week and then supposed to go back to work afterwards. Will see how it goes.

222868 Ok so after I finished Darius (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #.5) by J.R. Ward and hubby caught me sobbing at the end with my headphones in, I was feeling nostalgic and started a reread of Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward .

I've never reread any of the BDB books, even the ones I really liked. Looks like Jane Yellowrock will have to wait. I don't know how many books I'll reread, will see how it goes. I have reread Karen Marie Moning, Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Dayrnda Jones, and other favorites multiple times. Don't know why I never re-read BDB before.

222868 Currently reading True Dead (Jane Yellowrock, #14) by Faith Hunter which i had never gotten to when it came out, so I can move right into Final Heir (Jane Yellowrock, #15) by Faith Hunter .

I have to say I can barely remember who a lot of the characters are at this point, or where they came from. Just going with the flow hoping it doesn't matter too much, lol. I am determined to finish this series.

222868 I also finished My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey . It had some genuinely funny moments, but I was tempted to DNF. I struggled through and gave 2*.

222868 I'm finally listening to the audiobook of Darius (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #.5) by J.R. Ward . I've had since before release date, but since we all know what eventually happens to Darius (those who read BDB) I was hesitant, lol

Its really good so far.
