Just got an ARC from netgalley for JR Ward's new book

Just chiming to say I hate the new goodreads page layout. When I'm looking up a book I'd rather not see an advertisement in the middle of the page that I have to scroll past just to see reviews.

I finished
.
I did this as audiobook with libro.fm and the narration was fantastic. I don't usually do horror, but there was enough humor (though dark humor at times) that made it ok for me. Some parts were pretty creepy though. I rounded up to 4*. This is one of those books I think would be better in audio because the narrator was great with different characters and the creepy vibes came through along with the humor.

I have also been re-listening to a bunch of R.J. Blain books...She has several that came out in audio..."I checked my libro.fm account and they have 37 RJ Blain audiobooks, including the newest one. A cool thing about Libro is you don't have to commit to becoming a member; you can just buy 2 credits at time ( or 3, or 6 etc) or buy the book outright, but the credits are cheaper unless there's a sale. But they are having a huge winter sale right now with tons of books for like 4.99.
New memberships to do get a free audiobook (so 2 credits first month) but then you can just pause or cancel and just buy credits as you need them. Plus the profits are shared with the independent bookstore you choose so it supports small businesses.
Here's my store link for more info, how it works, etc.

If you order print books online Bookshop.org is celebrating their 3rd birthday by entering anyone who buys a book today to be entered into a drawing for a $300 gift card. It also says no purchase is necessary in the rules and I believe there should be a form there to enter.

Other people who said it happened to them were saying months went by and no one would help them.

Someone was on the Kresley Cole facebook group saying Amazon locked her out of her account claiming fraud. Someone must've hacked her account she said. But she had no access to any of her downloads (kindle or audible). Said she had to wait for Amazon to "investigate" . Quite a few others chimed in that that has happened to them and Amazon refused to help and one person said she had to make a new account and actually re-buy everything! I never knew it was such a big problem. If that happened to me and Amazon didn't help the last thing I would do would be to rebuy anything. I'd get a KOBO account or something.
(I'm pretty sure it was KC's group, I'm in a few, lol)

I was stuck in traffic today so started the audiobook of
. So far so good, was a lot of traffic so I'm already up to chapter 3, lol
I got it through my libro.fm account. If you want to support indie bookstores try libro.fm for audiobooks. They are DRM free so you actually own them. Plus you can just buy a credit bundle instead of becoming a member. :)
And they're having a big sale right now with a lot of books for $4.99
More info:
https://libro.fm/loveyourshelfNew members get a free audiobook credit and you can pause or cancel at any time and keep all unused credits and purchases.

I'm rereading InnKeeper from the beginning since I know the last book will be under the tree for me since I ordered it through my bookstore's bookshop.org page and just handed the package to my husband when it arrived for him to wrap. :)

That happened to me a couple of times. One I was approved for, like 3 days later went to download and it was already gone. I hate that because it affect my % complete.

I like the honey badgers probably cuz they're so freaking violent, lol

I'm so happy I joined the American Booksellers association. I'm getting more printed galleys (ARCs) sent to me, I joined a "shop talk" zoom call yesterday with other bookstore owners and got some great ideas. My booksop.org page already has 155 views and I know I've had at least 2 sales so far (one me, one from someone else in this group, lol) I've got a special badge on my NetGalley profile now so maybe I won't get as many declines, lol. One publisher put me on the auto approve list. My Biblio.com account will also have the ABA logo once its processed/confirmed.
I'm currently struggling through
. The writing style is irritating. She keeps using commas for every pause both in story telling and for dialogue and never the word "and" and no one talks like that for every sentence and every character does it and its kinda driving me crazy, lol. I've read other books by Nora Roberts and I don't recall this. Maybe she's trying to sound differently for this trilogy.

So I have to go back and "edit" my my review/rating and then I can see the date field. Ug.

I ended up joining the American Booksellers Association. And because of that I get a page on Bookshop.org and I earn 30% of sales generated. To put this in perspective, I only get 40% off wholesale rate at Ingram. So people can order new books through my store on Bookshop.org and I get 30% of the sale and I don't have to order/pay for the book and have it shipped to the store first and pay shipping, fuel charge, etc. I don't ever touch the book, but the package will have my store info on it. You can order any book in the Ingram warehouses.
So....if any of you do buy new physical books online, use my store bookshop.org page and you will be supporting Love Your Shelf. :)
When you make an account just pick Love Your Shelf in Bellingham, MA 02019. It doesn't matter where you live (though I think it is limited to US & Canada).

Hunger Games
Multiple Richelle Mead books
Kate Daniels series
Sookie Stackhouse series
A bunch of Laurell K. Hamilton books
She was missing 30 books that she knows of. She only noticed because she got the message "available to purchase" on one of them and she knew she had already purchased it so she kept checking others.
The reason amazon gave was that some books are being re-released or new publisher release and amazon removes the old ones and makes it so your old is inaccessible from the app. They couldn't restore them but gave her credits to rebuy them.

BTW, Kresley Cole is releasing the final book in the Poison Princess series. She was giving away free promo copies of book 1 on her fan group page.

I have not liked my last 2 audio books.
- super depressing. 2*
- hated both main characters. 2*
Narration was good for both books.
