Just popping on - my store is moving to a better spot 600 feet up the road. Basically current landlord is horrible and I found a bigger place which will suit my needs better anyway. Came up kinda fast. So many boxes of books and so much more to pack....

Also, thanks everyone who voted for my store a couple of months ago in the radio contest. I can now officially say I won best bookstore and got silver medal for place to buy a unique gift. (I had to sign an NDA that I wouldn't reveal the results until today.)

I finished Divine Rivals on audio with my libro.fm account. It was great, and the narration was fantastic. Just glad 2nd book comes out in December because it did have a cliffhanger aspect to it.

I've been working on . I like it but it's really long. Once I finish I need to back to the ARCs I requested.

This cover changed because a publisher (Avon I think) picked up the book, and another of hers and is re-releasing them. The new cover is horrible.

There are a lot of books coming out in a few months with sprayed edges, copying Fourth Wing. Fourth Wing was actually a good book with an established author. I wonder how good all theses other ones will be.

My husband found me a copy of Fourth Wing at another BJs while he was driving around for work!

Industry update - author Brian Sanderson has decided to make the audiobooks for his Secret Projects from Dragonsteel Books UNAVAILABLE on AUDIBLE.

So some interesting bookseller gossip -

Apparently author Christopher Paolini (Eragon, Fractal Noise, Murtagh) is kind of a jerk.

He went on reddit of all places and trashed a bookstore that did an event for him. Complained about how it was run, said the place didn't know what they were doing, how after so many years/events he knows how to run them best, blah blah blah. The bookseller who posted in our facebook group said the event was a huge success, and they went back and forth ahead of time with his publicist and ran it exactly how he demanded they run it. I felt so bad for the store owner. I mean, why would you trash a business like that? Someone in the group asked if maybe she misunderstood what was said so she posted a picture of the actual comment from reddit and hoo boy was it obnoxious.
