222868 I'm finally listening to Butcher & Blackbird (The Ruinous Love Trilogy, #1) by Brynne Weaver . I love it!

I had tried it as ebook and didn't get past the first chapter. This is dark romantic comedy, and the opening scene was too gross for me to get past to get into the book. When I read a book and picture everything in my head is way different than if someone is telling me the story, and I've actually laughed during the book a few times, even though its about 2 serial killers who kill serial killers, quite graphically at times. I love the narration - the 2 narrators read all their parts so its not one chapter by one voice, but a dialogue in both voices. Plus Rowan has the sexy irish accent going.

You have all the BDB books in hardcover? The early ones (I think 1-3) are worth $$$

Trade paperbacks are the most popular and best selling format. Larger than the MMPs so easier on the eyes and sell for a higher price, but not quite hard cover price.

222868 I just ordered The House at Watch Hill (The Watch Hill Trilogy, #1) by Karen Marie Moning by KMM. I already read the ARC, but I'm going to want the trilogy in hardcover and bookshop.org is having free shipping, so I bought it from store page so from myself, lol.

222868 Another bad second book is the Rosie Effect. I loved The Rosie Project but Rosie turned out to be a horrible human being in book 2.

222868 Fiished This Vicious Grace (The Last Finestra, #1) by Emily Thiede . Very good YA! I've started book 2.

On Libro audio I'm listening to The Plot (The Book Series, #1) by Jean Hanff Korelitz . Its good, but not sure I like the narrator. He's very good with different voices but the way he speaks for the main character does not have a ton of inflection so I'm never sure if there's something I'm missing. I'm curious to see if my guess is right for the "bad guy".

ooh I got that book on audio. I'll have to get to it soon. I enjoyed the scholomance books too! The last one really blew me away when everything was tied together.

222868 I finished an ARC of The House at Watch Hill (The Watch Hill Trilogy, #1) by Karen Marie Moning .

I have to finish my review, but I'll say that KMM is back and strong as ever. I did get some Fever series vibes with the writing style, the main character not knowing what was going on, who to trust, etc. Very gothic feeling and some slightly spooky goings on. But it's quite different in terms of story. Lots of questions need to be answered by the end (I believe this is a trilogy).

Hey there!

Guys - J.M. is a friend from my bookstore and a very good customer, lol. We're in my store book club together. We do a No Book Book Club and people can read whatever they want and talk about it. Kinda like what we do here but in person. :)

222868 I finished We Solve Murders (We Solve Murders, #1) by Richard Osman audiobook. I loved it! One of my rare 5* books this year. I think I enjoyed it more because of the narration. I never read the Thursday muder club books but the same author, so I might give those a try. This is a new series and this book just came out.

Reading an ARC of KMM's new book coming out next month The House at Watch Hill (The Watch Hill Trilogy, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . Its quite good so far. Good to see her back.

I did see that. First I was like "ooh!" then I was like not sure I'd like that since his inner thoughts are so important to the story. I don't have apple TV and won't be paying for it, but I think T-mobile has it free for a year and I never set that up so I'll see,,,,

222868 Hi guys! Trying to catch up on posts.

I've finished all the Murderbot books - a new favorite series! That hasn't happened in a long time! I'll definitely reread those.

also did The Wedding People by Alison Espach audiobook. I really liked it (one thing bothereed me near the end) but the narration was great. I think I liked it because of the audiobook.

Also finished Assistant to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain, #1) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer it was cute and fun and not what I was expecting. Just started Apprentice to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain, #2) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

222868 I was on vacation a few days last week so I'm doing a reread of the inkeeper books by IlonaAndres. I don't like to read new books on vacation because I never what we will be doing and if I'll have to put it down, etc.

I also just ordered the special editions of Blood Heir and Iron & Magic from the Arcane society spare sale the other day. I don't know why I didn't order them when first offered. I think I thought at the time $70 was a lot to spend without a set income coming in (my store is still self funding itself fine but not me so much, lol). But for 2 books that's actually a good price. And I like collecting the pretty books. :)

222868 Finished an ARC of The Body in the Backyard (Riley Thorn, #4) by Lucy Score . This is a fun series with Stephanie Plum/Charley Davidson vibes. You do need to start with book 1.

Finished Winter Lost (Mercy Thompson, #14; Mercy Thompson World, #20) by Patricia Briggs . Loved it but I was confused. I could barely remeber anything that happened in the last book. I should've done a reread. It was still wonderful.

Finished on audio I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle - fantastic narration, I haven't read a high fantasy in awhile.

Also finished Conviction (The Unlife of Lisa Cooper #1) by J.M. Celi last night. It was a solid start to an urban fantasy revolving around vampires, but there were all kinds of superaturals. A hint of romance, a few mysteries/murders to solve and a cool dog.

I couldn't think of what to start next even though I have some ARCs I never got to before publication, so I grabbed The Kraken King (Iron Seas, #4) by Meljean Brook for another re-read. Its been too long and I've been dying to read it for awhile. I still love it just as much as the first time.

222868 Thank to everyone for voting for me. I had to sign an NDA until winners are announced in September, but I doublt any of you guys are going to start walking around my neighborhood telling anyone, so.....

I won 3 first place/gold medals for bookstore, thrift store and collectibles, and second place/silver for place to buy a unique gift. There were like 50 people in that category. The collectobles one really surpised because I know 2 of the stores in that one and the coin guys are literally called Coin & Collectibles, and they have won each year. So I'm really shocked, I almost didn't bother with that category, lol. Thank you all!

222868 I couldn't stand the Dead Romantics and was a DNF. The main character was a jerk, all the other people were jerks. Ther was n't one character I liked. The review I posted has almost the most likes of any goodreads review I've ever done and I didn't even say that much, lol.

222868 I have to catch up on the last 2 Miss Fortune books, I think.

FYI - Karen Marie Moning's new book is on NetGalley. I was auto approved for that publisher - woohoo!

The House at Watch Hill (Watch Hill, #1) by Karen Marie Moning

My freind's book (which I also carry in my store) is on sale on Amazon until Sunday for .99. I don't usually promote books on Amazon, lol, but he's a good guy and the book does look good. I've been meaning to read it since he gave mec opies for the store but I know the copies he brings in cost him a lot to print so this is perfect.
