I loved this book! And it was fantastic in audio - the male narrator Michael Gallagher was amazing.

Is this part of the next Innkeeper book? Or is like a limited time thing on their website? I wait until the books are done before I read them but I don't want to miss something that may be taken down from the website after a while.

222868 Just FYI for those waiting for Ruby Fever (Hidden Legacy, #6) by Ilona Andrews - many stores have put it out early. This was a soft release for MMP and its ok for the stores to put them out when they receive it (per Ilona & Gordon). So if you don't want to wait check your local bookstores. :)

222868 I finished an ARC of Something in the Heir by Suzanne Enoch a few days ago. It was good, not great. I gave it 3*. And I see these trendy colorful cartoony book covers are making their way to historical books as well. I do like them, but they start to blend together.

I needed something I could just read and enjoy without thinking too much so I'm doing a reread of Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison which has a permanent place on my kindle and you guys have been mentioning again.

My hubby had a freak accident and by some miracle he is still with us. His surgery went well and he may come home tomorrow. But I'm a bit of a mess with stress and re-seeing what happened to him in my head. I need some Dragos and Pia to keep my mind off it.

222868 I was approved for an ARC of The Heretic Royal (The Scarred Earth Saga, #3) by G.A. Aiken . Yay!

I got Darius (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #.5) by J.R. Ward as an audiobook arc through my Linfbro.fm bookseller account. I have put off listening to it, cuz I'm assuming the ending must be sad.

I've been reading the rest of the Illuminae series. Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman

I had read the first book awhile back, but had to wait to get print books for the rest (and yes the first one even though I had read it) because you really can't do these on kindle or epub - too many cool graphics.

On audio, finished advanced copy of Flying Solo by Linda Holmes . Narrator awesome (Julia Whelan, of course) but I just didn't like the main character. 2* for me.

Also reading on kindle and ARC of Something in the Heir by Suzanne Enoch . Its's ok, but probably won't be more than 3*.

222868 I finished all the Paricia Briggs books I had not previously read, each one 4-5*. I particularly loved the Raven duology.
Raven's Shadow (Raven, #1) by Patricia Briggs
Raven's Strike (Raven, #2) by Patricia Briggs

Deme, not a cliff hanger, the murders are solved, but the story continues. There will be several books from what I understand. I'm trying to be vague so as not to spoil but if you see my review it explains a little more.

222868 I like the The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen on audio so much that I'm probably going to buy a copy. Its a fantasy-type so its a made up world and I'd like to see how things are written as well as pronounced to clarify some things. I got the audio as an ARC through Libro.fm. I'm in love with the voice of the male narrator. He really is amazing. And the book is so unlike anything I've read. I'll be finishing it today - I have 1 hour left.

222868 I finished an advance listening copy of Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan that I got from libro.fm. It was pretty good, I rounded up to 4*. I felt it dragged a little in the later part. It was very interesting to read a book about audiobook narrators by an audiobook narrator that became a writer!

I tried to start a couple of other audiobooks and had trouble finding one with narration that didn't annoy me. One book I really wanted to listen to becasue the description sounded great but the voice was so whiny sounding (to me) I stopped after 1 chapter. I tried a few other samples from some of the other advance copies I got and a lot I just didn't care for.

I ended up starting The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen and the narration is great! Especially the male voice. Its a fantasy so its a little hard for me listening to (as opposed to reading) made up words that have made up meanings and being able to absorb some of the stuff that's explained - but that's a me problem. Another one that sounded good on the sample was Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin so I'll probably do that one next.

222868 I finished the audio ARC of The Bodyguard by Katherine Center . I loved it. 5*

And I got an audio ARC of Darius (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #0.5) by J.R. Ward . So I'll be getting to that soon.

Currently reading Steal the Dragon (Sianim, #2) by Patricia Briggs . Can;t believe I waited so long to read the rest of Briggs' books

222868 I finished my ARC of Ruby Fever (Hidden Legacy, #6) by Ilona Andrews . Amazing, of course. Have to write my review still, it can be hard without giving spoilers.

Tried The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston . Truly horrible. Got to chapter 13 and just had to stop. Thank God I got the audiobook free through my Libro seller account or I would've returned the book, that's how bad it was. I really hope millennials don't think/behave this way. All the characters were horrible people. (I am only referring to millennials because that is literally in the book description.) And it had way, way too many political statements woven into it.

Now on audio I am listening to The Bodyguard by Katherine Center . Its fantastic so far! I was laughing so much at one event my family thought I was crazy (I had my headphones in, which jut made it more weird). I might buy it after for my shelves so I have a physical copy as well. Hope it keeps being awesome.

And I finally read Masques (Sianim, #1; Aralorn, #1) by Patricia Briggs . I've had two copies of it on my shelves for years (one hardcover, one softcover - both a duology with Wolfsbane included). I loved it. I'll probably keep with the Patrice Briggs I haven't gotten to yet for my before bed kindle reading. But I do have 2 more ARCs to get to as well (I can't remember which but I know one is a historical romance).

I gave it 4*. Looking forward to the next one.

222868 I'm on the last published Stephanie Plum Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight. On audio I'm listening to A Rip Through Time (A Rip Through Time, #1) by Kelley Armstrong with my libro.fm account. Its pretty good so far. I tried listening to Susan Mallery's new release The Boardwalk Bookshop by Susan Mallery and I couldn't do it. The narrator was a little annoying, and there were so many characters and backstories I was too confused. So I gave up on that one after about 4 chapters. I might try actually reading it at some point.

222868 I finished listening to Something Wilder by Christina Lauren last night. It was really good. The narrators were also very good. I know that can be an issue for people. Libro.fm is still having the free audiobook promotion, so 2 books the first month for 14.99 plus tax. If anyone wants to try it, you can pause or cancel after the first month and you keep the credits/books.

222868 I'm still working on the Stephanie Plum books on my kindle. Last 2 were "meh" for me because they each had a character crossover from another series or from a novella and some PNR type stuff which just felt out of place for me after all these books. But they did have some hilarious moments.

With my Libro.fm account I'm listening to Something Wilder by Christina Lauren . Its pretty good! I'm getting better with audiobooks too, not as much rewinding for me. I love that I can be doing laundry and still get book time. :)

222868 I just finished Stephanie Plum #20. I know I am behind the times. I see a lot of reviews from people complaining about how the books are too repetitive and how there's no character growth, etc.

For me, they are fine just the way they are. They are comedy. I look forward to seeing how her car is going to be destroyed next time. Its a running gag. I don't get why people think it needs to change. None of the characters change, not Stephanie, Morelli or Ranger or Lula or even Grandma. For me, that's the point. A guaranteed laugh. I feel like I'm watching a favorite sitcom. And I have to say, as the books go on, the humor actually gets better.
