I used to go to this site all the time but forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder! And that list had a few series I've heard about but have not gotten to yet, plus many other for me to check out. Thanks!

222868 I finished Gifted Thief Gifted Thief (Highland Magic, #1) by Helen Harper and it was overall pretty good. 3* There was one thing the h did that did not sit right with me, but I'm continuing with the series because I want to see what happens and find out what really happened to her family. I didn't know it was 4-book series when I started...I just picked it off my kindle.

For me the side characters actually make this series. The cat sitter/coffee guy Tex always steals the show.... I also love Daisy and the guy that owns the strip club, Smitty. If I recall you meet him in book 2.

222868 I find myself curious about that female vampire Romina and what her issues were....wonder if she is going to show up in a future book so we get to find out....Peyton never said or thought specifically about what was going with her.

222868 Sometimes I have to reread over some of her sayings before I understand them. :) And some of them I just give up on.

I cannot wait for for Assail's book. I loved him so much in the last book he was in.

Seriously thinking about series reread, but some of those books were depressing! Yeah HEAs were found but there was a lot of suffering at times.

222868 OK I finally finished. I gave it 4*. I do love going back to this world over and over again. I love seeing the brothers in the the legacy books, but they don't overshadow or take too much page time from these stories/couples. The Warden really knows how to suck us in.....

I really liked Saxton in this book. I thought the romance with Ruhn was a tiny bit insta-love (especially since he didn't even know he was gay and they really didn't know each other long) but it did not feel forced in this story so I was good with it. I also liked seeing Saxton get his HEA and things with Blay & Quinn smoothed over. It was very emotional seeing things from Saxton's POV when he found Ruhn at the house, and the part with Bitty.

I did like the Novo/Peyton story as well. I liked Peyton more than Novo, but she had her reasons for being the way she was. But I was glad Peyton didn't take her crap when they had that fight near the end, although he did admit he would've gone after her eventually. I would've liked to have seen the showdown with his father instead of hearing about it afterwards, and I wanted that doggen to get told off. But hey, I think Saxton got enough revenge for everyone in this book....

oh okay it was from way before. I thought I missed something in a recent book or something. I read the earlier books so very long ago I don't remember more than the gist of each story/couple. Sometimes I think of doing a reread but then it seems kinda exhausting. Who know...maybe this summer....

Once Upon a Marquess has been on my To Be Read list for awhile, so I'll have to get to this one soon.
While you are waiting for book 3, have you tried Courtney Milan's other series Brother's Sinister? Most of those were great books.

I loved book 2 The Heiress Effect . The h had a lot of money and to get guys to not bother her trying to woo her she wore outlandish gowns. I remember one line from the H about the color of her gown making his eyes bleed or something like that. It was hilarious.

222868 Vanessa, the first time I read Rock Chick I was unimpressed. I gave it 2 or 3* . I did like some of the humor but didn’t love Indy with the same issues you mention. I did go on to read the rest of the series and as a whole did enjoy them, though some are better than others.

Then a couple of years later I was hankering for some OTT alphas so I went back and did a reread of the whole series. I ended up liking Rock Chick a lot more the second time. I have no reason for this other than maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood for Indy’s antics and shenanigans the first time.

SYNOPSIS
It’s everything but business as usual.
Emmie Elliot hadn’t expected to come back to Metlin, California. She definitely didn’t expect to stay. She returned to her childhood home with a mission: Sell the building that housed her grandmother’s book store and move on with her life.

But life doesn’t always go according to plan.
To reopen her grandmother’s book shop, Emmie will need a hook. She’ll need a strategy. She’ll need an… Ox?

Miles Oxford doesn’t have much interest in quiet bookstore owners. He’s a tattoo artist without a space to work, and the last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone after his last disaster of a relationship. Work and pleasure don’t mix for Ox, but since he doesn’t have any interest in the cute girl with the bold business proposal, he should be safe from any awkward complications, right?

She sells ink. He tattoos it. Unusual? Yes. But a book shop/tattoo studio might be the ticket for both Emmie and Ox to find success on their own terms. As long as they keep their attention focused on business.

It does get better in the Dark Kingdom. She gets all "rage-y" and there are some really funny moments.

222868 According to Ilona Andrews facebook page - Magic Triumphs has been pushed to August 28th.

I finished Fused in Fire. This trilogy was a lot of fun. I loved the neighbors and the dual mages. Only thing I had a slight problem with was the "why" of the H falling for the h. It was never explained. They even remarked on it because vampires could not feel love. So I didn't really "feel" the connection between the 2 of them until the 3rd book. At the end the author said there would be a spin off trilogy and some of the same characters will be in it.

Up next - Blood Fury

And boy does that man have moves on him! I had no idea he could sing like that.

222868 OK folks I just have to say I am OBSESSED with the soundtrack for The Greatest Showman. I even want to go see it in the theaters again, but since movies are a lot of money (and my family won't want to go again) I will just have to wait for when it is released on DVD. But there is a reason why the soundtrack is #1 on the charts!

If you like musicals, go see this movie!
