The thing that is confusing me is new Serena had her own life from before real Serena died. I remember the John Matthew thing, but don't recall the timing on how long Darius had died until we met JM. Darius died at the beginning of book 1, but I don't remember how much time had passed when we first meet JM. JM had the tattooes I think but did not look like Darius (I'm really hoping I am remembering that name right). New Serena and real Serena are identical in looks I believe. Its just throwing me off. She'll come up with some explanation though...

Dani killed her sister - though not directly. She led her into a trap with some fey. So she did mean for it to happen. But she was under orders from that evil lady that led the Sidhe Seers who was lying to her and manipulating her into doing things..

If I recall I was 4-5* on these too. If I recall I did need a bit of break after I think maybe the 3rd book. Its a lengthy story. But overall it is something I would consider rereading.

I also really liked Manny in this book. Funny because his feature book was one of my least favorites if I recall.

I forgot about that pre-trans girl from The Beast! She was not mentioned in the last book that I recall (but of course I am probably wrong).

I do not like the idea of V thinking about cheating. I don't mind couples being revisited and having problems to overcome but I don't like this angle. I highly doubt he will actually cheat - because that is a no-go for a lot of readers, but even just him thinking about it feels like a betrayal. Will see how this plays out.

I find myself really confused buy the whole Serena not-dead thing. I mean, the new Serena had a past & life of her own, and its only been a couple of months I think since "real" Serena passed. Lassiter is involved so I guess anything is possible. I just didn't get it. Hopefully more is explained in the next book.

I'm not seeing a PNR shelf - just scifi, historical, steampunk and UF.

Fang Fang if you like dragons I recommend Bec McMaster's new series: Heart of Fire and book 2 just came out Storm of Desire.

For a good fun stand alone that's kinda different: The Rook. No romance in this but a great story/world. There is a book 2 but I heard it was not as good and have not gotten to it.

I'm about halfway through The Collector. It's pretty good but I forgot I don't love NR's excessive use of commas separating multiple actions in one sentence. I know its just me because she is obviously popular.

And just to be clear I welcome different opinions on reviews and polite, respectful discussion. But when trolls are just out to be insulting and obnoxious then they seriously need to get a life.....

It amazes me sometimes how random people on the internet are just so obnoxious. If I don't agree with someone's review and I don't know them then I keep my mouth shut. What is with some people and the trolling? Are they paid by authors to do this? This last person to comment has 0 friends and 12 books shelved.....

Deme I looked and did not see anything. But the Mail Order Midwinter Bride came out in 2017 so maybe something will come out this year. There was a small hook at the end of the book that referenced someone else traveling to be his wife but by the time she got there it was too late and hinted that she would have her own story. Wonder if her MC books are any good.

Then I read The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride - thanks for the rec Demetra! This was a wonderful read though not too long. I loved the H. I'm wondering if there are more stories set in this world. There seemed to be a hint at the end of the book that there were other stories. The mail order bride series it was a part of seems to be different books by different authors. So I'll have to check on this.

Liz, for scifi see if he'll try The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I have not read it in years, but it was pretty funny. It's a 4 book series I believe, and every library should have it. I first read it in high school. I'm trying to get my 9th grade daughter to read it. They did make it into a movie a bunch of years ago, which wasn't too bad, but the book is way better of course.
