222868 Just finished Threshold of Annihilation Threshold of Annihilation (The Firebird Chronicles, #3) by T.A. White , which is book 3 in the Firebird Chronicles by TA White. This is a new favorite series. I think Paula first recommended it - so thanks!

It really is like Katie Daniels in space, and I never believe it when books are compared to other series. Book 1 is Rules of Redemption (The Firebird Chronicles, #1) by T.A. White , its currently 4.99 on amazon.

222868 The book that saved BDB for me was The Beast The Beast (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #14) by J.R. Ward . I was still reading them but that one really got me back into the series.

222868 Well GR acting up again and I didn't get any notifications for this group for last 2 days. Then I went to my groups page and didn't see the group at first and freaked out for minute because I saw it listed and that there were new comments....

222868 Currently reading The Part About the Dragon Was (Mostly) True The Part About the Dragon Was (Mostly) True (Heloise the Bard #1) by Sean Gibson , which I got from NetGalley for review. It comes out tomorrow and I'm not done with it due to life getting in the way.

So far I mostly like it, it definitely is pretty funny at times, but at other times it feels like its trying too hard to be funny, if you know what I mean. So far it's a 3.5 rounded up to 4* though.

222868 Ann Bishop posted to her fan group page on facebook that she is writing a new Others book for 2022, with the Lake Silence gang:

"I'm popping in for a minute with news!
I finally get to tell you about the book I'm now writing, which will be released in 2022.
It's Trickster Night at The Jumble, and everything is going well (sort of) until it isn't. Then Vicki DeVine, Aggie Crowgard, and their friends have to figure out why the Crowgard boogeyman has come to Lake Silence.
Crowbones will gitcha if you don't watch out!
(Don't ask for more information about the story. I can't tell you. The Muse says so. Really.)"

ML does have another story in that world, about the people who live on the ice. The first book is out, but I heard it ends on a huge cliffhanger, so I am waiting.

222868 I did see a book listed for the awards that I will try by Mark Lawrence. Its a spin off of the Red Sister/Book of the Ancestor series. But I heard book 1 ends in a whopping cliffhanger so I will wait. The Girl and the Stars (Book of the Ice, #1) by Mark Lawrence

I just don't understand how this is the reader's choice awards and they have a book that is not even published yet, so who has read it? Sure some people with ARCs would get it early but that's it. How can someone vote for a book they have not read? I am sure some people do that if they like an author, etc. But this book is no even out yet. Just shows how the process is manipulated.

222868 The Patricia Briggs fan group on facebook has started a write in campaign for the GR Choice Awards in the fantasy category for Smoke Bitten (Mercy Thompson, #12) by Patricia Briggs Smoke Bitten. They've got over 15K members, so hopefully enough will do it.

Thought I would post about it here too in case anyone wanted to write it in under the fantasy category. I just did!

222868 OK, so I can finally vote on the choice awards....and I read a total of 1 book that was nominated, and I don't think I even heard about the majority of the others.

The book I voted for was Midnight Sun (Twilight, #5) by Stephenie Meyer , which I did love and ended up getting in hardcover with some amazon points so I would have a complete collection.

Bane's Choice (Vampire Motorcycle Club, #1) by Alyssa Day"

I did! I got an ARC. It was good for, not great. But I did like it. I gave it 3*. The motorcycle club is not a huge part of the story, just FYI.

222868 So I was checking out the GR Choice Awards books by category and also had not read any of them, then I clicked the next category and now all I can get to is 2019 results. Even if I click the Vote the button from the home page it takes me to 2019. Weird.

I also think its ridiculous to have a book that is not even published yet listed as a nominee.

222868 My Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson books 1 -10 arrived today. They were all hardcover. The first 3 are worth about $800-$900 online (combined, not each). I paid $100 for all 10 books. I told my family if anything ever happens to me to not just get rid of my books!
