222868 So someone at Kensington books must like me because they approved all my ARC requests on NetGalley. I can't believe it! I'm so used to being rejected that I had to reread the emails a few times to make sure I was understanding correctly.

The Princess Knight (The Scarred Earth Saga, #2) by G.A. Aiken
Silver Creek Fire by Lindsay McKenna
The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea (Embraced by Magic, #2) by Kerrelyn Sparks

I also got approved for All Scot and Bothered (Devil You Know, #2) by Kerrigan Byrne from St. Martin's Paperbacks

And just finished an Arc of
The Blood King (Inferno Rising, #2) by Abigail Owen - this is a fun dragon series! (this was book 2, I had received and ARC of book 1 The Rogue King (Inferno Rising, #1) by Abigail Owen as well) My reviews for these are posted if you want to check them out.

oh he is NOT a reader. ;)
He prefers audio books and has done a few of those. He also has read some sports biographies. The books he found are more collectors type stuff. But I think its cool and he is adding to our library. I just got some more shelves from my brother that he was getting rid of, and we have an antique bar downstairs with 2 bar stools I am going to try and sell. It looked cool when we moved in but we don't even drink, so it was more for looks. Once those are gone will have more space for shelves. I'm going to put a comfy chair right there. I do love real books more, but the kindle is just so convenient, especially if you are going places. I used to carry around 2 books with me everywhere in case I finished the one I was reading!

222868 So my daughter had a doctor's appointment at the hospital kinda far away, but conveniently only about 15 minutes from the Used Book Superstore so we ended up going there again after the appointment since we were already so close by.

Today's haul:
hardcover of Silence Fallen (Mercy Thompson, #10) by Patricia Briggs for .99
paperback of Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs for 2.49
(I am trying to collect the whole series in hardcover but first 3 books are very hard to find and very expensive when you do, so I grabbed the paperback for now so I could at least work on completing the series)

paperback of Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews for 1.75 - cuz I think I will start collecting all the kate daniels in PB

Paperback Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning for 2.49
Paperback Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning for 2.49 - same reason, trying to build my library with favorite series but cheap LOL

My husband also got 4 books - Marvel characters encyclopedia, a Spiderman encyclopedia and 3 The Simpsons books on specific characters. Hubby said he likes going to this store cuz he never finds anything at Barnes & Noble.

All 10 books came out to $35. We're gonna go back every month or two. Its kinda far (almost an hour) but not like there is anything else to do these days.

222868 I finished A Touch of Stone and Snow A Touch of Stone and Snow (A Gathering of Dragons, #2) by Milla Vane . I think I enjoyed this one a little better than the first. It was not quite as dark or blood thirsty. Looking forward to the next book.

I was at a Savers store for the first time. If you do not have these near you they are stores where people donate items they don't want anymore and the store resells them. I found these in the book section and literally jumped up and down. My husband thought I was crazy. I grabbed the other paperback just because I didn't want to leave it behind and it was only $3. The InnKeeper books were $11 altogether. I already had these all on kindle but the the covers were too beautiful to resist.

222868 Finished Queen’s Gambit (Dorina Basarab, #5) by Karen Chance . Another great Dory/Dorina book. Just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book (which I think is a Cassie Palmer book) because it was a cliffhanger of a sort. Good reads is saying next book out is August. She was dropped by her publisher and vowed to fans to keep going until the series are finished. (There were some typos in this self published book but nothing worse than I've seen in other books and did not really bother me.)

Now I think I'm going to try A Touch of Stone and Snow (A Gathering of Dragons, #2) by Milla Vane .

I don't mind KA's style. She can really make me cry or LOL or feel emotion at moments. (But at other moments I'm like WTH?) Her books do usually follow a pattern and that's ok with me because it usually works. The problem with the last Chaos book was that she brought in characters from another series as a cross over. She completely mixed the genres and it was way out of place. (view spoiler)

222868 So I made it through the Chaos series. Some were better than others, a couple were 4*. But the last book was a hot mess. I had to round up to 2*. I would've DNFed it was that bad but I wanted to see how everything ended with the bad guys...and even that was awful.

I think I am done with KA for awhile.

Now I don't know what to read next. That book was such a disaster I don't want my mood affecting my next read.

Hi Vanessa!

Its called the Used Book Superstore and its in Burlington, MA., which is about 50 minutes from me, so add another hour or so for you coming from Connecticut. I'm going to try to hit about every three months.

The small used bookstore down the street from me closed for good. But I noticed if I went in there too often I would just see the same books over an over. Another I noticed is that I would almost never see any Ilona Andrews books or any of my other top authors. I figured this is because us fans keep our books and don't turn them in. I was lucky once and found a hardcover of Shifting Shadows (Mercy Thompson #0.1, #0.5, #0.7, #0.9, #1.2, #1.8, #4.5, #5.5, #7.4, #8.5) by Patricia Briggs for $8. Since buying the hard covers last week I looked on Amazon for the ones I am missing. The first 3 Mercy Thompson books in hardcover go for like $100-200 used!

222868 Just got back from the Used Bookstore Warehouse I've been dying to go to. Its almost an hour away but I made it worth it. Got 16 books! 15 for me and my husband bought one 1 (about DC comic characters).

I scored the following:

The Iron Duke
Riveted
The House of Gaian
When Demons Walk
Steal the Dragon
The Fiery Cross
Dragonfly in Amber
Drums of Autumn
Voyager
An Echo in the Bone

And all these in hard cover.
Dead Heat
Night Broken
Fire Touched
Bone Crossed
Silver Borne

My new hobby is building a print library of favorites. Now I will have to look for ones I am missing so I can have complete series.

All these books (and my husband's) only cost around $85 altogether.

222868 After Rock Chick and Dream Man series rereads and reading the new Dream Team book by Kristen Ashley, I wanted to try Chaos series. Apparently I read Own the Wind a few years ago and didn't remember. So I reread it. It was okay, but interested me more this time and I read book 2 Fire Inside, which I really liked. So now I am on book 3 Ride Steady. I've just really been in the mood for KA books I guess.

I am off work this week for vacation with nowhere to go. I heard there is a used book store warehouse with great deals about 45 minutes from here so I am going to go check that out. I'm really looking forward to it.

222868 I finished a reread of the Rock Chicks and The Dream Man series and have finally started the new book Dream Maker Dream Maker (Dream Team, #1) by Kristen Ashley . And I just found out yesterday I won a Goodreads giveaway for a print copy of Dream Maker. So that's cool that I will have it for my shelves.

I never read the Chaos series, but now seeing characters in other books think I might give them a try. I heard somewhere some were not so good so I did not bother, but I enjoyed Motorcycle Man (Dream Man, #4) by Kristen Ashley more on my re-read and upped my rating to 4* (it had been 8 years since first time so maybe my tastes changed, who knows...)

222868 I finished my reread of the Rock Series (3rd time) and now I am working on the Dream Man series reread (first time rereading). Can't believe it was 8 years ago since I read these books. I think I am enjoying them more this time around.

222868 I've been doing a Rock Chick series reread by Kristen Ashley. Third time and I still LOL at some parts. Then I am going to reread the Dream Man series because a new Dream Man book came out last week and I only read those once a long time ago.

222868 I remember reading the partial draft to Midnight Sun that Myer posted online after the manuscript was stolen. She said she would never publish it after that. I think she waited too long but I'm going to read it. People make fun of Twilight and I get it, but I enjoyed those books.

Currently reading Sin & Lightning Sin & Lightning (Demigods of San Francisco, #5) by K.F. Breene . This is a pretty good series. I enjoy it. Its on KU. (this is book 5 I think.)
