Can't wait to ..."Vanessa I am so paranoid I got the app to get my tickets on my phone AND printed them.
Hubby said the day is mine so he will do whatever I want. He's going to be taking a lot of pictures for me. :)
We can meet you maybe around 12? The general admission starts at 2PM. I have only been to Mohegan Sun once and I kept getting lost walking around. So we will plan for some navigation time. I can PM you my phone number if you like. Or we could also do dinner after instead if getting there 2 hours early is not good for you.
Question for you - they said you could bring books from home to sign but hope people will also purchase. I've never been to a signing like this. How many is too many books? The only Ilona Andrews books I have in print is the Edge series (4 books). Is that too many to ask to be signed? I also hoping to buy a Kate Daniels book while there I was there to have signed. I have one Tessa Dare book at home that I got at a used book store (Duchess Deal). So I was going to bring that as well. Plus we are getting the free paper back that came with ticket purchase. I picked Ilona Andrews book and signed hubby up for Tessa Dare. In retrospect I probably should've swapped those in order to try and save his man card a little bruising. Who am I kidding? He's probably going to be the only guy there.

I finished the latest Lizzie Grace book. I liked it and I am looking forward to the next one, but this one felt dragged out and a bit repetitive.
Also finished
War of Hearts
, which I really liked! Highly recommend.

Can't wait to ..."ooh I will ask hubby and see what time he wants to go. I believe it starts at 2pm, so if we can leave early and get there by noon, lunch would work. It takes us just under 90 minutes to get there I think. (Haven't been to Mohegan Sun in years!)

Thank God no I did not. ..."I honestly don't know who she is going to be - I can't remember the name. Its a character from a video game I believe. We had to buy a Japanese school girl costume (skirt with top, neck tie, knee socks. Looks like a sailor outfit). Got the whole set off amazon along with a wig with a pony tale. Then went to halloween store to get her a plastic Katana. The costume is cool and you can make other characters out of the same outfit by changing some colors and accessories. Apparently its a popular theme in anime and video games.

Just had a freakout. I didn't realize we were so far into October and remembered I got KissCon tickets to see Ilona ANdrews. I was like OMG did I miss it}??!!! Thank God no I did not. Its not until the 26th. Phew. We've been focused on ComicCon on 11/2 getting my daughter's cosplay ready and seeing how many tickets we need to buy.

So I had to put aside
Promise of Darkness
. I am really not liking it. It just feels like a low quality New Adult book with fae. I am about halfway through and I just couldn't do it anymore. Not calling it an official DNF yet, but I need to read something else for awhile. I'll probably end up going back to it and skim through the 2nd half. I just can't believe its so different from all her other books (and not in a good way).

So I started
Promise of Darkness
and something feels off. I love Bec McMaster - one of my favorite authors. I even had a review listed in the front of one her books. The problem (for me) is that this book is written in the dreaded first person-present tense POV. I don't believe any of her other books were like that. I has a New Adult feel to it with a lot of inner thoughts. In addition to that, I'm pretty sure at like 17% I already figured out a big reveal for later. Its so obvious (although I could be wrong but I doubt it). So with other books by her I was instantly engaged and entertained, so far this one is kinda a dud. I really hope it gets better. Kinda disappointed.
Vanessa wrote: "LAB... Have you read the Virgin River series? The H from The Wanderer
makes an appearance in one of the final books. I liked the VR series better, ..."Yes I read Virgin River. A good series. I liked some more than others. I will probably continue with Thunder Point when I need a small town book in between other reads.

I needed a break from everything paranormal and ended up finally starting
The Wanderer. I was in the mood for a small town romance and so far its just that. Some of the writing can be a bit corny at times but I don't seem to mind.

I gave up on the archangels books too. Couldn't take the the writing style. For some reason I didn't think Psy-Changeling was as bad, but I ended up breaking up with that series too.

Finished
Sweep of the Blade (awesome of course) and have started
Siren's Song. This is listed as part of the Dorina Basarab books but is told from Pritkin's POV (in an earlier novella Raven's Claw Dorry & Pritkin cross paths and this is linked to that story, which in turn links to the main series of both Cassie and Dorry). I just love the Cassie Palmer books and the Dorry books. The author lost her publisher but says she is going to continue publishing books on her own. As long as she does I'll keep reading!

I finished
How to Love a Duke in Ten Days
. The ending didn't really make sense. Multiple bad guys, ok. But nothing was explained about how they knew each other. I rounded up to 3* because I liked the H. I'll probably read the next one, based on the epilogue in this one.
I started (finally!)
. I was going to reread the first innkeeper books as a refresher but honestly I don't have time for more rereads when the TBR is getting out of hand (as you can see since I am just getting to this book). Anyway, was a little lost at the beginning but didn't take long for me to get re-familiar with the world. So all is good. :)

I finished
and loved it, though maybe not quite as much as others by IA, though still a 5* read. I didn't mind Catalina as the lead, but there a few times things got repetitive with her inner voice.
Also finished
which I got as and ARC and finally had time to read it. Pretty good romantic suspense. Gave it 4*. Its book 2 but can be read as a standalone. (Book 1 was ok, I gave that on 3* cuz the h annoyed me).
I just started
How to Love a Duke in Ten Days
. I just finished the prologue. Wow, really dark beginning....

OMG! I got another ARC from Net Galley for
Hard Asset
. I don't know what's going on here all of sudden, but I'll take it!
Luckily I did read the first book in this series already, but I did not do a review and just gave a rating on Goodreads (which was 3*) But I do like Pamela Clare's writing very much, the last book
I just didn't love cuz the I didn't care too much for h.

BDB fans please tell me if I am correct....
reading the blood legacy book that just came out and at one part it mentions Butch "reforming alongside a house". I though Butch couldn't dematerialize because of the way he transitioned? And now that I think about it, earlier in this very book I think it was mentioned he borrowed Vs car to go somewhere because he couldn't dematerialize...

It was very good, my only (tiny) complaint was that it seemed to end too abruptly. ..."I was trying to figure out by the description of the dragon if he was someone mentioned in one of the dragonkin books, but probably not. Although I will be doing a dragonkin reread sometime soon so I'll be on the lookout just in case.
I also liked the character from the Steppes who was referred to as having a ridiculously long name. :)
Carol wrote: "LAB & HBW - Congrats on the arc for
. Let us know how it is. (I'm sort of sad there's no more Dragonkin)"I finished it on Sunday. It was really good. I gave it 4 stars, and definitely had some LOL moments. It is loosely tied in with dragonkin, meaning dragonkin characters are mentioned though not by name (specifically a crazy queen). It's the same world with the 2 suns but a different part (the Hills Lands or something like that). I really enjoyed it and looking forward to next book, although not sure if it will be a different couple or follow along with Keeley since many things weren't resolved and although there was romance it was not a big part of the story as is usual with her books lately (which is fine with me) so not sure how she can switch to another couple and there wasn't really a set up of any other characters getting together, just more of what Kelley has to face in the future.

It looks like the whole book....

Holy Moly! I actually got approved from netgalley for
The Blacksmith Queen
. I almost never get approved for anything I request so I do't bother requesting much anymore....I'm going to read it next.
Finished the latest Miss Fortune book (4*) and now I'm reading Kristen Ashley's "Quiet Man". Took some adjusting to get into her writing style, but the scene in the supermarket was LOL-worthy.
