@LAB - She is still writing Wraith Kings but she had a deadline with this book that messed up the schedule if my memory serves me. The IPPOS King is next and she has been giving it out in pieces on her website but I don't like that format hence I have not read any of the new Innkeeper yet either, I want it all LOL

WOW, just finished
Kill the Queen and it might be the best first book of a series in many years (decades?). No cliffhanger and almost nothing left to make you want the next book as much as just enjoying a great story that allows you to stop right here and bask in the afterglow :)

Well just finished
A Muddle of Magic which is book 2 of this series (trilogy?) by Lexi George writing under a different name and loved it but like most epic fantasy middle books lots of action and kinda leaves you in the middle of nowhere but waiting on the next book (which I will grab as soon as I can get my hands on it) and in some weird twist Jennifer Estep has also started an epic fantasy series/trilogy called
Kill the Queen which at the 40% mark I am loving tonight, the "Muddle" series is really good but the girl tends toward TSTL in ways but it is inline with the story since she was on her deathbed and snatched into this new world. The "Kill the Queen" is going to be more of a rabbit to lion story I think (which I love). For some reason about this time each year I get a little bored with reading and play video games a bit and replaying through Witcher 3 (the best game ever made by the majority of people who rate this stuff) for about the 3rd time. It is based on a series of books written by a Polish author whose name I forget.
The Witcher TV show they are making should be out soon using ex-Superman Henry Cavill in the leading role (read link below if you want info)
https://www.pcgamer.com/netflix-witch...Well back to
Kill the Queen who is trying to impress some folks with the magical power of pie making LOL

Just gives you a warm feeling oh Amazon Reviewer of Heart of Fire :) Congratz

@TINNGG - "Between the TSTL heroine, the wallpaper hero, and Captain Caveman" I forgot to mention the TSTL heroine LOL totally true

In other news I usually hit a slump about this time of year and spend a good bit of time playing games or in this case replaying the #1 game of all time Witcher 3 but I have gotten a couple in:
read
Phoenix Unbound and while it was a great story, she had to lay down a detailed background and a new world so it was slow going for about 50% and ended with a great ending and promise for more with no cliffhanger.
read
Vampires Like It Hot the latest in the Argeneau series and it was great entertainment and a bit of a twist to the ending but this series will never recover the addictive nature of the first 8-10 books
both of the above are solid 4 Star reading, I have to say that myself and a couple of other reviewers felt that if you had give us a copy of
Phoenix Unbound with no author data we would not have guessed Grace Draven wrote it, that might be good or bad but then again as I said in my review I did not want a rehashed Wraith Kings story so all things considered it was great fun but a bit gritty, her books tend to be a bit realistic where sometimes bad things happen to good people.

@Vanessa - Where does this newer Bridgerton series fit in with the other one?

@Vinity - "I read The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl and Most Eligible Billionaire both were funny light fast reads"
I have to agree, I read them both and they score really high in pure entertainment value, loved them :) I hope she does more in the same vein, the Wake-Up has more sex than I like (except it really was just phone sex and she was actually trying to insult him at the start) but it was part of the plot and it worked wonderfully. The amount of actual sex in both books was about the right amount I thought, about the point I thought it might go over the edge, things usually got serious :)

OK, I just finished the last Quincy Harker novel (so far)
She Talks to Angels - A Shadow Council Case Files Novella and I will get the shakes until he writes the next one, this is like several stories all under one huge overarching plot and I am loving it but pretty sure the next one is a few months away :(

Well I just preordered
Lionheart, the synopsis did not really sound that great but hopefully it will be as good as the others
DemetraP wrote: "I was re-reading The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook. I'm hoping we get the Blacksmith's book someday. She said she was writing it, years ago. Anyone have any recs for steampunk with a happy ending? I f..."I am assuming you read The Kraken King

@Paula - I actually wrote John G. Hartness because I could not tell what the freaking reading order was and he actually provided me with a list from #5 since I read the first 4 :) Said that some of his short stories show up as books after he had already combined them into one of the below novels which causes confusion. I am on #11 and for all practical purposes 9-10-11 are one book that follows several characters and the POV during separate stories under a overaching plot, good stuff.
5 - Heaven Sent
6 - Heaven's Door
7 - Heaven Help Us
8 - Heaven Can Wait
9 - Calling All Angels
10 - Devil Inside
11 - Angel Dance
12 - Running With The Devil
13 - She Talks To Angels
14-16 are forthcoming

@Melindeeloo - I went and looked at the Elantra books and they are all pretty much 500 page books, is the story riveting enough to keep you interested for 500 pages in each book?

Did a marathon reading today of 3 Quincy Harker books (#6-7-8) and loved them, will be getting to the next 3 tomorrow I hope, this is one of those things I would never be able to do without KU

Congratulations there Aussie Girl, I am sorry but I have already been informed that my daughter has the World's Most Perfect baby :) Being of sound mind I did not dispute it to mother or grandmother

re:
Prisoner of the Crown - trust me on this one folks, you WILL want to have
Exile of the Seas handy to go right to it :) There is no time delay between the books and I should stress that if you feel like putting it down DON'T, book 1 is brutal and reading them both together leaves you in a good place

@Vanessa - I loved
The Grand Sophy are her other books as good? The ending was kinda abrupt but other than that it was like Mission Impossible with so many moving parts in the plot :)

LOL, I had skipped over the next Quincy Harker book so long I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them, :)
Heaven's Door

Now I can't find a thing to read, because what can follow that?"Not much but allow me to suggest reading 2 books as 1 which I think will fill the need for an exceptional story by the end of book 2 (book 2 is the first 5 Star rating I have ever given one of her books)
Prisoner of the CrownExile of the Seas

Up to these last 2 they are pretty much auto-buy worthy :) I am still considering the next to last book
It's In His Kiss With 2nd Epilogue since when you look at the overall ratings it gets about 25% of its ratings are 3 Star or below in contrast with the last book
On the Way to the Wedding which has over a THIRD of its ratings are 3 Star or below which is never good. I think I need to find some good old blood and gore novel to read tonight LOL. REALLY looking forward to reading
Phoenix Unbound this month
